Well, I'm using Ubuntu for now since I can't get my wireless working well anywhere else. Here's what I settled on after finding Nodoka-Midnight. It's the first dark gtk engine/theme that doesn't have some little thing that drives me crazy, so I'm pretty excited about that :D

    I like it :)

I give myself a week before I decide I need to change it (and get sick of Ubuntu) Actually, Fedora is really interesting me for once, if my wireless works well.

May I recommend the Ubuntu Studio 7.04 theme? I'm using it, and it's REALLY awesome!

not bad, though I have to wonder why ubuntu users insist on using the cube to show off their desktop... makes it a lot harder to see how well the theme works

and what other way would we do it.

Themes are getting to the point where you need to have desktop video threads, not screenshot threads.

Yeah, I think I play video games too much...

I have to turn off my fancy stuff to run steam. It's kind of lame.

    Wine ;)

Actually, I got crossover when they were giving it out free. Crossover just uses the wine files to install windows apps. It's a fairly easy process just using wine. Runs about the same as on my vista partition. As of yet, no mic support or AA.

Ahh.. You'll have to play around with the winecfg. There's a part about letting the destop manager control your windows or something.

Weird. I can get it to pop up with every tab except for the games tab. I can open it in another tab and switch to the games tab though.

Hahah. I mean the different tabs on the steam window. Store, Community, Games, Media...

If I right click the panel icon the tab list comes up. You click one and it opens steam on that tab. It won't open on the games tab.

It's just being generally glitchy...sometimes it comes up right, sometimes it doesn't. If it to not be touched by my window manager the opacity gets turned up to where it comes up almost invisible. Oh well, I usually turn off fancy effects to game anyways.

There's plenty of windows software running far better under wine than under native windows. :)
But hey, if I'd be a windows program, I'd rather run under wine, too. :p
