Yup, what they said. Screenlets. I found the Calendar one here:

    Calendar: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Clear+Calendar+Screenlet+-+iCal?content=66947

And the Weather came already installed with Screenlets.

Check this link out: http://kyleabaker.com/2008/10/25/multiple-desktop-wallpapers-in-ubuntu-810/ Hope that helps. :D

Still going with the gray theme. I got rid of my CSS stuff though. I changed a few other little things, but it's hard to really tell from these screens. Still haven't decided what colors conky should be, so I didn't have it running when I took this screen.

I've changed it a bunch again. Added mirror effect to skydome. I still haven't figured out what to do with conky. I also want to change panel color. My title bars and stuff are all gray, but the panel is still pretty much white.

I wish the image would get bigger than 640x400. It shows up correctly on my computer but shrinks when I upload to ImageShack. I even tried setting the Upload Size in ImageShack to 1280*1024. No dice.

So, what, chairs are the new "in" thing now?

I like the depth of Booboo12's, though.

@Booboo12, what's your screen's resolution? There's an option in Imageshack that says "do not resize" or something.

@sleepinginsomnic, I have to agree with zoryfl, the underscore is just a tad too long. But the hands remind me of the MMO (massive magnitude orgy) in Zion from the Matrix :D

Yep, actually through CrossOver Pro. (free giveaway, FTW! :D) It's pretty solid. All of the Office programs I've used in Linux so far (OneNote, Powerpoint, Word, Excel) have worked well. One downer, I can't copy and paste certain things between programs-I tried to copy a SmartArt graphic from Word to OneNote but couldn't get it to paste. I did this before in Windows Vista though... I'll soon try out Access as we will be using it in my Uni's Business Computer Systems class soon. I was planning to use Outlook, but was already using Evolution by the time I installed Office, so I haven't made the jump there either.

EDIT: Access, InfoPath, and Groove wouldn't load. :( The last two are no big deal to me, but Access is kinda important. Oh well, I'll just have to use that program in Windows. :)

Sure! :) I used AllMostBlack icon set from here

.. and dock icons for cairo-dock from here, using "elegance" theme for the clock

For the wallpaper, I just grayscaled one of my favorites.

I combined allmostblack and allblack into a new icon set. I liked some of the folder looks in allblack better. I left the trash icon from allblack though.

Reason #2133123 why I love linux: I can really spend hours playing with the look of my desktop environment.

If you are using Gnome right now, just remove all gnome-* packages and install kde.
Switching between them, both installed.. I do not think that is possible~

I do it all the time :p. I have three desktop environments, XFCE, KDE and GNOME, and all I have to do to switch between them is on the Log In window is click 'Options', and then 'Change Session', then select which ever one I want. The only problem is your menus can get cluttered with KDE applications and XFCE and visa versa.
    To install KDE you can follow several online guides;
    Graphically- http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/kde
    Command Line- http://www.debianadmin.com/install-kde-desktop-in-ubuntu.html
    Hope this helps,

And to install KDE in Ubuntu just install kubuntu-desktop, and you can switch at the log in screen(under options, and sessions).

Thanks you all. That's good to know. So I install the KDE packages, and then at the logon, specify which session/desktop environment. Cool.

Thomas, that's what I like so much about Linux, is that you don't have to have a bleeding edge computer to run awesome visual effects. :D
