XFCE 4.8 is really nice as well. You should give it a shot.

I did and am currently running it on a server and while I love the UI, its not stable for me. Ive tried a few other versions and it seems OK. But as always Im loving the stability and looks of gnome. My current setup works flawlessly for work and play.

I don't yet have a picture but on my other computer I recently installed Linux Mint which looks like this:

I'm loving it. I think it's because of the nice green colour.

I'm a bleeding edge lover so I couldn't do that. Xfce also doesn't offer as much shine, and ease of use as I would like.

Testing Fedora 15 (wi/ Gnome 3). I wasn't too impressed with the early Alphas's and Beta's, but it has gotten a bit better than it was early on. Still don't see this as a viable desktop solution for the intermediate-advanced OS user. Gnome 3 is miles ahead of Unity, and that's not saying much.

While this isn't my desktop, since I'm running a Dual Boot system, I replaced the Linux MInt dual boot screen with this one. Just something I threw together in about 30 sec, but I like the looks of it. This is the image that comes up when I choose Win 7/Mint to boot.

Sure, just found a few images that had black backgrounds and copy pasted. Then I saved them in .png format. Did that through windows. I suck at things like photoshop so I took the easy/classy/simple looking route. Then I saved it on my 1TB storage drive as linuxmint.png Thats the format and name of the original file. Then I booted into Mint, and opened "computer," then "File System," then opened "boot, then opened "grub." When I opened "grub" I did it as administrator. Then I copied the file into the grub folder and it prompted me to replace the file with the same name. Clicked yes.

    Exit, reboot, and admire.

Also goes well with my blue led alienfx keyboard :p

A bit late, but wondering how you got conky to look like that? I can get it transparent, but have no clue how to give it that bordered "full transparent app window" look.

The only thing I could find was a distaste for his decision on the name 'Fuduntu'. Rightly so maybe as the name suggests a fork of Ubuntu rather than Fedora.

I will say this, Fuduntu with Jupiter gives exceptional battery life, better than any distro I have tried. Also it is one of the better Fedora 'remixes' or forks out-of-box that I have tried.

So I'm not sure what the issues are exactly.

LeighLinux123 who's an admin there at Fedora Forums, bashed him the most....it's probably bull knowing this guy. He was on my forum (below) and we had to warn him and he left, ego in wheel-barrel and all :) But he was productive in backporting rpms for SL, I'll give him that! :)
