omg i have that problem from the time i try ur ...tutorial....overclocking q9000...thx m8 lol
-
there's like 2 previous available online from a single site + the latest from msi , that's 3 .. i'm sure i can get more IF i search better .. but i don't need to as i got all on a cd .. keep looking
-
also.. i should flash both EC and bios that are release the same day.? i mean its ok to hav last EC and old bios
-
Yea, it's a known issue with intel core 2 duo's (I've allways preferred AMD). Seems to be problematic for a lot of laptop brands, but not so much for MSI.
I believe it's in part related to power management.
Len, if you reflash with an unmodified older bios, then set everything back to factory standards, it just might clear up.
When you did your first flash, you had the option to backup the original bios. Did you save it?
And for cryin' out loud, if you do get it squared away, then feel you just HAVE to tweek the system, do so in small increments!!! Applying multiple tweeks can have opposite/adverse effects, not to mention causing hardware failure. -
i saved my original graphics bios and i have ready flash it with original one.mobo bios are original too.and lastest.v1.1.everything on original
-
No sunshine, if you're using bios v1.1 then it's not the one installed when you first fired up your system. Mine had v1.0u (I think), but I flashed it to v1.0z (couldn't find any compelling reason to go past that). Look, just because you can flash the cpu/gpu bios, it is generally NOT a good idea, UNLESS it provides corrections (for known problems) or enhanced support for hardware. If your not having issues, the bios should be left alone.
-
That's right , if it ain't broken , don't F fix it . He tend to ignore good advises .. you'll hear more
-
why ur saying that my system has failure? it works completely fine.flash and sound its just annoyying.so what u suggest me to do?
-
blast music, ignore the sound
.
Will you be trying to overclock q9000 lenaraaa? -
lol!! am lenarasssssss. not lenaraaaa lol..
maybe try to flash to that bios u have in tutorial and do it.also i should flash EC too??? if yes .why? -
... i have 2 windows...w7 32 and 64 bit.. while loading 32bit screen flash once maybe its normal without sound..load 64bit sound with flash..:/// maybe its a good reason for format and SSD!!!! i cant wait 1 minute to load to windows.... intel sdd the best??
-
If its a whiney sound though, you wont be able to fix it, the only time i've seen p series whine fix is by drowning the power components in some material (LOL) but not suggested.
CPU-z registers q9000 as two p7350 processors i think, cant remember (i know it did.) -
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/16916/1/
dirt 2 must have amazing graphics -
what do u mean by "whiney" explain me pls
.
also as i said while i boot to 32bit no sound at all -
have you seen the recommended specs ? amazing ...

Darth Bane Dark Lord of the Sith
This has probably been asked a thousand times, but I am getting my first ati card ever and would like to know how to overclock. Is it done through OC programs like evga precision? Or is it done by flashing bios (i hope not, never flashed an ati card before).
Also are ati regular drivers compatible with their mobile cards?, or do I have to find some special mobile-specific drivers like nviida has.
rep to anyone who answers. -
Get the driver from ati's website (the one related to your card , what card you getting ?) then use this http://driverheaven.net/modtool.php to mod it , pretty simple steps really . as for overclocking you can use the built-in overclocking thing , it's called overdrive or you can use this http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/overview.htm
EDIT : no you don't need to flash and the one from ati's website doesn't work straight out of the box when it comes to the mobile counterpart -
Darth Bane Dark Lord of the Sith
Thanks. rep to you.
I'm getting the 4850 mobility 1gb card that originally came form an alienware m17.
So to anyone who oc their card, what clocks have you oc too? -
That's the one from the market place right ? was looking at it and good price too .. great purchase man
. I can't go higher than 530/880 from 500/800 and max is 550/900 ( don't know if the clocks differs from the 512 version).. hopefully you have better luck with yours
ps : thanks for the rep -
lol it doesnt look that amazing though, like our laptop wont even be able to play it on low with those specs
-
thx for the help. rep - lol
-
Haven't seen any screen shots or vid yet , just the recommended specs
yeah it will definitely struggle
i'll stick with grid for yrs to come

Latest PC Format January edition has an interesting feature 'Finding Laptop Perfection.
The article concludes:
'Overall, laptop technology has come in leaps and bounds, and the likes of the MSI GT725 prove that mobile gaming needn't cost a fortune'
'This is one of the main reasons we loved the MSI GT725, and it still stands as one of the most impressive gaming laptops out there'.
After six months it seems I made a sound purchase. I still love it, and can see it lasting at least till the later end of next year.
My main desktop is just being used as a media server now, with very expensive kit inside I never use. Thanks MSI, and thanks to all who contribute to the forum thread. Cheers MSI owners club! -
Aye long live the machines, it definately still stands as one of the best in my eyes, i7 seems quite meaningless in this time to be honest and the graphics power is enough to live a long time
.
-
All hail the MSI GT725! *bows down*
-
im playing need for speed shift, til gran turismo comes out for my ps3
-
*not worthy*
lol I thank you all for giving me a few pages of, say, interesting reading material.
Sounds like cat's tutorial might be up, sorry I haven't had a chance to check the main page.
@ Darth Bane. The ATI Overdrive tool included in Catalyst Control Centre is fine for mild/medium overclocks. If you want to really get into overclocking and ATI card, you'll have to find a 3rd party program.
EDIT: P.s. could you post some pics of the touchpad protectors? I really wanna know what they look like...
And I'll write the cleaning tutorial for the 1722 over my 3 weeks off work, then post it when I get back. -
Darth Bane Dark Lord of the Sith
Does anyone know of a good 3rd party program to oc ati cards?
I will post some pics of the protectors when I get some new batteries for the camera. -
Cheers!
Techpowerup ATI Tool may be able to help you. I installed this once but it always crashed whenever I opened it. You may have more luck though. -
AVOID ati tools at any cost .. you don't need the headches trust me .. stick with the overdrive or use the one from the link .. it's more stable
-
Oh, ok, sorry I didn't realize it was that bad
...
-
chill dude .. ur not on trial here
had to re install windows coz of that crap , and since then my pc never been the same .. it goes too deep into the registry . don't want bane to ruin he's 1st ever ati card
-
I think I might cry myself to sleep tonight
Yeah we don't want Darth going running back to that nVidia crowd! -
I have a stupid question for you guys. I was looking at the specs for our laptop and noticed that it says only supports up to 4GB memory. I now have windows 7 64-bit and was wondering if I can actually upgrade my RAM past 4GB?
I have not opened up the machine to see how many slots it has, but I would not mind upgrading to 6GB or 8GB if possible.
One of the main reasons is Photoshop 64-bit, but i'm sure there will be more benefits.
Thanks! -
we have 2 slots and yes it can support 6 to 8 . are you sure you want to spend that much on memory ?
-
What's the avg. cost of a 4gig stick?
-
are you from the UK ? right now on ebuyer.com you can get a single 4gb stick @ 115£ (christmas sale)
-
I'm from the US. Seems they're going around $120-150 for a stick....I think I will wait a while
-
damn ! it's cheaper in the US ! check NBR marketplace , there was a guy called mexicansnake selling 2 stick of 4 .. might be still available
-
Gah nvm, fail post.
-
Just played the Dirt 2 Demo for a bit. It looks Beautiful. I have it at 1680x1050, high, and 4x MSAA. I didn't measure the FPS, but it was flawless at those settings. It'll be a while til we have to turn any game down to low on this beast.
Edit: FPS right around 30 -
I use Photoshop CS4 a lot and can't say I notice any problems with only 4 gig. So long as I don't go crazy although I often have 3DS Max and so on open at the same time.
I'm a full time proffesional games illustrator (Sid Meiers Pirates, Harry Potter, Lego, etc
(
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2md2s68&s=6 typical example)and work with an A5 wide WACOM pad (at home, A4 at work)and never have lag or slow down on large files, so I guess you need to consider if you'll really notice the benefit.
-
That's excellent, well done. You're very talented.
-
Thanks. I work with some very talented people too, scary how good some of them are. The team work to a very high standared.
At any rate from a professional point of view I just can't rate the MSI highly enough straight out of the box, it's good for just about any graphics job. -
Wish i could draw etc.. That's awesome..
Makes you wonder what other jobs/skills people on this forum are doing!!
-
Lenarasss,
You using the 9.12 drivers yet? From what i've read on the ATI/AMD forums a lot of people with W7 64 and 4000 series cards are having issues?
You had any probs? -
hmm , wasn't expecting that after seeing the R.Specs .. guess the beast is not injured yet . is the game any good though ? thanks for the heads up neil
I 2nd that , we have a very talented fish on board
Any serial killer here ?
PS: new firmware available at msi for those who wants to screw up their pc a little -
