Yeah vulvina I know you're a dude... when I read your second post I was like "lol omg he was serious."

    You got me there.

I guess I'd really better get a move on and update my video drivers. I'm still on 9.8 lol.

On the note of t.vs, I'm still with a 480p CRT lol. WAY behind.

Congrats on your vantage score cat, what CPU and GPU clocks were you running btw?

And has anyone looked into fitting a HD5*** in this laptop? I love this laptop so I don't want to have to buy a whole new one just for a newer video card.

the screenshot goes in this sequence:

    Everest ultimate
    Speedfan
    Coretemp

the images all come from the same printscreen

i hope you guys know something more about it, and what one i can trust

All that talk of sub zero reminds me of the days I had a Prometeia Mach II GT Phase Change Cooler on my old desktop.. That would be mental on a GT725, although totally impractical. :)

Those old prescotts could OC some!! I used to have a 3.04Ghz running at about 5.2Ghz (stable as well!!)

Thats a pretty dam nice overclock, i'd love to rig up the gt725 to some insane cooling system but for now this'l have to do :).

I recon i could breach 7000 easy to be fair, i dont think my machines at its limit yet! but im going to give it a bit of a break, benching for 2 days flat running a benchmark each 10 mhz on any clock :).

But something went completely wrong with the first test, those are the results i achive when using overdrive only so i wonder what went wrong.

Maybe its because i set it off straight after i booted up :/.

The scores should be much higher actually, im going to re-steadily up the clocks again till i find out why the kate test didnt do so well.

Don't mean to add to your confusion, but you might want to check out RealTemp. It was designed primarly for Intel chipsets and was written to Intel's specs. That being said, the first two are in agreement, so I think you could probably ignore the third.

Vantage runs, every 10 mhz, i do a run (either a jane run or a calsio) and just keep going from there.

My clocks crashed with the core at 560/950, so you have to be very careful with core clocking!

is there any chance to overclock vram more and take less score ?
i dont think so.and its sooo annoying to wait vantage....SOOO!!! also its not correct.i have w7 32 and 64 bit
same ccc came clocks but 32 is clear without anyprograms installed or smth and i took more on 32bit..
so does programs and dirty windows affect gpu score??

Yeah i have to say vantage is quite bad, because you do solo runs you get higher frames then mixed runs!

Still i win lenarras! Haha :D do some more runs?

Vantage eats the GPU, even if it is a benchmark, its one of the tests that does actually count.

Although i may do some crisis and check the frames when running a pretty high OC.

hows the p95 selling btw, and did the quad arrive?

    Hehe challange accepted ;)

Again, hardware can be different... enviromental factors, manufacturing differences (even completely small) there are many different things to think about.

Agreed dead, UT3 is awesome, i'd take it over crysis for sure. but year raw gaming figures of synthetic for sure.

Vantage would be fair if everyone did runs at native, because thats the real situation scenario.

Haha, my msi has "Balls of steel".

The memory has been pushed to 1125mhz by a friend before, but i think there is a comprimise, core clock or memory clock, i did have 1 critical failure when the core was at 560 and memory at 950 (which is fairly low.) but then again 550 seems stable, its not artifacting but sometimes gives strange gliches.

Using standard overdrive, i was happy to find i could hit 6375 on vantage p with optimisation to my system.

m8 ur bother with 0.000001 difference between laptops. even a child wont bother bout it.i will study virtual engineering and i know that i will design a mobo for example with a programing language and then manufact some samples to see that its work 100% and then manufact 1000000 BUT from same programmed language!!!
    ur 99% wrong
1% true because someone maybe have 100 viruses 100 porns 100 programs open so that laptop looks like 10years old

Unfortunately thats not just the case, and you can see for example people having the exact cpus, but not being able to overclock them to the same level, this i dont know why, and intel makes there products to one mark, but there not completely pushed and manufactured so that they can overclock to heaven or hell.

Hardware, although very different, can vary from different external factors, and i've generally found this to be true.

besides how crazy have you optimised your system for benching?

Tests!? Nobody told me there were gonna be tests! I didn't study.

Yes real world is what counts. OC'ing is as much an art as it is a science. Hardware is only one part of the equation. No offense Len, but just because someone else managed to get certain scores, doesn't necessarly mean everyone can match them.

Maybe I'm an old git, but I just assumed the point of playing XYZ game was for the pleasure. Seems to me your waisting waaay too much time fretting over something that, in the end won't enhance the exeperience as much as you're hopping it will.

Well the scores are quite easy to achive, but there inaccurate, (mine would be over 7000 at my native res, where as someone with the same hardware (real time) and a res of 1080p would be much lower, thats why i dont favour vantage too much.

(i know alot of people that could kill my score actually haha,) but im just saying, sometimes the hardware cant be pushed asmuch as to what you would like it to.

Im hoping my machine now survives a week because i've pushed it fairly hard today, and with the core crash, i wasn't too happy but things happen. (the last thing i clocked fairly hard and broke a day later was ram lol.)

But yeah, maybe we should get some runs down for some normal games?

mad thing is with all the questions lenarass sometimes asks its amazing he hasnt bricked his laptop yet. fair play, go for it.. im not really that bothered re scores or fps.. if a game doesnt do the job ill be upset.. so far it's perfect..... i'm not having a go.. i think you (lenarasss) are brave to flash gpu etc.. braver than me. i'll start caring when my laptop starts freezing/lagging.. .. i'm on 9.10 and no overclock and everything has been perfect. I have no desire to upgrade anything but drivers. :)

    Now for the magic.

    What magic, its christmas.

I dont mind either, every single game i've played works at native res and full detail.

I just mess with clocks for fun!

And the vantage score below shows our machines can pack some rediculous heat when clocked up. :D

Ours is a very powerful single gpu solution to the gaming market :)

Haha, well here it is, i have indeed found a tool that ignores driver restrictions (thus how i got to 1000 on the memory clock(, theres a catch though, you have to slowly push the clocks, you cant set some high factor clocks apply and try to run the bench/program, it'l bug out, so with slow 10mhz increments it can get to some nice high clocks without problem.

Would folks like a hefty christmas tutorial?

This is good (no flashing vbios, no warrenty loss ;) )
So it is hidable if things screw up.

If i do the tutorial i'd probably do it with the cpu overclock tutorial i did a while back.
