would be awesome if you did. i gave up my oc days on old desktop with a mach 2 gt.. never got into laptop oc tho. so everything you can tell me is good dude
-
-
Dude you starting to sound just like me
share the pain
Anyway i don't have a processor any more so no heavy gaming this Christmas for me , gonna be F boring ! i took everything off , heat sink etc. etc. and the gap is immense ! i though using thermal paste would do the trick i was wrong .. need to find some 3mm thermal pad
-
Self portrait of yourself ?
-
Lol haha? what about thermal paste, copper block (2/3mm) thermal paste?
Apparently pads are not tooo good when it comes to transfering but i may be wrong, need some test results. -
i don't like it either but don't really have a choice have i , the gap is way too big for thermal paste http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=66&products_id=981 .. will try some mx-3 on it as its quite thick and gooey
-
Ok man, let me know how it turns out
-
no prob , in the meantime i'm going back to my studio 15 for some "retro" gaming .. half-life & riddick here i come
EDIT I'm downloading braid @ 6.3kb/s ........ -
Haha awesome man, im a massive fan of half life, never played riddick tho.
-
Half life is awesome ! can't wait for episode 3 AND blackmesa IF it ever get released .. hopefully not another duke nukem forever crap
riddick is awesome you should try it , it's the best movie to game ever . bought dark athena on steam today but will have to wait a while to try it
-

I havent played portal either, its been reccomended to me alot though. -
yeah lost coast is sweet haven't finished it tho .. i stopped playing when i reached that church(was it) , the computer voice in portal gets on my nerves ! apart from that the game is a blast ! seriously dude play it
i think tomorrow i'll give HL2 another go i soo wanna play ravenholm again ! that's the best part of it
-
Father grigori brother, father grigori, the concept is unimaginable, its fantastic, thats such a winner for me.
-
RIP father grigori
tried to extract the bios from my 3450 but failed .. that thing is locked up ! thanks dell
-
RIP? I dont expect him to be dead!
, haha dell sometimes are quite harsh with there bios', they lock them donw tight.
-
wanted to blow his head off when i 1st saw him
have you played Episode 2? yeah man ! f*** tight .. got 4 bsod already from trying .. i gave up , i'm off to bed good night
-
Really? i wonder why, i havent had the chance but i'll look into it.
Have a good night man (hurayy for christmas eve
)
-
Hey Dead! This might help, it's from BIOSMAN Inc: "AMI has an embedded recovery technique in the 'boot block' of the BIOS".
Details here: http://www.biosman.com/biosrecovery.html
Oh, and LOVE the new avatar!
EDIT: Has info for Award bios too. -
Portal is a brilliant game, just don't play Crysis before or you'll be disappointed with the graphics lol.
-
Dead? I hear he's back in ep3
.
Oh, and back to my question from a few pages back, any chance of cramming a HD5*** into the 1722? -
This is gonna sound SUCH a noob question but here goes.
Cataclysm (or anyone else). What software did you use for your signature picture (and your old one). I want to add one but every time I get the image, put into paint or something it either becomes tiny or it's too big (file size wise!! AGH!!! What file format you using too? -
Excellent, i just hope hes back as he is, not zombie fied, valvified, nothing, the same old father grigori i knew.
Theres probably a very minor chance one of the hd cards work, lets hope MSI concider a 5850 i7 machine ey
-
Double thanks
but i'm on phoenix , both vbios and main bios has the dell padlock .. impregnable
Sorry for the early Christmas eve disappointment but i don't see it happening as it will need more power , better cooling and probably DDR3
i use paint .. i gave up on the sig thing as my last one was controversial  loads of moderators was on my A**
Hopefully as a zombiefied bad*** priest  -
I used photoshop, you just need to make sure you get yourself a good file size
(unless your on a 1080p screen) and dont forget, the forum has restrictions! (its also a pain in the @** trying to get the right size too (yep they have size restrictions also)
-
Well if you want the easy way out, I found mine online at Internet Bumper Stickers.
For making your own, I recommend IrfanView. It's free and easy to use. I've been using it since, well almost forever. The program was written by a young guy from Bosnia, and despite being touted as a simple graphics viewer, it's capable of so much more, especially if you install the extra plugins (they're free too).
EDIT: Forgot to add, pixel size you want to reduce to is 250w x 40h. Keep the file size down by reducing color depth, and safe as GIF. -
Coreldraw. You can add a jpeg, crop and everything, then export to a specified resolution.
-
Just another reason I dislike Dells.
Impregnable? Maybe not...
-
lol I thought my M1710 was the greatest thing on Earth. Then I thought I'd upgrade to the M1730. Biggest mistake I've ever made.
Buying a GT725 = Best laptop related purchase I've done.
EDIT: And Cat, whats stopping you from pulling a chair up to your fridge and just sitting the lappy in there for benching
?
-
Im afraid that if i push the clocks too high, that fridge will end up a steam room!
Besides whats wrong with 6801
.
-
Haha yeah you don't want off milk lol.
But what's wrong with 6801? It's so close to 7000!!!
Nah seriously, you've made all us MSI boys proud cat. -
Haha, well heres to MSI, merry christmas people!
-
Merry Christmas
-
Also, I just got a 1TB external hard drive, and am currently running it into my msi through esata. When i copy files from the external hdd to my msi, it starts at over 100mbps, but then progressively drops to around 30-40mbps, and the computer becomes dead slow.. like even takes 5 seconds to skip a track in itunes. Has anyone else had a similar experience? or even uses esata?
Blazin -
Hmm thats odd, i know it occassionally happens though, hows your CPU usage at that point?
Edit: The 4850 is cooler when it runs on a 1080p screen + res. (Modern warfare 2 runs fluently on max with no aa also!! O.O)
-
So far it has been
it's my last ever Dell notebook anyway .. i'll stick with msi
I second that !
Merry Christmas to all ! -
I have been like experiencing like a 1 sec lag, with most games, its definitely driver related, I have 9.11, about to do 9.12. Should I uninstall 9.11, then install 9.12, or install 9.12 over it, and should I just be downloading the display driver, or the wdm driver, display, and ccc package, from the ATI site to mod? This issue is really annoying
-
I agree, i have too mark, from 9.12, mainly in cod and at 1080p (so ive been using overclocks to try to compensate, but its seriously p'in me off :/)
-
uninstall and run driver cleaner (if desired) , get the complete package and mod it
Not me
i'm still using msi's one
-
Stuttering also effecting hawx.
Took deads advice to go back to MSI drivers, massive performance drop when at high frames however at low frames (30 huraaaay), zero stuttering, going to test cod now.
Cod looses a bomb of performance (maybe not enough vram for 1080p?) not sure if its stutter free,
Strange 25% on graphics usage when idling on the desktop, could be causing the problems but unable to identify what it is (even when running in minimal config mode.) -
How come on idle ur pc uses 25% of graphics ? you got aero and all that crap on ? all my games plays fluently , no stuttering , performance been good so far . How's hawk ? is it any good ? shame we don't have ace combat on pc ....
performance will definitely decreases on 1080p , especially on more graphics demanding games -
Yeah i cant understand, and im using classic theme, 0% aero at all (all settings off) The games picked up with MSI drivers, but have lost some performance due to the drivers being MSI (minor performance) but no stuttering as far as i recall, may do a reinstall of windows, see if i missed anything.
Hawx, (for me anyway) is fantastic. Enough said, the combats rediculously good, you should give the demo a shot (and airdrifting makes the game all worth while!)
But yeah, im thinking i get stuttering due to the 1080p res and 512 mb memory, which is a shame, i will have to just console game on my new tv lol
, dont know really, i am ancious to know what is causing the performance usage of the gpu randomly when sat idling on the desktop.
MSI drivers are using 0% gpu. -
Aero is a memory hog , it's off on mine too and everything else on performance , even cleartype is off
Did a clean install last week on my 725 , I do that like every 3 to 4 months just to keep things fresh , with w7 it's a blast ! but when it comes to vista ......... i might pick it up , i'm in need of some flying s*** .
try gaming without ur screen and see how it goes
what's using the 25 then ? could be your external screen -
I did the driver cleaner thing, and Im still getting stuttering when playing Cryostasis. I am getting pretty frustrated cause Its playable FPS and everything just the stuttering is reaaaaaallllllly annoying
-
Damn that's 2 people stuttering .. did you removed everything ATI related or just the driver ? out of curiosity , how do you guys installed the modded driver ? device manager , have disk , INF blah blah or just run the .exe ?
-
I removed everything ATI related, then downloaded 9.12 for 32 bit vista, then ran the thing, so that it installs the files to the ATI folder, then mod that folder with mobilitymodder, then run the setup.exe that is located in the ATI 9.12 folder
-
Yep to be honest I have some issues with the 9.12 Ati driver.... My pointer goes crazy sometimes, and for example sometimes in crysis the cursor is not exact, this is weird its like pointing to another position.
-
its 9.12 and 9.11 for me, and maybe previous ones idk
-
I had that on the 9.8 drivers. Just have a bit of a fiddle with the resolution and all will return to the realms of normal lol
-
9.12 and hotfix WORKING AWESOME!ahahahahahahahha
no overclock at ALL and am playing my lovely game PERFECT!!!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA -
Good point lena, will give hotfix a go, is it an install that needs mobility modding?
-
Yes they have to be modded.
