I know someone who does , just waiting for him to reply back
Mainly processor , and we should stop dreaming about msi releasing a bios for quads on turbo .. they said the system is not stable over 4%

I was stable at 2.4 GHz, 20%, then IDA pushed it to 2.7 (stable even then) but my ram died shortly after so i wasnt willing to try it again :p Although the new hyundai ram seems qu ite reliable.

I dont think lena has the right bios's to OC quad tho.

2.4 is good for a Q9000 .. If you have issues with your current ram you can take it to your local garage :p He's using .Z I think .. which one is more appropriate ? i will give the OC another go in a week or 2 .. right now i got so many games to try (thank you steam sale :D)

    ... or may be more

 OMG! You don't understand, and still want to max out your system!?! See this site for help... Beginners Guides: Overclocking the CPU, Motherboard & Memory

As for "dead ram", that can result from trying to seriously overclock lower grade ram, causing it to fail. That's one of the risks you take trying to OC. You could potentially kill your CPU or even the GPU if you push it too far. How can you not know this?

I see an accident waiting to happen...

There are always risks to be fair, although MSI did design the machines to overclock, thus we have ccc overdrive as well as the dominant oc button for duals.

Cos it doesn't work anymore. ;) . Okay i'm being facetious.

Chances are your laptop won't boot, you'll get BIOS beeps, if it does (boot) you could check in system information.

Dual Dynamic Acceleration technology boosts CPU performance by means of increasing frequency of any one CPU core when any other CPU core is idle, that is when the other CPU core is in Deep Sleep or lower power state. The CPU may also increase frequency of two of its cores when two other cores are idle. Frequency in Core 2 Quad Mobile CPUs is usually increased by 266 MHz.
This feature was introduced in Intel Core 2 Quad Mobile CPU family and is applicable only to quad-core CPUs. Similar feature in dual-core processors is called Intel Dynamic Acceleration technology. Newer Intel microprocessors based on Nehalem core utilize improved version of IDA called Turbo Boost Technology

Intel Dynamic Acceleration technology (IDA) is a feature that boosts CPU performance when the CPU is running single-threaded applications. This is achieved by temporary increasing frequency of one CPU core when another CPU core is idle, i.e. when the second CPU core is in Deep Sleep or lower power state. How much the frequency is increased depends on front-side bus speed of the CPU:
    533 MHz FSB - by 133 MHz
    800 MHz FSB - by 200 MHz
    1066 MHz FSB - by 133 or 266 MHz
This feature was introduced in Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile microprocessor family and is applicable only to dual-core CPUs. Quad-core processors incorporate Dual Dynamic Acceleration feature, which works similar to IDA. Newer Intel microprocessors based on Nehalem core utilize improved version of IDA called Turbo Boost Technology.

Yea, but we're talking about Len here, you know... the guy who reads every other post! :D (no offese Len :p )

BTW, your sig lists a Blu-Ray unit. Was thinking of pulling my Optiarc DVD and putting in a Blu-Ray, but kinda undecided about which one. Not to mention slot vs tray.

Do I need it? Nope. Want to do it, just 'cause.

    Comments welcome.

True ! :D .. i have an optiarc BD ROM BC-5500S (@ around £130/$211) Tray for me any day ! ! i'm having too much trouble with the slot-load on my studio 15 .. sometimes DVD got stuck in it and the only way to remove it is after a restart , + the if you put a slot-load , the only way to remove your DVD would be through my comp/right click/eject as you don't have any touch or switch to eject

@ lena , you need to rep 5 other people in order to rep me again (to prevent some repping(does that word exist? :p) the same person multiple times)

EDIT2: That is what we are trying to do , lock it on all for cores . Cata managed to do it on 1 thread if i remembered correctly ... he can give you some tips if you are willing to give it a go

Then its none of them, but what is it? Were not getting FSB increments, just multi increases, unless its on about total clock (after speed and multi has been calculated.)

And how the heck did you lock the multi!

@ lena , 2.4 should be very stable with no killing(s) involved ! :p Going higher is a risk though

Nothing much TBH .. With EIST on the multi & clocks runs @ 2.6/10x respectively . when it's off it goes down to 2.3/9x ..

I'm loving my Q9200 :D ES is the way to go

Leave the rams alone , using setfsb to Overclock your CPU will increase your ram frequency anyway. can you post a screenshot of cpu using HWinfo ? 1 with turbo off and the other with turbo on ? just need to check something (with speed step on & off)
