Maybe try driver sweeper? Ive used it before mainly to delete nvidia drivers. I think i like driver cleaner more

hmm, i tried installing the drivercleaner but it says drivercleaner registration and asking for serial number and something else.

 

I tried searching everyehere to dl the drivercleaner but it says i have to purchase it. Meh, I ended up buying it anyway only 10 bucks

WOW, For some reason I cant even use 3dMark06, right when it starts, it says the driver has recovered something like that.. Right when it starts 3DMARK06 where their on the spaceship, it freeezes right there and then it will say something the driver has recovered.. argh

you should have download from Tester's link. The Correct Installation: #1

If you download from his link, there is a second fold that helps with Driver Cleaner keys.

my guess would be the video drivers. are you sure you updated to 9.4? I had this similar problem when i ran 3DMark06 and 3DMarkVantage.

 

this is why i avoid using driver cleaning and why i avoided 9.4. people noticed a spike on recovery errors on 9.4 on www.rage3d.com catalyst forums. i would probably revert and install dna 9.2 or stock 9.3 (which has the yummy cpu/dependant game fps boost). Its in my humble opinion if you wipe the modified settings for your card made by msi that ATI is clueless about it is an invitation to instability. But there is no proof on this and this is just gut feeling without absolutely no evidence to back me up. (Other than i don't have vpu recovery errors)

 

Hey smiter, yawp, it says 9.4. I followed the instructions but thats what happened. I couldnt even run 3dmark at all. My computer would freeZe up. So what i did i downloaded 9.2 dna. Followed instructions installed 9.2 driver and cat. Now everything is welldone. On my driver cleaner i deleted ati/atiinstallmanager/atihdmiaudio/cccc. Been great so far.

What i dont understand, the first time i installed 9.4 i did not have any pro blems using the 3dmark and i had no errors.

I reinstalled 9.4 just because i wasnt satisfied enough and i had something saying , something is not working. So i unimstalled then installed again the proper way. Then after that, thats when problem started.

Yeah, the MSI's cool down fast, im guessing its about 86-89 with OC on though.

 

I was amazed tho, I only saw 79*C max everytime it switches. The First GPU test, when it switched to the desktop, I saw 79*C on the catalyst. Same with the GPU test 2 (forest with lights going up n ) Gpu test 3 when the dragon was on the water and flies up. GPU test 4 on the snowy place. All i saw was 79*C.. really amazed did not go up beyond that. Tonight Ill do benchmarks with all the games that I got. Crysis and so on. I gota go to school now. cee ya later folks!

 

I just placed my order for a GT725-074US from Newegg. I'm looking forward to adding some GTA IV benchmarks when I get it. I just hope I get used to the skinny period and question mark keys.

 

frankly, of all the complaints about the gt725, i'd say there is only one legitimate one. keep in mind, this is coming from someone who is really only an amateur computer user in the big scheme of things. i would contend most of us are anyhow..

-the tiny period and question mark keys.. you get used to it. i don't really ever think to myself "F'''ING SMALL KEY."
-the trackpad.. it works fine. is it picking up grease/dust? sure. what wouldn't? it's not by any means a dealbreaker, for me at least. i don't even think about it while i'm using it. besides, i'm sure most of us bought this laptop for gaming. who games w/o a mouse?

-the one thing that i believe is a legit grips is the wireless. this thing has some really bad days staying connected to my university wireless. would a better wifi card fix this? i don't know anything about wireless cards so i couldn't answer that. perhaps someone else could. i don't know what would increase signal strength. in any case, i have no idea what to buy either and how to install it.

 

Newegg is the sheet man! I ordered thursday 10am , got it friday at 6:08pm lol. Thats with that free shipping 3-5days ground. Their support is unbeatable also. No wait on the phone. Their rma department is also top notch. I have ordered my g50vt-a2 from them and it was overheating. Rma'd wednesday, they got it thursday right away. Only took 1 day or half a day for them to replicate my problem. I got a replacement right away. If you have any questions and want it to be fast, go to eggxpert and get a hold of one of them representative, they are very helpfull.

As for the laptop, some of the keys are really damm small, but you'll get used to it in no time. For the fn and ctrl, man i play shooting games most of the time, got crouch on ctrl and i just find my self used to it right away. Especially on counter strike, i crouch alot almost my finger is stuck on the ctrl keep on clicking it.

For the skinny period and question marks, i still having trouble with it, sometimes when i click the period, it doubles or triples, lol but its all good man. Nothing to worry about.

I recently purchased the MSI GT725-075US version. I have some questions about the Realtek ALC888S onboard soundcard.

My issue is I have a 5.1 headset that uses three 3.5mm jacks for the speakers and a 3.5mm jack for the microphone (total of 4 jacks). In the MSI manual it says to use the Microphone jack for the Center/Sub channel, which leaves me with only the Line Out jack empty. My issue is I can't get the microphone to function when using the 5.1 setup.

On the Realtek website it says that the ALC888S chipset includes jack re-tasking (This is something that I've used in the past with other Realtek soundcards with much success). However, it doesn't appear to be working with my laptop. I'm just curious if anyone else who shares my scenario has any type of solution/suggestion.

WOW this is plain ridiculous, I just installed Crysis Warhead and Guildwars, and I have more to install like FEAR2 FAR CRY2 GTAIV CoD4 CoDWAW Fallout 3.. But damm there is a message that says " LOAD MM DRIVER APPLICATION HAS STOPPED WORKING " THEN how AM I SUPPOSE TO EFFING PLAY? Counter Strike Plays Fine but thats about it. Geeze man.

EDIT: Nvm, I uninstalled 9.2 driver, Installed 9.4 CAT AGAIN. This time it was a success. No more driver errors. Ran 3dMark06 Turbo/Overclock 540/890 Got 10382

 

Doing great man, i say that you install ozone3d furmark, run at native res, stability test, GPU temp logging and xtreme burning mode, that will use 100% of the gpu, leave it for 10 minutes and report back

Ozone displays temps on screen but if it gets to 90 i think it will throttle down the clocks as it conciders 90 being peek of the safe zone

 

Mine goes to 99*C w/o extreme burning, i jus pressed esc.
Couldnt see my laptop going to 100*C and this is when room temp is 26*C.

I think the thermal paste is bad or nt at all present in my lappy.

 

Isnt that dangerous tho for my notebook lol. I want more life with my rig. But, ill do it for ya!! Im at work righg now so yea. Ill report back.

 

You should use a cooler. I like that antec dual ballbearing fans. It blows air at the bottom of the laptop instead of drawing hot air. Ill get one later. I always hear a buzzing noise in my gpu, nothing serious tho but its buzzing espexially in crysis and 3dmark06. I hope this is normal.

 

For crysis warhead, man, i run it at native 1680x1050 no turbo/no overclock its so playable. All at gamer settings. Im happy with that. Temp reqches about 81*C max. Id be more happy to see the fps. But, my console doeant work doesnt drop down. Anyone know how to enable this? Let me knoe please.

 

Even my console does nt drop down in Crysis Warhead.
Bt very ironically my lappy runs cool during Warhead and GTA IV.
Max at around 80*C and 76*C in IV.
Crysis at native res and gamer settings.

I dont know why the console would not drop, its just last week i was playing with it on my gateway 7805u. I have a console and i could type r_displayinfo 1 to see my fps. If anyone know the fix for this let me knoe. I would lovexto see how much fps im getting. On some forum, i think they go on crysis folder and add some code to enable the console. I think on the .exe, i dont know the code tho.

There is no annoying sound.
In fact it is lesser than the conventional Dell, HP laptops.

I think my fans are nt kicking in.
Can updating drivers, firmware, bios bring any change?
Even my ram is stuck at 667 where it is graded for 800.

 

BTW, i just discovered than HD 4870 is 550/888 so it is attainable on OC the HD 4850 500/850.
And nt any Mobility HD 4870 hv come up with GDDR5.
Of course nt on mine.

 

I have a feeling it requires more than just a slight overclock to achieve the 4870 scores. But hey, who knows, if nvidia can o/c their chips and rebrand it a whole new generation, anything goes.

I'm still waiting on my gt725 to arrive but I plan on installing windows 7 64 bit RC1. Is that a good idea? Will I still be able to turbo with 64 bit? I read in one post that some person was able to get turbo to work in 64 bit but that was the *only* post. No extra info. Heck is installing win7 a good idea at all with this laptop?

If u compare to HD4870 in AsusW90 then OC a Hd4850 to 4870 scores is possible coz hd4870 also uses GDDR3.

 

You can use the desktop drives but have the clocks run at normal desktop clocks, tester did, and broke 12k for 06

625mhz core, 993mhz memory. I'm sure someone bold enough could hit it. I wonder if Tester can tell us what the voltage stages are when he uses RBE to modify the BIOS.
