did you apply thermal paste on the graphics card ram??
also i will post the question again...why ocd my gpu at 550/900 when i play for hours cod4 with 500/850?
-
nah the stock thermal paste will be better for that, because theres about a 5mm gap between the RAM and heatsink.
-
Display driver tut has been changed to use 9.8. Enjoy.
-
is there any program that can ajust your notebook fan ? or edit the existing setting to speed up on lower temps
thanks -
Didn't we just finish saying use google and the search feature before posting? Surely we did. It would be quicker too.
-
omg:/// i already did that.i cant find anything..thats why i am asking.anw i wont post here again..bb
-
no thats not what I meant sorry. In answer to your question, try ati tool. sorry if that sounded mean, im just frustrated.
-
haha not to make you more mad, but i looked that up and there is no vista support
on a side note does anyone here play fallout 3? and if so does ur laptop random lag when you use vats , i get like 60 fps constant so its weird
-
I use ATI tray tool with Vista. You can't control fans with it, but that's because pretty much only Dell and Sager have controllable fans.
-
I had the same issue .. use Ccleaner's Unistaller from there you will see a long list of installed CCC .. when it's done then you can try installing the one from MM
-
Are you on drugs ???????? i asked you before and you said you Fcking played for hours on 550/900 .. now you saying 500/850 .. do you know how to use overdrive ? or just tryimg to be clever ?
-
you said me to oc and play for 30minutes and tell you if something is going wrong.i told you thats everything is fine and then i am back to stock 500/850 and with that timmings am playing cod for hours perfect..ok now?
-
Ccleaner? What is this Ccleaner you speak of???
EDIT: A quick google search found it
EDIT 2: I installed it but can't find the list of installed CCC. (Great program though) -
Hey does anyone wanna swap their win7 upgrade licence for a touchpad protector? Anyone?
-
Hehe i would if i had one, but my vista's taken a sweet upgrade itself at the minute
-
If you don't tell me how you did that I'm going to beat the crap out of you Michael. (somehow
)
-
Does it stay transparent while maximized?
-
I have a quick question. Im noticing a millisecond of lag every few seconds on my gt275-74 while playing far cry 2, Im using the 9.8drivers someone linked, should i go back to 9.7?
-
If it's noticably better, I don't see why not.
-
Do you have the 9.7s still? Cuz I've gottem if you needem.
-
well are 9.8's working for you? and no i dont have em but i think they are on ati's site
-
9.8 works fine for me. I was playing Race Driver Grid for about half an hour online just then, with no noticable lag or other issues. Your may very well be different though. You probably won't find the 9.7 drivers on the ATI site now that the 9.8s are out. I can host them for you if you want and if you find a place to host. They're obviously too big to post here.
-
What OS are you running? I've only got the drivers for Vista 64 sorry.
-
often the milisecond lag every few seconds is really a Disc access thing 80% of the time. I would turn of the windows indexing service, search service, and evaluate what background programs are running (virus scanners set to aggressive detection) then try out the game if it disappears its not the driver just too much Disc accessing. (some programs make the cpu wait till they get the info they want from the disc before freeing the processor to do other things) Spyware and trojans can also cause this.
might want to look at black vipers gaming services configuration a go (just be careful with some of his suggestions) and remove and disable all but the necessary stuff to run your OS (boot up programs, program helpers, crapware, and useless upgraders like java and adobe quickstart etc)
http://www.blackviper.com/ -
can anyone tell me a program which does the above.? remove all (boot up programs, program helpers, crapware, and useless upgraders like java and adobe quickstart etc) to speed up the pc..i have uniblue and tuneu
putilities 2009 and are both grap.. -
I followed that guide I notice I still have upward 70 proccesses at any given time, 30% ram usage, I really have a feeling its the drivers. Or something, I didnt get the 9.8 drivers from the website I got them from someone elses link, so anything else before I redo the drivers? -
type software explorer into the search tab in vista/windows 7
then delete / disable all you want.
For services youll have to do a bit more research on which ones you can disable. indexing/gadgets is a good start -
go into tools , uninstall , there you will see a long list of installed programs on ur pc .. scroll down and look for ccc-utility64 bla bla .. uninstall all ccc related thingy and installed the new one from the 9.8 you've modded
that little prog is awesome .. been using it for a long time now no issues whatsoever , you can even use it to tweak ur startup prog , registry and all ..
EDIT - i did a clean installed on w7 last night .. so far no driver crashing , going out to look for some thermal paste (if i can get some) -
i have 52 processes and 24% physical memory .. check ur start-up prog , there's loads of stuff running that ur not really using .. also go into "services" and disable stuff you don't need .. be careful not to disable important microsoft crap though
-
well on a fresh install i had like 61 processes running plus i use an external creative x-fi sound card that has a few processes, and itunes has alot of useless processes i cant get rid of, plus i dont like disabling stuff without help cause everytime i do i gotta reformat soon after lol
p.s. do you guys leave all the toshiba processes running? -
hrmm. well run spybot and make sure ya have no spyware/adware. then if all else fails uninstall ati. run ccleaner or reg cleaner pro and wipe all traces of ati stuff and do a fresh install. I had a problem with 9.7's it killed my Catalyst control center. so I installed MSI's catalyst then i just installed the display driver from the cat 9.7's and all has been rosy since. I am gonna stab at the 9.8's tomorrow.
70 processes is a lil above normal but it also depends on what ya have listed to run. 30% ram is actually fairly good for 70 processes.
My boot up list is synaptics driver, the media keys thing, avira, and zone alarm and CCC and ati tool (just for the ingame FPS, temps, and clock monitoring while i play)
everything else i take off the list -
i got rid of the toshiba bluetooth thingy software takes too much space (bluetooth works fine without it installed) , itunes crap you can disable , like "bonjour" , etc etc unless you use that thing .. like i said try the services thing .. highlight em and you will see their purposes and stuff .. (create a system restore point so that you can go back if you F-up )
In my start-up i got avira , ccc , realtek control panel and system control manager .. that's all -
Here is a list of my comp guys
any recommendations off the top of your heads?
p.s. guess thats a little hard to read but its ok to uninstall the bluetooth stuff? -
there's loads in ur startUp
.. untick steam , itunes , torrent , toshiba bluetooth - stack , realtek control center ,anyway untick all EXCEPT ccc , system control cernter , ur antivirus thing & firewall and the raid event thingy ( intel matrix ....) !
-
Is that using something like Stardock Windows Blinds?
http://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds
Blazin -
hmm i unticked them all i dont wanna do creative cause that smy soundcard
lol wow did i go overboard? and the memory is steadily at 24% not 32% its probably higher cause that was right when i loaded up
p.s. still the millisecond of lag during gameplay
im about to just redo the drivers or idk something
do you think this would cause my millisecond lag? http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-vista/enable-advanced-performance-on-your-hard-drive/ -
Naa its not stardock, its a proper replacement of the aero theme, i will get you guys the links ive used to allow vista to take its true glory.
And i've got stardocks dock, which seems to be matching perfectly.
Back to you soon.
Cata -
i want your theme in a red that correlates with the colors of our laptop
and red and black mix
-
Red works gloriously by the way, it has tints of blue in it and a beaut purple is produced.
First of all download
http://www.codegazer.com/vistaglazz/
Follow this guide to patching your system.
http://st.deviantart.com/minish/main/blank.png
Then download the theme (or others from that website
)
http://steel89.deviantart.com/art/SteelFlash-Final-100k-92817496
Follow the troublesome instructions to install it to your vista machine. (must be aero enabled for visuals to really stand out)
MUST PUT IN FONTS.
Any questions ask but i shall be a bit slow today.
Enjoy having vista look as good if not better then win 7 lol. -
ok its my turn to ask for help.
Everytime I install the full catalyst package for 9.7 or 9.8 i lose CCC completely.
i also install the avivo encoder. I would like to use the new CCC and not the old MSI one from 9.4(9.3? 9.2?) any clue as to what i did wrong?
I did not use mobility modder to alter these. I unistalled all ati stuff first wiped with drive cleaner pro after reboot. then installed the 9.8 video driver installs but the CCC doesn't
(made sure c:\program files\ati and ati technologies were deleted too) -
tick and untick services but run msconfig?? thats how you do it?
-
I am not sure exactly, honestly you should just do a clean uninstall , restart driver cleaner pro, wipe reg, then use mobility modder to mod the new 9.8 drivers and install it like that, it is garunteed to get you ccc on there
-
haha my first time running 3dmark06 with my replacement laptop, it may not be the highest score but it's pretty awesome
haha and sshh ignore the background
-
Thats a good background lol, and that is a good score
-
Have you had any problems since modding the themes?
Blazin
Edit: Second link doesnt work -

Guys, has anyone plugged two sets of speakers into there audio ports (headphones and front speaker) and had them both clone at the same time?
Apparently its not meant to be do-able? -
my desktop now, in correlation with the exterior look of my laptop I love it.
Thank you so much -
No problem man, it looks great by the way, red really shines.!
-
hey markhorton27 what theme is that? (the red one)
