It finally shipped! Too bad it arrives the day I fly out of town for 5 days.![]()

Well I tried placing my order but cyber power systems seems to be having issues with their checkout, I just end up getting error messages.
Hope it gets sorted out this weekend so I can get that 5% discount... -
I'm curious, did any one get a Gears of War 4 code with their 16l13 for that Nvidia promotion? I got mine from the p650rs I returned. I'm not sure if I can still use it on the Tornado when it comes in. It was linked to my windows account when I first set it up.

If you already redeemed your code and it is tied to your windows account, you can use it wherever you use your MS account on.Krissppy likes this.

Sweet, thanks!

My shipped also, my payment only went through on Thursday or Friday last week. I think they had some in stock to ship out.

Ordering mine now, do I just put 'NO LOGO'in the configuration instructions box for them to build it without the Eurocom logo on the aluminum panel?

I'm not sure if you have to get in touch with someone to confirm it (for me and others it was Garry). I was instructed to put in "NO LOGO for $75 per Garry."

Ordered i7-6700T + GTX 1070 model.

Why with the 6700T, I just got the normal 6700 non k.
-
Lower power usage, lower temps. I'm coming from an i5 which I never came close to pushing to its limit, even a 6700T is overkill for what I do.

Still beats a 6700HQ
Seriously though, the 6700HQ is the same TDP as the 6700T, yet 300 MHz lower 4-core boost frequency. How did that happen?

Yep, and I can always upgrade to a 7700K if I want too!
Shoot, I could have a different processor for every day of the week with this laptop

I'm so jealous of you guys. I have to save up for a few months before I can afford to buy one myself

Wrong. 6700T = 35w TDP

Exactly it's pretty ridiculous. I have to wonder if it can actually maintain those clocks within that envelope. They must be cherry picked or they simply never reach the stated clocks. Maybe with a heavy undervolt it might be achievable. Regardless it's not accident that Intel sold the 6700HQ with such neutered clock speeds. It's called planned obsolescence. CPUs have been lagging behind and making very small leaps in performance since Sandy Bridge because Intel has had little to no competition. Hopefully it changes with Zen.Papusan likes this.

That's mine ordered!
6700k
1070
1tb Samsung evo 850
16gb 2133mhz (they had no options for the RAM this was locked, dunno if it's worth upgrading?)
Can't wait! -
Mine should arrive Tuesday or Wednesday. Kingston DDR4 2400 2x8GB and a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB waiting to be installed. Total after buying those will be about $1630 for 6700, 1070, 1080p GSYNC. Pretty excited!

I was just looking at Eurocom's site again and just noticed this option is now avail, came here to see if anyone else noticed. This is definitely going to be my new laptop when I get approval to upgrade from my household boss.

Excited to see how much wattage and voltage this pulls at various clocks. You'll be the first with the T model.. I'm curious to know if my 6700K can match it's voltage/wattage at 3.4ghz across 4 cores (which is the max speed for the 6700T).Last edited: Oct 30, 2016hmscott and Th4tRedhe4d like this.

Yep, I was wondering if you were still waiting for the 4K panel on these.. Finally came! Join the darkside, bud.hfm likes this.

I wanted more of a 2k screen, 4k screen on a 15inch laptop doesnt look so good for my eyes.
My comes with i7 6700, 1070, no ram, no HD, no OS, the cheapest wifi card the realtek one. I'll install 2 samsung 500gb 850 m.2, and a 2tb spinner hd, ram will be 8gb 2400mhz-already have, OS-win10-already have-and the wifi card is intel 8260 that i bought from ebay for $15, comes next week or so. The OS key I bought from ebay for $15. Total cost $1320 with the student discount.
I will see if I can fit one of those 15mm HDs in there with 4tb of storage.hmscott likes this. -
Remember you should have 2 ram sticks for best performance

I am interested in buying one from CyberPower. Question: Do I need to delid and repaste? Is it necessary?
I want to upgrade the RAM to 64GB at a later date. Will 2 kits of this work: https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-16GB...d=1477694166&sr=8-1&keywords=sodimm+ddr4+32gb
Heard that 2 of the RAM slots require complete disassembly to access. Is this the correct guide? http://www.laptopmain.com/msi-gt62vr-disassembly-and-ram-hdd-ssd-upgrade-guide/
If not, can someone make a guide? Would be much appreciated!
How easy is the disassembly?Last edited: Oct 29, 2016 -
I was highly considering just settling for FHD, but this removes the only thing I didn't like about it. I'll probably pick it up sometime in the spring. Talking the boss into it is hard.
-
You can always just sell the boss or all computers that you have.
-
How do you even configure "No RAM"? I can only go as low as 8GB
-
Why are you getting this over the X4E2? I'm also looking at this laptop but the X4E2 looks like the better options with more modern ports.
-
In the order comments, you will have to put "no memory per Garry" and they will adjust the price. Just to confirm this, I would call the sales department.Paull likes this.
-
Because the XE42 is 1 lb heavier and the cooling solution is known to be louder under load.

this one has 4k gsync? -
Yes, pretty much almost full disassembly to get to the bottom two memory slots. Depends on your level of comfort but it's not for the feint of heart

X4E2 is about a pound heavier and has noisier fans.
-
That's Maxwell.. and it doesn't support Pascal (I already looked into it). And it's likely the same panel Eurocom is using to upgrade these to 4K.
-
Does Eurocom install the RAM in those slots or in the slots that are easy to access?
Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk -
Hey Guys - been looking at the Eurocomm site and the memory pricing there looks (have to be honest) -- overinflated. What do you think of this memory as an option?
https://amzn.com/B014R8JWEA
Open to any other better recommendations. Thanks! -
My unit came with the 8gb in the easy to access slot on top.
-
Thats why I ordered mine with the basic 8gb (included).. But apparently you can have them remove all the memory and save more money if you request it. And that's a good kit there. Not sure if there's anything faster at the moment at 2400mhz.. Maybe a CL13 out there somewhere..CIPHERSTONE likes this.

Have you considered keeping the default RAM and ordering a matching stick? The default is Crucial brand, so not terrible.
Could be another option if they take off ~$40 for not including any RAM. -
That's pretty much what I'm doing. I upgraded to the 8GB stick of the HyperX Impact RAM and I'll be adding the other 8GB stick myself.
Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk -
I've asked yesterday, they confirmed that no RAM is $40 cheaper. TBH I wouldn't bother buying gaming RAM sticks, they do have more bandwidth but the actual performance gain is debatable if you ask me
-
You can get some 2133mhz memory on ebay for about 15-16 each for 4gb. Its used but memory rarely fails.

Anyone have a link to a matching 8gb memory stick? Damn you Diversion, after lurking for a while I pulled the plug on the F5
-
I did a lot of homework as did others.. and it paid off.. There hasn't been a system I can recommend that has any clear advantages to the size/weight/performance/price/quiet ratio the 16L13 offers.Papusan likes this.

When the notebook ships, they'll send you an invoice. Look under the serial number for the RAM, and you'll be able to find an exact matching stick this way. For me, it was: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019FREJOQ
-
Awesome, thank you.

I just found out about this model today, and I was thisclose to ordering one from Eurocom, but that power input placement... I would primarily be using this in my lap, so that rear placement is less than ideal. How secure is that plug?
