Can you give me a link to the latest drivers? I downloaded one just now and it said "wrong driver" on Windows startup.

    Many thanks.

    sentelic_touchpad_9.1.77-w7_necacom.net.7z

got this from someone in the GT780 forum. It seems to be intended for the ASUS series laptop but i installed it fine. No wrong driver error on start up so thats definitely a plus.

    Hi,
I bought 683dxr about 2 weeks ago and this is a 471NL - from holand, and I am verry happy with it, works fast and its really great, but I have 2 questions about it, I've read arround 40 pages of this forum and couldn't find info about if I am going to put some double side selle tape under the keyboard would I have to brake the warranty seal? As this noisy keybord starts to drive me mad...

And the second thing, let say that at some stage I would like to replace the hard drives to ssd, I just switch the BIOS --> sata to IDE mode and thats it? I will not be using the Raid 0 mode anymore.
What can I also say is the hdd from WD works a bit loud, previously I had ASUS G51Jx and it had only one hard drive, and also I think it had faster response than the msi according to hdd, time of booting up, what I think is that RAID 0 is a mistake as I dont see much difference in it.

I don't think the Synaptics has gestures at all. If you can scroll by just touching the top right and bottom corners, you have a Sentelic. If you slide your finger up and down to scroll, its a Synaptics.

Synaptics has gestures, LOTS of them. Install Scrybe and it has about 20 pre-configured gestures, but it also let's you create your own. Also, mine slides up and down.

What you need to do to get the keyboard out is pop off the multimedia button panel above the keyboard. The keyboard can then be popped out by releasing it from the tabs.

If you are going to install a SSD, you want to set the SATA mode to AHCI.

Hi, and thanks for all advices, I fixed the keyboard by:

    removing audio panel,
removing keyboard and placing a small piece of double tape, ...but....
It will be very helpful for me if the owners of the gt683dxr could write when they are booting up their machines sometimes no functions are on. I mean when I switch off the notebook with the wireless light and anti-windows key lighted up and when I switch it back on I have to activate them again by pressing them, and this happens not every time when boot up,

Maybe its my fault as I could move some wire and that's why sometimes light and functions are not ON? no mather what power button stay lighted up each time

it's not just you. . occasionally on startup my wifi will be disabled by default. I have no idea why, don't believe it's a cable problem, or it'd happen more often.

I can't speak for the other guy, but after I got done double-sided taping my keyboard down and replacing the wifi card with the Centrino 6205, I specifically checked the wiring and made sure it was secure.

Mind you, we're not talking every boot up here. in 20 or so boots it's come up with no wifi. . once for sure, possibly twice [It might've happened the first day I had it, but I had my mind on other things and just discounted it as a fluke].

I suppose it's possible that in transition from place to place there was some chassis flex or something that caused it . . . ok, I have no real clue. I only mentioned it because I HAVE seen it happen.

    Once.

    Definitively.

And if someone else hadn't seen it as well, I'd think I was imagining it or going nuts :D

Just trying to save a fellow member's sanity, that's all ;)

This much I can tell you. I have never used the battery in mine. In fact, I have never even put it in. As long as I have the AC Adapter plugged into the wall, and the laptop plugged into the AC Adapter, the wireless stays on no matter what. Turning the laptop off and on makes no difference. The wireless is always on, as long as I don't actually turn it off.

If I pull the plug from the wall, or disconnect the tip from the back of the laptop, then it is off and I have to turn it back on again. My suspicion is that in order for the functions to stay on, even after the laptop is powered off, it still needs a power source to keep the "functionality state" of the buttons in memory - like the battery, or in my case, the AC Adapter.

Seeing as I don't run mine with the battery, that's what I get.

i recently bought this laptop and my first real game to try it is Skyrim. The game auto detects that it can handle it on Ultra graphics settings.
Recently the game sometimes boots me back to the desktop for no reason (i.e. no error message). The fan is really loud which i believe is normal...is the cause temperature?
Anyone experience this with Skyrim or any other game?
(i have official 285.62 driver installed)

I've seen a few people recommend the U3 Cooler Master as well as some Zalman cooler models for this laptop. But from my understanding the fans on most laptop cooler blows upwards, while the fans on the laptop blow down and out. So then isn't this counterproductive? I've never used one before so that's why I'm asking, sorry if it's a dumb question.

umm if you already got one you will know that the vents are on the left and behind rear which use the fan to blow out heat. with the cooler undearneath you will get cool air from under to keep the whole thing flow nicely.

Does anyone know if there is a way to force the Nvidia graphics card to run on power saver mode all the time, even when plugged in? I mean even when a 3d game is played. I have a few games that don't need the horsepower and was hoping to keep it running cooler. My Ati card in my last notebook had an option for this. Thanks!

O/Cd to 730/1460/1800, max temps on Skyrim without max fan were 77c [same as my max temps in WoW, coincidentally].

turning on max fan keeps my temps under 70c [I use HWmonitor to keep an eye on temps]

I do not experience any odd behaviour such as games crashing to desktop, etc. 2 hours straight on Skyrim, 7+ hour sessions of WoW.

The only modification I have made is to repaste the CPU/GPU with AS5.
Using the latest nvidia beta drivers.

I have a simple question may already have been answered before, but as I am considering buying an msi Gt683R would like to clarify (the GT683DXR is out of my budget):

What are the maximum temperatures of CPU and GPU with Gxt560m in GT683R with no OC and without turbo fan function?

The highs are 88-85 ° C as I have read??
They are considered very high values for a laptop gamer?

    I have had the M17xR3 and G73sw and none of them spent 72-75 ° C, and g53sw max 78-80 ° C

Nor do I gustam the shiny plastic, Today most manufacturers opt for plastic mate.

Temps for NON oc gaming with stock paste are from 77-80c. tested with metro 2033 intense gaming which is the game that has most used my GPU. BF3 temps are from 75-79c.

Temps for NON oc gaming with IC Diamond:
    74-77 metro 2033
    72-74 bf3

Temps for 720 core oc, stock paste:
    79-83 metro 2033
    78-81 bf3

Temps for 720 core oc, IC Diamond:
    76-79 metro 2033
    75-77 BF3

BTW: 720 core OC gives me aprox 10 extra frams in BF3, making me play it @ Ultra, AAdef Off, AApost high, SSAO, 1080p

EDIT: im sorry for this, i havent read that u were asking for the 560m model. this info is for the 570m dxr models. dont really know temps for that model but i will leave this info as you might be tempted to opt for the dxr model instead.

I don't know what your budget is, but I would recommend going with the 683DXR over the 683R because of the 570m.

If you take a look at these two links, the DXR is only $70 more after the rebate:

In Spain the gt683dxr is around 150usd more expensive to gt683r, and the new european's version of gt683dxr mount the matt panel AUO21ED, and I prefer the glossy's Lg-Philips panel (better contrast and low black levels cd/m2)

I deicided to light overclock 650/1300/1700 in afterburner, only wondering why the turbo button applies the changes to gpu core and shader, the memory stays 1700 all the time and not cooperate with turbo button, maybe I did something wrong?
The temps are pretty much the same as in default turbo 575/1150/1500 which is 77 degree tested in kombustor

some games require higher memory bandwidth, so they will look smoother. but thats only if u raise the core clock aswell. so they go hand in hand. somee games benefit more than others.

well no big difference is still difference and sometimes its for bragging too. And for some of us, we like to squeeze out as much as we can from the card.

Aside from the bragging rights :p

Increased in GPU memory have a couple of benefits as well:

    - It would greatly help if you're connecting your laptop to a larger external monitor and using a higher resolution than the stock for your laptop screen.

    - It would benefit you as well if you're using a multi-monitor configuration

    - It would help as well if you're going to use 3D

But there's also a possible downside for having a higher memory in your GPU and that is higher latency, but that is not always the case.

Your question is not dumb at all.
