The ntoebook itself is really great.

I do find HIDEvolutions review as usual hilarious, I don't know why but the way the guy slurs his sentence at the end just keeps making me chuckle. Also Showing colors on a youtube video is probably as pointless as it gets, because if you have a crap panel, you will just be like "uhm...ok?"

Anyone have experience with the screen hinges? People have reported them breaking. Sounds like the one caveat this laptop has. Planning to figure out a way to reinforce it myself when this thing arrives. Frustrating to read what's happened to some people.

Hasn't resulted in an increase in frequency of reported issues, I wouldn't say it's limited to this model, brand or even generation. Hinges are a fairly common failure point in laptops in general.

It has been recommended to open the screen lid from the center so that the force would be evenly distributed to both sides rather than one taking the most.

To clarify, there are types of "misuse" that affect all displays. Newer, thinner machines are a little more susceptible to being opened incorrectly, which is why you might hear people complaining, but it's not specific to the model.

Hello, has it been confirmed that this newer model has the 120hz/3ms display mentioned in the promo above?

From reading here, it sounded like the older model had the 5ms display from the GT73VR.

    Thank you!

Oh my God this is fast.

I bought mine from HIDEvolution on the back to school sale and it was the only option so that's what mine has. On the MSI product page spec it lists these two optons:

    17.3" UHD (3840x2160), IPS-Level
    17.3" FHD (1920x1080), 120Hz, 3ms, Wide-View

I wasn't going to buy anything with a refresh rate less than 120Hz and It is most excellent.

I know its a fresh OS but oh my God this is fast. Whatever I choose to do, admittedly not much yet, happens like RIGHT NOW. I had ordered an HP Omen 17in with Optane and 144 gsync on special and the initial user experience was so far behind this. Granted HIDEvolution stripped the excess bloat but within a week it had locked up full black screen from precious little usage and I immediately packed it up and sent it back.

    So happy I did...

Having lived with your new machine for almost 2 months, do you have an update or user experience to share? this laptop is on my short list and was just curious.
