    You need to to let the BIOS complete the update process as it can reboot several times. And ask him about the issue because he should have some procedures for you to try.

    I rebooted several times. I asked him and he had no idea and guessed it could have been caused by a faulty psu or insufficient cooling.

    My temps were fine (65°C). So either is modification caused too much power draw and fried both PSU and the MXM board. Or his modifcation causes so much power draw that the laptop won't turn on with just the battery plugged in (which is what I am hoping). Or the GT70 was just never meant to be used withanything besides his stock cpu and gpu since he circuitry just does not support any higher power draw and I should just have stayed away from this money- and time-sucking bottom-less pit :(
