Has anyone figured out a solution to the sound blaster cinema ap 2 not detecting any supported device? Ex: "The current selected audio device is disabled, not present, not supported by the application, or has unplugged jack connections. Do you want to select another audio device now?", and then: "There is no supported device available".

Have you tried the older version listed under windows 8 (not 8.1) at MSI?

You can access the bios by doing an advanced restart (Google the simple steps as they escape me for the moment) then press del to get into the bios as it restarts. Make sure you have created your recovery media.

    Hello,

I have problems with this setup. Using MSI Barebones MS-16F4, equal to MSI GT60 2OC. I'm using 3 x Samsung 840 EVO 120GB mSATA in RAID 0. After windows 8.1 install, not long it suddenly restart, then it won't boot again and keeps on restarting, showing black screen and only the mouse cursor is available, with the power button lights blinking from orange/white.

Tried reinstalling the windows all over again, but the same thing happens after 2x installs. Afraid that it will burn the SSD or something.

Have you encountered this problems before? Or can you help me on this matter?
I just recently added the extra 2 SSD. Previously running fine with single SSD.

    Would really like some help.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Yuri

okay now this is very frustrating, i have had ssd and hhd for a very long time without any trouble whatsoever, but until today when i restarted my laptop only to notice that SSd is not the primary boot drive.
i have tried tonnes of trick such as switched both drives places, as well as tried to boot my laptop by using only one drive(SSD) and it booted and only HDD.

But when i install both drives it only makes HDD primary, the bios setting are UEFI by default , Unless i press F11 to specifically boot from SSD otherwise it boots from Hdd .

Any suggestions on how to solve this silly issue

Hey guys what's up?!!! My gt70 has been running great! I have one question tho, does the gt70 play 3d bd disks? Or 3d bd isos? I was trying to play a 3d ISO through power DVD 14 or total media theater to my 3d Panasonic vt60 tv with no luck I can't get 3d to work only if I play an sbs mkv I get 3d, but with 3d ISO no luck, I even downloaded mvidias 3dtv program but I cannot get the option of stereoscopic 3d tab to show up in nvidias media center :( did you guys had any luck with 3d ???

What player are you using? Likely a player issue since I have had 3D Bluray playing off older models.

Hey Meaker, thank you for the interest in my issue, I'm using Total media theater 6 , and power dvd 14 witch has a 3d button but when I press it it just doesnt send any 3d signal to my vt60 3d tv, also under nvidia control center I cant see the 3D stereoscopic tab option witch I think should appear If you connect to a 3d ready TV... :( maybe nvidia is not compatible with Panasonics viera vt60? but that's really strange since its one of the latest 3d models :( damn it, right now the only option I have to vie 3d is SBS mkv format, but I would really like to play a full 3d iso with my gt70 :(

When I want to play a full 50GB .iso I actually burn it to a disc then use a regular 3D blu ray player. I like the audio better that way. 50GB discs are pretty cheap now too, like $25 for a 10pk. SBS mkv just doesn't have the same picture quality, which is the whole reason you go for the Panny Plasma's.

exactly I want to be able to play my movies in he best quality possible, that's why I want to play 3d bd isos with my gt70 but it just wont do it.. like gtx 770m is not supporting 3d bitstreaming via 1.4 hdmi but I think it does? right?, why do you say the sound sounds better through a 3d blu ray player? I get the sound bitstreamed to my a/v receiver into dts hd ma? isn't that the best way?

The highest quality comes from using the optical out.

But the optical doesn't do Dts hd ma higher bitrates it just do dts ?

Do you guys think nvidia will ever fix this Optimus disaster so we can use our dedicated gpu as we will?

The HDMI output does not use optimus, it is directly connected to the dGPU.

dont get me wrong but I think its something like nvidia is passing the information through intels igpu thats why when you disable the igpu nvidia gets disabled too right? because the guys here ( GT70 Optimus and Nvidia 3DTV play ) have the same issue too with the gt70... and I guess thats why nobody in here so far have not confirmed if they got the 3d stereoscopic options to work under nvidia control when connecting to an external 3d display.. damn it I really wanted gt70 to do 3D isos :( :( :(

The 6xx series did not do it, but the 7xx series GT systems have the HDMI and DP straight to the DGPU (VGA is through the igp)

I can tell you this is how the PCB is routed so the Intel chip has nothing to do with your issue.

You are welcome to examine the system and show this not to be true but there is a large amount of evidence to say this is how it is done even not looking at the PCB.

GT60/70 0N series don't have direct GPU output on HDMI.
GT60/70 2O series have direct GPU output on HDMI/DP.

Thank you for making this clear for me Meaker and Kevin! I can say Im glad and sad at the same time! glad because we are not limited having this direct connections to the Dgpu but sad because I'm back to square one trying to solve why I cannot get my gt70 to see I have a 3d 3TV and anable the stereoscopic tab under nvidia manager when I connect it to my 3dTV :(

hello Meaker! thank you sooo much for the potential solution I have spend days now trying to fix the issue but to no avail :( would you please guide me a little more? I have never messed up with a graphic cards vbios or mod inf for the drivers, should I flash a vbios or just a modded inf file for the drivers? I went to laptopvideo2go forum and found the section with the nvidia card driver and modded inf files, that must be it right? I download the driver and the modded inf file and replace the original one? that all? thank you again for your interest and time :)

Hi guys! Noob here...has anyone of you tried or upgraded your Bios to the bios update posted in Msi website? How was it? Bought mine last year on august, thought that it might be good to be updated. I'm using a win8.1 64bit OS and I notice that there are two versions posted, on the "NOTE" one has the "WIN8 Default RAID Mode" and the other has the "WIN8 Default AHCI Mode". I only have one hdd on my laptop so that means I should use the AHCI mode version right?

I would say yes, you probably need the AHCI one. It was easy to do but you need to double check to make sure you have the correct one (which I did not do).

I just did a BIOS update on mine and messed it up the first time, luckily it didn’t hurt anything but I couldn’t get it to boot until I reflashed it with the proper one. It was fairly clear which one I needed when I went back to download the proper one the second time. The first time I went to get it, it displayed differently and I had multiple options that seemed to fit so I ended up picking the best one I could. I never did figure out where exactly I was at the first time but it showed many more BIOS updates than it showed the latest time I went there.

Deyym, lucky you! Hha I learned the hard way though, just last year I didn't know that downgrading your Bios version may kill the board, which I did after updating to a new one and decided to revert it. I was thinking of searching it to the net if its safe to do, but maaan. Lazyness.

    @ZIPPERI, thanks!

UHH...guys, one problem. After updating my Sound Blaster Cinema that comes with the laptop which is really nice and I liked it, stops working. Dunno...it says everytime I open it "The current selected audio device is disabled, not present, not supported by the application, or has unplugged jack connections. Do you want to select another audio device now?"
Anybody knows how to fix this? Would really appreciate. :)

Its not the updating of realtek hd audio manager thats causing the problem its the sound blaster cinema thats causing the problem which is why i would suggest downgrading to the original sound blaster cinema found on the drivers disk that came with your laptop at least until someone else has found a solution to this. I have been having the same problem as you.

It's been prevalent on other systems and seems to be the SB software there as well. Hopefully an update remedies it, but thankfully the audio driver is fine.
