Then you are probably one of the few resellers that fixed this because the OCZ forum is flooded with angry customers wanting a firmware fix and refund. OCZ made a thread where they described how 2.08 should fix the BSODs and freezes. Now it is named "FW 2.08 discussion. 2.08 has shown to help a limited number of people BUT many still have issues".
There are people there who have tried every firmware version, but still have problems. Faulty drive maybe. Just RMA it right and get a new one? Lol wrong. Instead they give you a 16 step checklist where they try to squeeze out every possibility that there is nothing wrong with your SSD so they don`t have to pay for it. If you do get past it, they tell you to wait for more firmware updates and let you struggle there hopelessly. When a new firmware update do arrive they are basicly letting you beta test it for them. Even if you demand a refund they start haggling with you and try to pay back less than what you paid.

As for your golden 2.06 update:
Corsair offered full refund on all their Force drives with the new Sandforce controller. No question asked. OCZ with the same controller let their customer struggle and won`t even let many of the customers RMA them. Just another incident that OCZ will be remembered from...

Just today there have been many threads opened by angry customers back in the OCZ forum. They have all been closed and refered to the Sticky post about FW 2.08. Which is also closed because of all the complaining.
Read about it here: Technical Discussion FW 2.08 discussion. 2.08 has shown to help a limited number of people BUT many still have issues. A new FW is on its way for beta test and I will advise on the progress next week. Please read the whole of this thread especially s

    Another forum with disappointed customers:
Don't forget to give Vertex 3 one egg if you bought it - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net
    Update OCZ Vertex 3 firmware? - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

Thanks man. I do try to stay updated :)

But the 510 is more future proof isn't it?
It uses a SATA III, just what I need.SATA II will be obsolete within a few years time if I'm not wrong, the least that's what I think, which is why I want the 510 series.

If it's expensive,it'll definitely take me time to afford one.
How much is a Intel 510 with 120GB?

I don't know. Unless you're a pretty benchmarker, or you do a a LOT of activity on your HDD/SSD, you probably won't notice the difference between (for example) a G2 and a 510. The difference between an HDD and an SSD is staggering. The difference between X SSD and Y SSD is pretty small.

Try looking around on Newegg or Amazon. Check often for sales. And if you do buy from Ebay, try to buy from a store and talk about warranty with the seller.

You got your point, I agree that the difference is little but I suppose I'll go with a SSD with SATA 3, it would be a waste for me to afford a SSD with SATA 2 when the price difference is not much, isn't it?

    I checked eBay for Malaysia with a 120GB 510 Intel SSD, around RM900, that's approximately USD300..
I guess I'll wait for the GT780R to arrive first, I'll savour the hybrid drive first before deciding to change to a SSD. =)

Can't wait for mine to arrive, wee!! XD

Nope. Both have only 1 fan and a dual exhaust (one in the back and one on the left side)

To further elaborate, they have dual radiator exhausts.

With my older Asus G51vx, the radiators were "stacked". The fan would blow into the CPU radiator, then the GPU radiator, and finally out of the notebook.

With the GX660R, (and the models being discussed on the thread) the fan exhausts in two directions, so the radiators are getting fresh air and not air already warmed by another radiator.

Hi guys, I've bought the gt683r and it works flawlessly.

The THX sound effect is nice, but I like more the sound quality of my GX660 (which I sold last month). I tough both systems would sound the same, but in the GX660 there was an option in the Realtek Audio control panel called DTS surround. This sound effect is now missing and has been replaced by the THX thing which is nice but I prefer more dts.

Is there any way to bring DTS back? I've tried installing the drivers of the gx660 but the option still does not appear.

Don't know if it's already been discussed in the thread, but could someone comment on the Gt683R's fan noise levels?

I'm looking for a laptop to serve me in audio producing and would require the laptop's noise levels to be bearable and non disturbing in non graphics intensive work. But I need the graphics performance for gaming and then the noise levels aren't too meaningful.

Is the GT683R louder compared to similar performance laptops?
How's the noise level when not doing graphics intensive tasks?
What about the GT780R? Is it possibly better in this sense?
    Other comments on noise levels?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I'm interested on GT683R laptop, but I have one doubt. Have some of you tried it with bad company 2 on multiplayer? If you have, could you please tell me the maximum settings that you can achieve without having any lag?

    Thanks!

Well, the 560m is comparable to the HD5870m so you should try 1920x1080, DX10, all high, medium shadows, 4x AF, 1-2 AA, no HBAO. That should give you consistent performance around 60fps. without vsync you will have a bit of screen tearing but well over 60fps.

Do you think the optimus implementation will get in the way of changing the graphics card in the future?
