O_O. . .hopes and dreams restored if I understood this right. . .so this means MSI WILL release the GT60 with GTX 680M and just not with the GTX 675M right?

Might make sense as the 680 runs cooler than the 675.

So are we really talking about sept for these?

All I'm hoping for is that the 680m can be easily swapped in place of my 570m. fingers are crossed.

GTX 680M in a GT60...... seems like the perfect gaming laptop for me! I hope Gentech will have it on pre-order any time soon.

Thanks Cloudfire for sharing those pics. Seems like MSI is a bit cheaper too than clevo, dont know about alienware though.. I remember reading somewhere in the forum, that the MSI card was $600-$700 (dont remember exact number but that was stated at the thread) and the clevo card was some $900+...... (trying to remember the thread)......:\

    It's $1500 for the 670M.

Pre order are going to go live anyday now! Fingers crossed for a good price. Also, on the msi site, noticed there are multiple choices for storage on the specs tab. So does that mean, I can actually downgrade when buying, cause I really see some stuff not required that could lower the price when configuring. But I dont think downgrading was an option last time with GT768R, or was it?

    VERY soon I bet. :D

This notebook completely destroys the GT780R/DXR with 670M/580M. Best part is that GTX 680M draw 40W less than 675M/580M and runs atleast 12C degree lower than 675M/580M :D

And it have Optimus, which GT780R/DXR didnt have so it will run cooler and make less noise when not gaming :D

Why is the gpu clock, memory, bandwith and shaders circled in red? And isn't 771 achieved with slight overclocking? I remember as stock being 717..... Kudos to MSI, for achieving top position in 15' as well as 17' notebook category! With these cards MSI sure is going to win against clevo P150EM and P170EM. The only factor that matters is price...... Also driver support (which currently clevo is suffering from).... And judging by those specs... I'm hoping for below 2000$. Take those ssds away, 1800$ seems fair.

P.S : thanks cloudfire for sharing those pics, although I cant read any of those, the charts say it all!

    I can see HERE:

"MSI has improved the resilience and tactile feedback of each and every key. Users will no longer have to deal with flimsy keys."

Does that mean the keyboard issue has been fixed? :)

    Hmm, I don`t know actually.
They can be comparing MSI to other brands and saying that their keyboard it better.
    or
They have fixed any keyboard issue that was with previous models :)

You see the standard spec of 680M on the same picture. 719MHz is what Clevo is having as the max clock for the 680M. MSI however have factory overclocked it to 771MHz, so you get a faster 680M through MSI. They will however overclock equally good, if you plan on overclocking the 680M yourself.

As for price, I think the 680M will cost $300 more than the notebooks with 675M. The cheapest should cost around $1950, next one $2200 and one at $2400 if you want everything maxxed (SSDs, 16GB RAM etc)

I think GT60 will be a bit lower than that. But for GT70 that price seem perfect. Also noticed that a few pages back, there was a link to a german reseller that was accepting orders for GT70 with GTX 680M and it cost around 2700 EUR, which translates into roughly 3300$. Hope that not going to be the case....

Thats European prices. I live here and I can testify that we are getting robbed here. You can`t do a simple price translation to US price, since they are a lot lower there :)

Yeah the prices I predicted was GT70 prices, GT60 will be cheaper

Thanks for the video. Good to have you back Ken. Looking forward to the preorders. The video said July so I`m guessing they are up pretty soon

from the first link, whats with his core clock? its only 324? This is something with optimus right?

Sager was dominating every year with the top GPU in their systems previously. MSI always was one step behind in terms of GPU. Now that MSI has stepped up to the top line, there are more choices to choose for gamers.

Thanks pau1ow. Thats a very impressive GPU score. :)

The clocks are wrong, and something that happens all the time with 3DMark11. Reason is that it reads the clock of the GPU before the program loads it, so sometime the GPU is still in idle state. So therefor you get the idle clocks instead

Question for the resellers or anyone who might know:

GT70/60 will come with 2xMSATA SSDs in Raid0 through a special MSI card, are these SSDs replaceable with other faster brands? Or do it only work with the Sandisk MSATAs?

See picture to see the raid card

    Hi Guys,

Well, for some time now I have sworn to break my habit of remaining an 'early-adopter', but with the arrivals of new 3rd GEN Intel's, Super-RAID, and the true Kepler GTX-680M, I simply can't resist. DANG IT, old habits are hard to break! (Someone save me...... PLEASE!)

As such, I have gotten with the Supreme Being/Reseller of Custom Notebooks, Ken @ GenTech PC, and issued an open/blank check (a PRE-pre-order of sorts, and first in line) for my new Super-RAID'ed MSI GT70 with the WMD (Weapon of Mass Destruction), the all-powerful GTX-680M. (YES, bow before me puny newbs, and prepare to be kowned, powned, & owned!)

    Gamer Etymology:
    kowned = knife owned
    powned = pistol owned
    simply 'owned' = HEADSHOT!

Since I can't wait to get my grubby paws on this notebook, I have arranged overnight shipping, and I will not be doing any custom upgrades at this time. It will be the top MSI GT70 GTX-680M SKU/model available for the U.S., and I will post unboxing photos & benchmarks shortly after it arrives.

YES, thusfar the numbers for the GTX-680M have been impressive, but keep in mind they should be considered only preliminary. Initially the drivers will not be a part of Nvidia's Verde Driver Program, and the drivers will not be 'approved' by FutureMark for some time to come. This usually means (and as drivers develope) we can expect the benchmark scores will only IMPROVE with time!

UPDATE: Awesome! I see nVidia is already supporting drivers for the GTX-680M. Hopefully FutureMark will shortly follow suit.

For those excited & considering this notebook, you may want to pre-order early to 'lock-in' for the first shipment. Otherwise, there may be delays awaiting subsequent shipments.

STAY TUNED & PREPARE TO DO BATTLE..... as I anticipate pre-orders will begin soon, and shipping to begin around the end of the month.

:D :D :D ( happy dance, happy dance..... w/ mad ninja combat skilz of course. I fully expect to be one of the first 'official' U.S. owners of this awesome MSI GTX-680M notebook.)

Long wait has finally paid off :D

Yes they are upgradable, not sure if resellers offer it though.

Yes, they are upgradable, and I see GenTech is offering a configuration up to 480GB. (240G x2 Super-RAID) (Mushkin Enhanced Atlas Series mSATA SATA III)

I think we are sure to see other future configurations. Exciting stuff, huh? It just keeps getting better & better..... and right now MSI is leading the way!

Cool. Well if I buy the GT70 I will not be upgrading to Mushkin. Sandforce. No thanks.

But thats pretty nice, since its super easy to install your own SSDs. Goodie :)
Its gonna be one sick notebook, thats for shure.

2 SKUs for GT70 and only 1 SKU for GT60. GT70 is one with msata and the other SKU is without I`m guessing. GT60 won`t have msata super raid card since it can`t fit inside the notebook

We will have them as well, as soon as MSI releases them in the US market.

We will also offer Crucial SATA III mSATA SSD upgrades to 2x 256GB.
