Did they mention anything about what the pricing will be like? MSI has pretty reasonable prices, but with the new GPU I'm afraid it will baloon up for the first few months it is out.

EDIT: Nevermind, found the preorder on Amazon, got the price... well worth it.

I wish there is a quad version of this, that would be awesome.

Has anyone got a WEI score for 725 with P9500?

    Hi Guys,

Been keeping up to speed with this thread as I'm keen to see if anybody has had a chance to get the hands on one of these. ;)

I've been speaking with our MSI rep today and we should be getting stock pretty soon. Will see how things go but if I decided to spend some of my hard earned cash I may be tempted to get myself one.

Ours are UK spec and can be checked out here http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=969120

Why do all the UK variant of 725 have low screen res? not to mention 5400 rpm HDD? first is advent 6555 with its hysterical 1440x900 and 250gig of HDD for a thousand quid, now scan even does not have WUXGA model for HD content enjoyment...

Would have already ordered 075 elsewhere, but the exchange rate is not great lately.

Well the UK GT725 has a 1650x1080 screen. That is not 'low res' in my opinion. Sure, it is not full HD, but it is still pretty good. Loads of people are still using 1650x desktop monitors, and they are pretty happy with the screen space.

As for watching Blu-ray, honestly you are going to find it hard to notice the difference between 1650x and 1920x. Okay, so you are not getting true 1:1 pixel mapping, but you are still getting most of the high-detail. More important for me in this situation is the quality of the screen (contrast, response time etc).

The MSI GT725-210UK is now on some UK stores. It has a Q9000, 9-cell battery and otherwise the same specs as the existing UK model. Im not sure if it has the same 1680x1050 screen or higher.

    Thanks for the update.

I'd think it would cost samilar to current UK GT725 model. As Q9000 and P9500 aren't priced that far away.

Though that means one'd still be paying premium over 6555 for:

    Overclockable CPU (2.3/2.4Ghz)?
Slightly higher screen res? WXGA+ vs WSXGA+?
Twice as much storage out of box
    Orangy-red skin

    o_Oh shiny!

Might be worth ordering one and waiting the 19 days to be honest xD

    Will have a think =)

Could this mean the advents bios could be flashed to OC it?

The GT725 quad core is being discussed here at about 1:55 in this video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WFB57YIjgw

It looks like the quad core version got a new design. I like it a lot more than the red design.

Im giving the advent a try as i want to see if i can use the bios of the new 725 on it, would potentially mean a better price for advent and the OC ability, my fingers are crossed, if not, i will go for the Quad 725.

On that youtube video, it looks like the Advent 6555's colour scheme revamped, i do like the use of blue on the touch pannel though :)

Right, no CF for that laptop. The slots for another mini-PCIe thing, eg. wireless, turbo memory, tv tuner, etc.

I cannot post any links here (reseller rules) but if you look in the "Notebook Photos" area on our website there are pics of the internals of the GT725 in the MSI catagory.

    Guys,

Just a quick question. I'd like to upgrade HDD in my GT725; I believe that the answer is obvious but I'd rather have it confirmed before placing order.

Would Intel SSD X25-M 34 nm 80GB fit into my lappy? Thanks a lot for answers!
