edit 9/5 - MSI also released v6.0.9205.1 for MSI laptops in early August 2021 (this 9205 version I found listed for MSI WS76 11UX workstation laptops)

SteelSeries Engine 8.0 has newer drivers, but the update didn't install them, I had to install them manually visa device manager!

You can find the drivers in the folder C:\Program Files\SteelSeries\SteelSeries Engine 3\driver\Win10\amd64

If anyone has newer Qualcomm WiFi/ newer drivers please post it in here, my Wifi and Bluetooth are disappearing now after waking up I hope there will be newer releases from Qualcomm

 

the thread doesn't adress 2012 laptops only, it's for any laptops. Most of msi's official releases keep working on my gf63 which is 3 years old. hacktrix's thread is a good solution if the official realtek (which drivers i was reffering to) is not working on your device - Nahimic 3 on "unsupported systems". Also there's a thread on stationdrivers where there's always the latest msi's drivers being posted along with ms catalog and other manufacturer's. Also the Microsoft's releases i've been testing since i have my msi laptop but also my msi motherboard are all screwed up - high cpu usage (most common issue) but other problems too. For like really old devices i recommend pal100's github where he keeps realtek UAD audio up to date and working for most devices. Other devices but nvidia/amd/intel gpu (intel gives some issues sometimes - my friend with a gp series can't get a newer version than the one offered on the support page because it kinda bricks his visuals) and wi-fi/bluetooth/lan i feel like they're worthless updating only if there are some bugs adressed in the newer version. I personally run the latest drivers offered by the support page on both my laptop and desktop (msi z490-a pro) and updated earlier mentioned devices. The message you replied to was left because a while ago i saw that someone (either a mod from the forum or the thread OP) said to stick to official releases.

Not everyone know where they can find newer drivers for their older laptops. Posted drivers in this thread won't be put in OP post before the OP himself approves what will be put in post # 1. Up to the different users download and test out newer drivers posted here for their own (old) machines. Either from Post #1 or in the thread.

Edit. A good ide is also ask others if they have tested the new drivers/firmware updates before they install it (model specific or with similar models).

 

@virgolicidaniel and @Papusan There is no such thing called "official msi releases"!

Chip manufacturers are the ones making the drivers, Microsoft "tests" these driver and signs them. What MSI does, unfortunately, they use the the latest driver released by manufacturers upon making the page for any MSI product, and MSI will never update these drivers.

My num light had so many issues, and Synaptics drivers crashes every time I turned my num lock using the "official msi release", once I used Synaptic driver from Microsoft catalog version 19.5.31.21 I have no issues anymore, and this driver is not posted on MSI site anywhere. BTW msi told me to use their drivers as they are tested, although the issue was using their drivers LOL.

When it comes to Realtek, I am having an issue that my headphone jack doesn't work, once I used a driver from Microsoft Catalog and it fixed my issues for a while and the issue is back again, now I am testing every release from Realtek hoping to find a good driver.


For everyone, you don't have to test any driver posted in here, but it is nice to keep updating us with every new release. I am willing to test every new driver, if anyone like me, for sure they want to see the updates, if not, they are not forced to test.

a realtek driver update alone may or may not solve your problem

 

@epguy3 No I didn't because I am using unsupported Nahimic 3 for my system.

But for sure it is not a hardware issue. If I plug the headphones when my laptop is on they will be no sound, but if I plug my headphones while my laptop is off and turn on my laptop while the headphones jack plugged in, they will work. Every time!

But I am 100% it is a driver issue and not hardware, and I can't or I don't want to test the old Nahimic 2 on Windows 11.

@NeXt3R SteelSeries GG is not a *****, it doesn't create any service runs in the background, if you close it and remove it from startup it will not be there anymore. In fact it is most decent app between the forced services from other drivers.


About Qualcomm release 1x.0.0.1159, it seems it is specially from Windows 21H2 i.e. Windows 11

is there a way to use elan/synaptics trackpad drivers over the intel serial io driver for my ge76 11uh?

i absolutely hate how innacurate the tracking can be with windows precision, from jumping cursor whilst clicking, to being unable to consistently two finger press to right click (you have to lift both fingers if you want to right click again otherwise it will left click) 3 finger middle click isnt possible, only 3 finger tap and some programs dont even detect 3 finger tap to middle click for some reason.
its just an awful experience compared to the laptop ive just moved from and i cant find anything online in terms of tweaking it except people saying to revert to drivers that are seemingly incompatible with this trackpad.

ive checked i have the latest driver, but im pretty sure this is a problem with windows precision. ive seen a few reports online but never a solution that i can use because the only solution ive seen is using an alternate driver that removes windows precision in favour of ones like synaptics and elan.

i thought maybe upgrading to windows 11 might add some changes to windows precision but sadly its pretty much exactly the same, same problems too.

how is it asus if tagged as Realtek UAD (Universal Audio Driver) ? didn't try it since i preffer waiting for drivers posted on my support page. maybe it was a bad description on the other forum. sorry about that.

Generic Realtek driver might be your best bet for that system as its the same as a MS16F2.
