hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU

While using LatencyMon to check for the latency for my GPU (I was tinkering to set it as MSI mode with high priority) and I notice that this modded drivers have have more latency the default non-UAD drivers, at least on my system.
-
hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
When you say High latency how high?
Min is low sub 500ms.

based on a few reports in the msi forum & nahimic support forum, 9042 is a winner - I mean it's a bug fixed version that now works correctly on recent MSI boards like x470 gaming pro carbon where the 9013 & 9018 versions crash with bsods on there when using the multi-stream option and playing two different audio streams. other oddities & weird things may also have occurred in older versions but 9042 resolves these problems.

Well 9042.1 has been modded and release here too.
Shame Nahimic 1.4.14 doesn't work on 4th/5th/6th/7th gen systems though. Let's hope Nahimic 3 1.5.x.x will.
Sent from my SNE-LX1 using Tapatalk -
I think it was that my previous OS was messy. I will re-run the tests on these fresh install just in case to make sure, but so far I have no issues with 9042.1.
Oh and I noticed the "Nahimic Companion" gets installed now too. -
hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
As for latency mine is like attached.

That was while playing a MP game and in discord on a voice channel.
So it seems it was in fact my previos OS install.Attached Files:

I notice a minor issue that (i think) is random, sometimes Nahimic bugs out; i was listening to music then launch a game, the music stills sounds correctly but the game sounds like crap, all low and muffle until I disable the preset in Nahimic. Same thing happens to Discord, for example.
-
Maybe it's trying to change profiles or something when launching different apps. I'll try this later to see how it goes. What version of nahimic are you using ?

It happened to me changing profile sorted it. Might be an SWC 3.0.0 issue. Working on it

Unchecking the "Run at startup" in the "Nahimic Companion" (nahimicNotifSys.exe) it stills loads at start up but not the tray icon (as in I can see it in Task Manager).
Manually killing the process and deleting the folder (AppData\Local\NhNotifSys\nahimic) on the next reboot it automatically restores itself and runs at startup.
Is no big deal but I thought I would report it as found the behavior peculiar. -

edit 10/27 - unrelated but ASRock seems to have recently posted an updated Nahimic3 Utility package which appears to have the Nahimic 3 v1.4.15 UWP app along with the Nahimic SWC component 3.0.0 driver (the MS store still has v1.4.14 of the Nahimic 3 uwp app)Last edited: Oct 27, 2020 -

Right a slight update, Ok so after purchasing a Dedicated Server Host (Home Server Lab), i have now recreated the Virtual Machine for DevOp's the VM that all modded drivers are made on. Now as this is a Clean install of Windows 10 and its hosted on a J4105 Intel CPU (Quadcore no SMT), it might mean that uploads will not be as fast as they was, as doing it this way means there is maybe 2-3 minutes extra time to make the packages. However on the plus side this means if my Main system goes down i can still make the packages.

Nice! Releases getting really serious looking forward for updated drivers!
-
hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
Further down the road I she'll be getting more servers to turn them into a cluster so even if one server goes down I still have the others.
I take all modding I do seriously always have always will.
All in all I am taking the eggs out of one basket and sharing them out, it's safer that way.

I see a lot of manufacturers releasing new driver versions. Shall we expect any new release soon ?

Edit: Just checked and MSI is still only offering 9042.1 so nothing I can do sorry.

so far only a few handful of manufacturers have released updated Realtek audio drivers newer than MSI's 9042 version like Dell & ASRock with 9045 and Lenovo with 9047.virgolicidaniel and hacktrix2006 like this. -
hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
However for future reference to everyone on here, once there is an update i will update the installer package.
So if i haven't updated the drivers, its because there isn't one yet, I know your only asking but the "Are we there yet" or incase of drivers "New drivers released update package" will not speed it up.

DOH! (my homer simpson impression)
I'm afraid your modded 9045 driver needs a do-over, hactrix2006.
the official 9045 UAD MSI Nahimic driver included the MSI-NahimicRestoreTool-APO3-SWCv3.1.0.0-EXTv1.1.41.0.exe file, which has Nahimic SWC component driver 3.1.0.0 dated 11/02/2020 and A-volute extension INF file v 1.1.41.0 dated 11/04/2020 as well as a new Nahimic Mirroring SWC driver v 1.0.3.0 dated 11/05/2020 (this new Nahimic mirroring driver version is no longer exclusive to MSI)

Hi
I have MSI P75 9SF
I have no signal on Jack (headphone) at present, but yesterday it has been.
There have been an information Nahimic/Realtek (I do not remember) on the taskbar - I did not update it
After hour, I turned off my computer.
Today, I turn on my computer, and I see, that the sound doesn't work
I plug the headphones into the jack port, and then I see the notification to chose option headphone/speaker, then I click at headphone.
At the moment (for a second) the music appears, and at the same time it disappear - (then sound is completely gone)
I did the Full installation (Realtek_UAD_6.0.1.9045.1_MSI_Nahimic_UWP_mod.exe)
but my action didn't bring me success - the problem is the same all the time
Could you give me a way to solution the problem -

Right run the Uninstall mode first, disconnect from the internet as well.
Follow the instructions set out in the post.
For jack sense issues go into the Realtek Audio Console click on the gear icon near the bottom, disable jack detection then reboot and then re-enable.
See if that helps also make sure Windows 10 is set not to allow drivers from Windows Update as Microsoft has been *****y as of let and replacing the drivers with a generic one.

Right how many audio port is on your laptop, is it 1 2 or 4?
If you have 4 Audio jack's it should be starting from the front of the laptop in order
1) Digital Audio
2) Microphone
3) Line In
4) Line Out
Just remember I am working blind here.
So are you able to click on your Speaker Icon on Windows 10 and screen shot the options shown in there.
Should be showing more then one option, if you are Digital Output give that a shot as headphone mode doesn't work for me but Digital Output also known as S/PDIF does.
Also I don't know what Audio Codec ID your using.
A dxdiag log would help.

I don't know what's going on
Yesterday, I did the FullInstall and FullUninstall and InstallWithoutNahimic, DowngradeNahimic3, several times - (sound didn't work). I turned off the computer
Today, I turn on my computer, and there have been an information Nahimic 3 (please restart computer) - ok.
Yesterday, this information didn't appear.
The sound works. I don't know
I'll see what happens in the next days
thanks -

Edit: Good news if you have been stuck on Nahimic 3 UWP 1.4.2 you can now upgrade to Nahimic 3 UWP 1.5.1 it works on Systems that are under 8th gen.
I have now downloaded the new UWP and its dependencies ready for the next new Audio Driver pack update, which means Nahimic 3 UWP 1.5.1.0 will now be the default version.

That's some good news ! Glad it works fine for all systems now. Waiting for the next release.

the bad news is that Nahimic 3 UWP v1.5.1 may only work exclusively with most MSI systems and not with non-MSI brand systems (boooooooo,) as I get the "Nahimic cannot be used - not compatible" error message when that version is installed on certain non-MSI machines like my old HP computer & using someone else's modded Realtek UAD Nahimic driver from github
-
well isn't this repack meant for msi systems anyway ?
-
ok, at least one person from this thread in MSI forums did have a problem after the 1.5.1.0 Nahimic3 app update but managed to solve it by using the Nahimic APO Restore tool package (from the recent Realtek audio drivers) to get things working again
edit - at least one person in ASRock forums had trouble with the 1.5.1 version of the Nahimic3 app not working on a certain ASRock board that was supposed to support Nahimic3 but another person there using an older Realtek audio driver with a slightly different ASRock mobo has the Nahimic3 v1.5.1 app workingLast edited: Nov 21, 2020 -
