Nahimic 3 on "unsupported systems"

So I've spent two days at it and can't get it to work. I'm on a gt72VR 6re win10 build 1903. I've used the registry patch and also tried both with and without DDU to wipe everything out beforehand. Nahimic always does one of two things: It either tells me "Your audio driver may not be up to date or your system is not compatible." or it sits at the grey N logo screen for a while then the application silently fails and disappears.

I'm wondering if this is tied to the fact I can't seem to actually uninstall anything, every single reboot no matter what I do everything DDU uninstalls is back.

 

When you were installing the Realtek Drivers, did Windows bring up a scary looking popup asking if you want to install the driver or not?

 

Yeah I made sure I disabled driver signature verification, sometimes that first reboot fails and you have to restart the process. I also made sure to be disconnected from the internet the whole time and to use the anti-autoupdate registry patch.

 

I know of the issue your having but not the exact cause, nor do I know of less tedious solution.

The issue your describing stems from certain components required the UWP App not being installed/configured, both of them are background items (The service and product configuration).

The current solution I can come up with is running Uninstaller.exe followed by re-running the provided installer. Once done (after install reboot), give Windows some time to configure everything (Exact amount undetermined) before launching Nahimic.

 

So is it a matter of insufficient time before the post-install reboot or before the first launch after the post-install reboot? Because I've given it hours and that didn't seem to make a difference.

 

Like I said, I don't know what causes the issue, all I know that it's either the service not installed/running OR product configurations not being installed.

The service is tied to the following process(es): NahimicService.exe, NahimicSvc32.exe, NahimicSvc64.exe
The product configuration on the other hand I believe is registry based, but I'm not 100% sure.

 

I've got the first but neither of the other two. I think tomorrow i'll try another DDU-Uninstaller-Install cycle and wait a while between reboots that time.

 

Which part is giving you issues @Shadowex3, Is it Nahimic 3 or Realtek Audio Console?
Did you diconnect from the internet, Microsoft screwed my install of Audio drivers just the other day but installing thier own version which doesn't have Nahimic thus killing Nahimic with same error.
Seems the reg patch has been basically made redunant because of Microsoft being Microsoft even when it set not to download dam drivers from WSUS.

I did have some software cruft at the start of the process from my own attempts at isolating realtek and using that rather than MSI's stock nahimic 2 or upgrading to nahimic 3 but that's been cleared it since by all the uninstall cycles.

 

Try using the uninstaller again and disconnect from the internet before doing so, let it do its thing then whilst the internet is still off and the is has rebooted with driver enforcement off use the AIO again to install, then reboot whilst still disconnected and run Nahimic to see if it works. Once you get it working then reconnect to the internet.

Microsoft is becoming a bigger pain in the arse then ever before with their DCH driver campaign and it causes more issues then it solves.

I've been doing the entire process disconnected from the internet, the only thing I haven't tried yet is safe mode. The only thing I can think of is that somehow microsoft is still silently reapplying my other drivers since every reboot I get sound back, even if I use both DDU and your uninstaller and the registry patch.

I've also tried this on both 1903 and the previous version 180something.

Is it possible that my own previous attempts at getting either realtek only or nahimic 3 to work left some cruft somewhere not getting cleaned up by your uninstaller or DDU?

 

That's very possible, other then doing a backup of your important data and then doing a clean install I don't know what more that can be done.

- Disconnect from the internet (Blame Microsoft as they are still able to install drivers from Windows Update even when blocked with .reg file).

- Run the Uninstaller.exe Application, Then select "Yes", then "No, I will restart my computer later", the system will then reboot into Advance Boot Menu

- Once your at the Advance Boot Menu proceed to Select “Troubleshoot” -> Advanced options -> Startup Settings -> select “Disable driver signature enforcement” option.

- Once you have booted back into the OS Temporarily disable AV software.

- Copy to desktop then Right-click/Run as administrator "Realtek_UAD...mod.exe".

- When prompted (2x/3x) select "Install driver software anyway"

- Realtek installer, select "No, I will restart my computer later" to continue with RTK Audio Console & Nahimic installation (Invisible install)

- Check Start Menu to ensure Realtek Audio Control UWP and Nahimic 3 has been installed.

- Finally, reboot.

- Now you can safely connect to the internet (Yes middle finger Microsoft).

Known possible bugs and fixes:
Issue: Jack Detection not working.
Solution: Simply go to Realtek Audio Console Disable and Re-enable it.

Issue: Microphone not working after using Nahimic Optimizer.
Solution: Click Reset inside Nahimic Settings section will fix this.

Issue: Realtek UAD Driver is asking to uninstall a driver.
Solution: Let it happen, currently it's not known that doing this causes any issues with the UAD driver (could change in the future).
The only requirement, you must restart manually (the "No" option), and use the following command in the run box (WINKEY+R):

@JeanLegi @WildCard65 the above driver is now out of date lol, New Driver 6.0.1.8750.1 has been released lol. However although i have already made that version now on my VM Q-Branch. i will leave it till the newer version next month i think unless you want to test that one as well lol.

 

@ hacktrix2006 Well everything is working fine I mean sofware but sound effects are not working(((( But days ago everything was fine... well i tryed to renistall everything but still nothing ;(

 

Is this on the new driver 8746?

If so right click the speaker icon in the task bar and select Volume Mixer, select the speak icon then click advance tab. Make sure enable audio enhancement is checked if it is uncheck reboot and recheck after.

If not then I highly suggest on next beta test opening to put your name forward for test the new drivers.

1903 broke everything in my GT72

Cant install the old modded ones that you sent me over a private message, and the latest mod will install, but Realtek Audio Console just says unsupported system, Nahimic launches and then closes.

After doing a lot of tries I had the Realtek audio console working once, but as soon as I rebooted it said again system not supported.

What is "funny" is that the older version was working fine, till the 1903 update..

 

Strange, was this an inplace upgrade via Windows update?.

Did you go into Driver Signature Enforcement off mode?

@hacktrix2006 so something weird happened today .. i was afk for a bit and when i came back i had a prompt waiting for me "audio software updated and you need to restart system" now i assume it was microsoft being microsoft i had no choice but to restart but i have no clue what exactly it updated tho , i check driver was still same which i installed last time , but after i restarted all nahmic 3 effects were not working so i decided to update to above 8746.1 update everything done , but effects are not working still ,, and yes " enable audio enhancement" is checked for me idk what is broken

 

Yep sounds like Microsoft just overrode the driver like to roaches they are, have you used the reg file set to disable driver updates via the wsus system.

I also just comeback to that message and I was on 8750 drivers, with drivers disabled to be updated through WSUS.

However Nahimic 3 is now version 1.3.1

yes i have used reg file previously and even now when i redid whole thing

so it means nahimic got updated ? i dont know what version was nahimic before so coudnt confirm you might wana mention nahimic versions with each update to keep track perhaps
but my nahimic is 1.2.17 is that old ?

 

i just opened microshit store to look on nahimic and it gave me a prompt that i need to restart and now it updated to 1.3.1 idk if that will make effects work ill report back after reboot

Just updated to latest one nahimic is working now but for some reason its not as good it used to be seems specially the surround sound option or may be m just over hearing but m just glad its working @hacktrix2006 as always thanks a lot

Well from yesterday all the versions that you maade not working for me anymore... Dt know what happen but i tryed "100" maybe more times to reinstall Nahimic step by step like always and Im sure something happen coz all the time its giving me this kind of message after "loading" window


Well here is info about drivers and so on... Im sure something crashed or something.... coz non of old versions are working

Will have a look to see if I modded the cab file if not I will mode it and link you it to test, it will mean you need to reinstall the driver again. It would seem Microsoft is really working against me on this.

Edit: I no longer have any data on my mobile now and i will not be able to place any more on for the next two months. Yes i have a fixed connection however it takes 3-4 hours to upload as i am on a slow connection which can't be increased so i have been using my mobile data connection which has made uploads 30 seconds but the down side is its very expensive to do it that way.

So i thought i'd give you a heads up before hand.

Right driver 8117 I have not or ever modded intact that could be an old HDA driver which means no Realtek UWP or Nahimic 3 UWP would work full stop.

You need to use a modded UAD driver and follow the steps I have set out. Try the latest driver and follow the instructions. Also make sure you uninstall Nahimic 2/2+ and the old driver manually if it is a HDA driver and then follow the steps.

So I did an in-place reinstall of win10 and completely refreshed the operating system. Still a no go. Never thought I'd find an audio driver so awful it made me miss Creative Labs.

 

Its starting to look like Microsoft is closing the loop hole used in modding. I am modding the drivers the same way as i have always done.

 

Right i have found the issue, Microsoft is replacing the driver on some systems again, it was overriding my regedits as well however i have now found a hopeful fix.

Redownload the attached .zip file extract it and run Disable Auto Driver Updates.reg and reboot the system, then uninstall the drivers with the uninstaller and try reinstalling the drivers, Nahimic and RTK again.

Well maybe thats the end of nahimic 3 for old models coz microsoft did some trick

Right i thought i'd give everyone a heads up, the next release will have the Windows Automatic Driver Updates registery edits included in both the uninstaller and installer (Have to make sure microsoft understands the word NO!) so there will no longer be an attached file to the post with disable Windows Automatic Driver Updates, only one that enables it and returns the registery settings i changed back to stock.

 

I have the same Problem. After MS-Store updated the Nahimic App today, Nahimic told me, my System is Not supported. I reinstall all Driver, but without any effect. My System is a GT73VR with 6Gen. CPU.

I only used nahimic 3 cause nahimic 2 doesn‘t work any more with Windows 1903. The Nahimic 2 Audio Effects doesn’t work with Windows 1903. When someone has an idea how nahimic 2 runs with Win 1903, please let me know.

Realtek has packaged updated Nahimic uwp integration files in the 8757.1 UAD Nahimic (MSI) and UAD Gigabyte driver packs.

also - Nahimic 3 uwp app was updated to v1.3.1 about a week ago.
I also needed to run at least Win10 v1809 (RS5) to use this updated Nahimic 3 app as it seems the Nahimic uwp integration files bundled in newer Realtek UAD Nahimic driver packs don't seem to work correctly with v1803 anymore.

edit - I was able to privately "mod" the 8757 UAD Gigabyte driver pack (which does have the updated nahimic files), install Nahimic 3 v1.3.1 app and it worked on my Gigabyte board [audio enhancements are working]. Again, the Win10 RS5 (1809) version or higher must be used

also when getting the "not compatible" message in the Nahimic 3 app, try rebooting with shutdown.exe -r [type that in the Run dialog box] to see if the Nahimic service files are loaded correctly on a restart. also check the contents of the C:\ProgramData\A-Volute\A-Volute.Nahimic folder to see if there are a bunch of files & folders being store there [PM me on what specific files and folders should go there for the Nahimic 3 app to work]

 

@epguy3 PM me as for the Nahimic files the ones included with the last build is version 1.3.1, i am still looking into the issue fully to try and resolve it.

Mine is working but I did a uninstall then ddu run I finally then used my uninstaller and reinstalled.

Will also look at the new drivers however currently stuck on the slowest connection going after loosing my mobile data quota so even if I manage to build a new AIO it's going to take a while for it to upload.

Deleted due to issues with Anti-virus having a fit (There is no virus its flagging my use of calling for powershell admin again.) Will get a new driver up ASAP. Think i am going to have a rest after all just lost all my files.

 

i think there is an issue with all Nahimic with windows 10 1903 version, all DX12 games will not start (they crash to desktop without any error) unless you stop the nahimic service or switch to DX11 mode then all works, at least for me, any idea how to fix that?
