This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    My GE60 is dying after 3 years. Case is falling apart :(

    Have you checked with MSI tech support to see if they can sell you parts so you can perform repair on your own?
    Of course, if this system still works fine for you.

    its the whole case that is falling apart.Would need a whole new screen and case.

    Guys, does any GE70 owner want to decrease tearing in games with screen to provide 72Hz and more instead of 60?

    I wrote a tutorial on MSI Forum and one member claims he successfully did it. He can set 72 and 88Hz now.

    The only problem is he is the only one who tried and is newly registered however I can say for sure that he doesn't sound like noob because I had a chat with him via skype.

    The method is straight: you boot to Linux (Mint in my guide) and flash the modified EDID. So there is always a risk when flashing something. I can write guide here if someone is willing to try. Or PM for Skype name.
