    Hi buddys!

If anyone interested on a 1060m with modded HS i sell or trade for a 970m/880m + € on this forum but its really possible my sell post its deleted because i don't accomplish 100 minimum post and i understand that reason. If anyone interested that, please send PM. I sell with modded HS and if its requiered i can send modded drivers 378.78 thats actually have on my laptop. This card they have a really good chip, turbo boosts somtimes rises 1920Mhz without any overclock with 80cº max temp so i think its a really good unit card. Actually i works with 150w psu and 3630qm with only modded drivers and laptop bios and EC firmware ( Thanks another 1000 time to Svet!)

Reason for sale its because i dont need that impresive powerfull for play Overwatch on my 1080 60hz screen, card never rises 50% and i dont play to much games so i prefer money than that amazing power

If anyone needs modded drivers for a 1060 config, please tell me and i send that.

    @Bebotrip,

Can you post some pictures on your 1060m benches (Firestrike etc), actual pics of the card itself, heatsink and what GT60/70(Ivy or haswell) you are referring to? So that people may know (not just by words) that it is really working with these models.

    Thanks

Sell post deleted, bad notice for me but i understand the rules. Now i have more time to get the test so please tell me what do you need. HS its gx60 hd7970m modded buyed on ebay, my gt70 its ivy version wit 3630qm. The card works like a champ. What test do you need? Firestrike + timespy? I check you have 970m, im looking to trade + € for me, and if ypou have unlocked bios and EC firm you only need modded drivers and RUN!

I don't have in mind to trade my 970m to your 1060 but what is the vbios version? There are several 1060's out there. G-sync, non-Gsync, and the mxm format standard got two as well, the slim type and the expanded one.

It would be very helpful if you post some screen shots and not just say that "the card works well with my GT70".

Try Kombuster and do the "Bindless Furry torus" stress test. Check if it's stable or not. Just to prove here in the community that this can be fully compatible with the nb.

    Thanks

Today i get Firestrike test, time spy and kombustor test, stay conected

Its fully compatible with gt60/70 Ivy/Haswell and i have a modded HS for it. I don't know if work with other msi models

@onurtag i had the same issue with my 880m and i was also thinking about to get the mentioned 980m.

But on this sellers offer - like on almost all other in china - it is not mentioned that this is a nvidia chip. On their Pictures of the Card it is not. Maybe they Photoshop it out, and the Brand on this offer is just "piple".

So is this chip the genuine Nvidia GM204?

Is this Card with or without G-Sync?

If I got you right, then you did'nt have flashed a new vBios, and the one the Card came with is 84.04.2f.0079 ?

Or if you reflashed it, which vBios did you use?

Whats your 3Dmark11 result with the new Card?

I downloaded 3Dmark11 and scored it for you. The graphics score is 12058. I didn't overclock or update the vbios at all.
    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/12341069
You can see the nvidia logo on the right edge center of the first picture I posted.
As for gsync I have no idea how I can test that as I don't have a gsync monitor. But on nvidia's page it says that 980m is gsync compatible.

If you want to be extra cautious and/or have extra cash you might want to go with safer options.

We have GTX 1060 standard size MXM 3.0b cards available. Also soon we are launching standard size MXM3 GTX 1070 and 1080. We have RX580 available too but so far we didn't test them in any of MSI models.

I have Gt70 IVy bridge with gtx 1060 working really really really well with really good temps and clocks. Turbo boost rises up to 1920MHz and never pass 82ºC on really hot summer in Spain. Everithing works on the laptop, optimus works, steelseries works, hdmi output works, all works, no issues or bugs. So definitively works 100% well.

Only requisits its Unlocked bios and special EC firmware from Svet with unlocked tdp (only if needs Oc or unlocked CPU). And of course modded nvmii.inf drivers

You ask thee reseller for a non-gsync version. Ether version of the GPU will work however so it doesn't matter.

Gsync is still disabled on the 1C60 version I have because off how gsync works.

If you system is using LVDS then it will not work unless your system uses optimus and the Intel GPU is active. There is a thread on this forum for resellers of GPUs eurocom is one of them, there are other members on here to that sell them as well. I would link you but I am on my tablet right now using tapa its in hardware area if I remember right.

I have an GT60-ivy bridge and I am very interested if it really will work because my unit uses lvd connector. Taobao I belive is the most cheapest 1060 I've seen compared to ebay. So if ordering in Taobao reliable? If you heard one of the members here ordered one let me know if they are reliable.

    **************************************
I saw the post that you linked on it. it says " the backside a big squared capacitator"

Do you have any picture of the back side of the mxm board so that I can see what is that capacitor? Thanks

    https://www.techinferno.com/index.p...x-r2-another-socket-victory-against-bga-crap/

    ***************

I've seen the capacitor at the back... The question is, will this mxm 1060m fit on an msi gt60 with those capacitor (at the back of the mxm board) not hitting anything on the motherboard? Because the layout is a bit different with GT 60. You need to take out the gpu bracket before it properly fits to the board.

    Hi buddyes!

I recently buyed my new fantastic alienware 13r3 but im really disaponted with the Cpu present on the lappy. After work on my modded Gt70 with gtx 1060 on this last year i check the 3630qm its a really good Cpu for have more than 4 years! My actually config ( 6700hq+1060+16ram+nvme) runs same Fps and nearly same benchmark points than 'oldest' gt70 (3630qm+1060+16ram+raid0 ssd md). So if anyone looks to 'upgrade' or buy a new ones, take care because if go for a new laptop that costs 1300 to 1500 with 1060 for get same power than a 'cheap' upgrade.

Im really disaponted with intel for that **** upgrade. 4 years old cpu runs 8% slower than a 2016 cpu, insane.....

Go for GPU + cpu upgrade, i think a 1060 + 3940xm (4940xm) its one of the most powerfull config and runs closer to 7700 (non k) + 1060 desktop and wait for coffe lake 6 core cpu

Yeah, honestly the entire CPU line from intel is almost a scam. Only select few processors stand out, particularly due to unlocked turbo bins or turbo state. Most of the regular CPUs tend to have the same sustained performance.

6700HQ was actually a regression in performance, in some ways, because its turbo speeds were so low (3.1ghz) on quad core. I modified the EC on my old GT80, and even my old 4720HQ ran at sustained 3.6ghz on quad core, netting me even better benchmarks than a new CPU.

Hello, I own an Msi 1761(gtx780dx) and my gpu died out and am eaiting for an 970m replacement coming in.

I ve found a picture on how to mod the heatsink to fit the 970m but I dont own a rotary tool to grind out the part that is supposed to be cut out. Is there any other way to do that?

Also, its an Msi version card, do I have to flash a new bios and vbios for it?

Thanks for the mention kind sir !

We're already in contact too, as for the cards, the good thing about MSI is you do not usually need a modified driver, because so long as you have the latest firmware/EC and bios usually your good to go once you have the right vbios on the videocard, which is something most sellers offer, myself included if that is something anyone wished to know.

Incases where the wrong vbios is used the effects can range from no picture, to no card being detected to poor performance or throttling. We eliminate that by making sure the card's vbioses matches the specs of the laptop, where applicable. Some vbioses are used for multiple like chipsets and systems, and much more universal, this is more present with DELL/HP where there are fewer vbioses for most cards, but they run the same, but much more attention is required for SLI capable systems, older MSI systems and the 17" line up of Alienware's use different, as well as many Clevo's all require different vbioses.

Hope that helps, I know its not an exact science and I'm not listing every vbios there is and where it goes, because the list would go on and on and also be subjective and a lot of it would be linking multiple collaborations of other peoples work as well as our own and then it almost gets more personal with people's preferred vendors and etc..

I just try avoid that, however, any vbios from me specifically, is tested for 100% compatibility, sometimes there are issues that arise, which require troubleshooting, and 95% of the time, the issue is not having the latest windows or system bios or EC firmware or bad NVidia driver versions (notoriously... hence why I update to latest drivers seldom, and only when very efficient)

@talon, @woodzstack and anyone else in the know. hey guys,i have a msi gt70 2pc.latest bios (unlocked by svet) and ec.Upgraded to gtx 980m 8gig.every thing seems to work fine, temps are good.my 3dmark firestrike score was kinda lower than expected, but it shows about 20% increased performance in games than my old gtx 870m 3 gig.Was wondering if i needed to tweak the bios?or if i need a better vbios,Im not looking to over clock, just want to optimize the system. The current vbios is 84.04.22.00.0A , it is a green msi card.are all gtx 980m 8 gig vbios compatible across all cards?ie if i try a clevo vbios it wont brick my card?thanks

Thats the right vbios you need. Just saying, oh and NO not all vbioses are great accross all machines, some will not even work in one and work in another some with throttle or be stuck at lower powered states.

There really is a long list of vbioses, but a good 5-6 make up the bulk of what works best.

If Svet had done it for you it's usually tweaked already by him. There isn't much you can do besides tweaking your processor, which you stated that you don't want to go for.

Sorry bro. I did never do that. For sure you can plug a hard drive, but maybe you have to settle it with some american tape. In order to replace a DVD, maybe this can suit your request: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-HL-CT4...021524?hash=item33afc16e14:g:4EoAAOSweW5VS4iq

I never changed it, so I don't know how easy it could be.

You probably have the GT70 0ND system and you can use memtest from an USB flash drive to boot and verify for errors. For GPU upgrade, you can have several options available.

A 970M + 256GB SSD + 16GB RAM is around 400$ + 80$ + 150$ = 630$. It is a reasonable price for such an update, but are you sure is it not better to think buying a new laptop?

The 970M is the best option for the upgrade. I think the 980M/1060 are too expensive for a laptop upgrade instead of a new laptop
