Could you post your vBios? The last working one given by eurocom?

I wrote a letter to the "Svet" msi guru man. I asked to help me. Problem with low Watts. The laptop can not pick up over 180W. Games are all normal. The tests did not. Combined test ate a lot.
(pl. 3DMark11 combined test .... disaster) Fps is greatly reduced. Great movement. Throttling. Display light decreases, fades. Rough.

Kingdom Come Deliverance game ..... max gpu load (97%) 82-84 degrees.
I'll figure out something. There's a plan, but I have little time. Later.

I'm an amateur but I do not give up.
    Is not over yet.

    Ok thanks.
So basically you flashed a MSI 1070GTX vbios on your EUROCOM (Gecube?) 1070? Big leap of faith as the MSI TDP is 150W and the EUROCOM's is only 115W.

    Problem......
bios version: E1763IMS.11D .... this is good (MSI)

EC Firmware: 1763EG61 ver 7.14 ...... this is not good (Medion Erazer)
Bad EC Firmware, limited to 180W. There is nothing new.

Medion Erazer is dead, I did not find anything.
MSI EC does not go up. We have not managed so far.

As the Eurocom 1070 is only 115W TDP, it's only about 10% better than stock 1060 GTX from MSI. If you flash the vbios to unlock the TDP, you should be on par with that one.
And with the 180W PSU of the GT60/70, you are quickly limited. Honestly, you picked the right card, 1060s are best bang for the buck atm for GT60/70s.

You're right. Since Medion was bought by Lenovo, they dumped MSI.
They now use Clevo chassis but only with soldered BGA CPU/GPU.
The website is still on and you can still download bioses and EC firmware though.

    Hi everyone!
    I have a MSI GT70 2oc and I would like to make upgrade from 980m to 1070.
I can see that the GTX 980m specification has a TDP of 125W and the Eurocom 1070 has a TDP 115W or even a 95W with bios blocked.
Can anyone explain what it's all about?
On the Eurocom website, this gt70 2oc laptop model does not have a GTX1060 / GTX1070 upgrade option configurator..

Because my gtx980m despite the 180W AC adapter works great!

mr007rm can you write step by step what you had to do to make the card work?
    for example.
    1.vBios update
    2.Heatsink mod
    3. inf file mod
    e.t.c
And what is the performance of this card in GT70? What I understand reading the topic, you can not do a benchmark. but the card works in games? any FPS samples? temps?

Does anyone know which versions of the cards will work with LVDS Displays?
And what do you think about these Chinese cards from Aliexpress?
Did anyone deal with them? they look identical to Eurocom ones.

    oh ... so many questions..

Does the laptop boot to windows?
Can you see it through a remote session ?
Do you see "hard disk" LED light activity when you turn it on (which shows that it is loading from the disk drive?)
From what i've seen, the laptop should output to HDMI if the LVDS connection is not working but I really don't know.

    Does this laptop have optimus?
Did you read the GT70 thread that I linked? I know that eDP laptops can be upgraded (as the 980m to 1060 thread shows) but i know nothing about GT70 to Pascal. Might want to read that thread and see.

Well, there was no driver install. Since windows didn't recognize it.
Made the caed change and first it was nor recognized even by bios
Then, after svet help, unlocking the bios, it got recofnized by bios but not by windows.
    And that's the actual situation.
I tried to install thw nvidia driver but, as it is not recognized by windows, it keeps saying that there is no nvidia card to install the drivers.

    Finally!!
    i got it working
i'm going to tell every detail
i got the eurocom 1070 card from woodzstack
and first, i placed the card and the thermal paste and the thermal pad it had.
    But, didn't worked
So, i asked woodzstack and he recommended me to ask svet
Svet was a very resourceful guy
    Very attentive and quick.
so, i paid the donation, that considering the success, i would have paid more. (In fact i think i will)
well, i paid and he asked me about my pc and prepared a modded bios for my pc.
Then, after doing prepare usb, load file, flash process (it has more steps)
I tried again, but nothing changed
And then i tried using the original 880m and it didn't worked also, so i thought i was done.
Both wasn't recognized by windows and i thought i was going to have a gaming pc with a intel hd4600 card
but, then again, svet helped me with another modded bios
(I sincerely don't know what changed in it)
And to be on the safe side (emotionally), i first tried with the old 880m. (I wanted to make sure there was a way to make it back to the 880m, since i didn't expected the 1070 card to work in my MSI GT70 2PE (yes, i'm proud because it's my first gaming notebook so far)

but, when i restarted the pc....
Both left and right side screen turned on!
    as it was before
So, without wait, i changed the graphic card to the 1070
And it was recognized by windows!!
    Way to go!! Right?
Then i followed woodzstack's indication on driver installation and....
    And it worked!!
    It has several issues, thou.
I have a error on the intel hd4600 (but hey, i have a working 1070, so... gaming aspect, who needs it. On non gaming aspect, well.... i wont be able to take out of my house until i fix it, if there is a fix)

it's not a modded one, so i don't have nvidia control panel or anything because i can't install the official one. (Keep saying it can't find any driver) and so, no tweaking

Oh and also lost boost cooling and G control panel items
    (Keyboard lighting, airplane mode, etc)
Svet told me it was because of the different bios and graphic card.

Good think is that i purchased thermal grizzly conductonaut with 73w conduction and a new .. unknown conduction capacity thermal pads.(thar came with the 1070 card)

So, even when i play for example, no man's sky on ultra or high, or shadow of mordor on high settinf, it doesn't come out hot air.
As woodzstack told me, 1070 generates less heat.

I still have to install a modded driver (the links that was given prior, i tried but can't install the .inf file)

Also, i had to do a lot of ec resetting on the way, between cards and trials
I think i easily did 15 times the ec resetting.

I'm still not done, but at least i will be able to play VR games with my notebook!
And way cheaper than purchasing a new pc!!

With this, i will be able to save for a better one, few years later.

Thanks a lot to woodzstack, for the cards and support.
And SVET, for the modded BIOS and the support on checking and the new modded BIOS

I got this VR benchmark values.
not bad for a 4 to 5 years old pc, huh?

    Well, despite the initial euphoria.
i couldn't get intel hd 4600 card get along with the 1070 card.

    Svet helped me again
Made some modifications to the original video card drivers (nvidia) to see if that can solve the conflict between cards
    but nothing came of it.

The hd4600, if i disable the 1070, works.

Also, couldn't get de dvi port work with the card.
i have only hdmi port working with the card.
better than.nothing, but i miss my 3.screen configuration.

Maybe i'll get a bigger screen
    Lol

Have you tried some games already on the 1070?

Comparing the 980m and the 1070 on the Haswell i7, what kind of FPS's do you get?

My major concern is that my i7-4720HQ will be a major limitation if I upgrade to a 1070, I know that in BF1 my CPU is at 100% usage when pushing around 90Fps's, but I dont play all that much online games beside light titles like CS:GO and LoL, so those pose no problem.

    Thanks for the data points!

    the op is here
wow! someone managed to put the msi gtx 1070m into a gt70!
we need to make a post about the steps of it, but what i need now from you mr Hironori is to make everything documented with pictures
what is the price of the card? and how did you get it ? and we need FPS reports of heavy games like DOOM and crysis 3 to compare with the 980m/1060m
please respond ASAP as i'm considering getting that card :D

    Hi.

I think i wonlt be able to help you out with the pictures
You see, i failed before succeeding and well, followed the same process.

Took all bolts from lower part of laptoo, remover the cover, unscrewed fan bolt, then heatsink bolts, unscrewed graphic card's bolts etc.

The price of the card.... i think it was about 900CAD. i bought it from woodzstack

i can't say much about comparison between the 880m and 1070 i installed
Because i didn't do any benchmark with 880m

All i can say is that for example, no man's sky, i couldn't play on maximum quality because game play became slow and unresponsive. But with 1070 it was smooth. Not a single delay nor slowness.

But, it died. My laptop. So, can't help you much.

    Yes....
    I don't know

Seems like it was some circuit or something

I was playing a game and then suddenly the laptop turned off

And afterwards, i tried several times but it only turned on and after a few seconds off.(even fan didn't turned on)

Then, i dissawembled all, checked it, and assemblied again and turned on. and fan turned.on but no screen, no keyboard.
    So, i declared officialy dead.

please try to send it to a maintenance center near you so might someone help

You can ask svet if he can make a BIOS for you with microcude abuse for the 4720HQ, that way its going to be unlocked. Given the performance of the GT 72s cooling you likely can go up to 4.2 - 4.4ghz while maintaining around low 80s c in games without severe modding.
