I think yes, but if the card is not supported, the driver must be modified before installation. This is already the case after 980m. And even the digital signature needs to be turned off ... bios boot (7, F7)

With the GT70 power limitation, that seems more money then its worth, but i'm curious. I hope you get some good results.
I have my GTX 1070m (dell version) on the way from china.

Was also able to source a GT72 2QD for €165. Another toy for the collection.
Much better cooling then the GT70, m.2 ssd raid support,... unfortunately the cpu is soldered...

Does anyone know if the GT70 ONE has anti-ghosting keys? Playing apex lagends I feel that more than 4 keys at the same time it does not respond.

I have a GT70 2oc currently rocking a GTX 770m, but I wanted to upgrade it to a 1070, i went up and bought one of those Dell variants from AliExpress without much thought, it hasn't arrived yet, but probably will in the next 1 work or so ( already in my country).
Do I have any hope of it working?

Yes you can. I have an GT70 ONE and raplace a GTX680m for an GTX 1070 and works well .INF MOD procedure of version 372.90.
But now Look at my curious case. When I do the .INF MOD procedure of version 372.90 (first generation GTX 1xxx drive, Mar / 16) it installs correctly and works well in games and any application. The problem is that new games are coming and I need to install a newer drive. So I tried the same procedure with version 465.89 (Mar / 21) Installed correctly, drive says installed and working but the Nvidia panel does not open. It also says that it is installed but does not trigger the video card. Strange. Some idea to fix ?

I am planning to do an ultimate upgrade to my MSI 1762 (with the BIOS unlocked by Svet from MSI forums):
    Current config:
    CPU: 3630qm
    GPU: 980m (8GB)
    PSU: 180W

    Planned upgrade:
    CPU: 3840qm
GPU 1070m (or Quadro P4X00/P5X00 if I find them cheaper than 1070m)
    PSU: 230W or 330W.
Please advise if a 230W PSU is enough to run the system smoothly or I need to go for a 330W PSU?
I read about possible power limits of 1762 or was it GT70 0ND (on which this barebone is based on), hopefully, the unlocked BIOS will help, if not, well, what to do. I will have to UV the card.

@Dennis Hawks Laptop and I are very much still alive.

There were some hiccups. But I am successfully running an i7 4940mx and a GTX 1070on my GT70.
I had to Underclock the CPU &GPU and Undervolt the CPU to get it stable.
performance is still MILES ahead of what it was when it was running an i7 4700mq and a GTX 770.
I am writing up a more in depth post, detailing what i had to do, and why, and how it is working right now.
I just haven't got a lot of time to get to it, between work, raising a kid and other projects that take priority.

but i am EXTREMELY thankful for everyone here on this forum. especially @Tenoroon that walked me through the .INF mod.

Hello my fellow GT70's. I have a question for you guys. I've had my GT70 2OC for many years probably 6yrs. This weekend I was watching a Youtube video of a guy upgrading his bios, ( I'm sure you know where this is going). Long story, short I have the black screen and have tried almost everything to recover my bios. It was stupidity on my part, but hey you live and you learn. My question is, can I just buy a new MB to fix it?

Thank you and lastly, is it me or do GT70's get bricked a lot with bios upgrades?

You can just buy a cheap CH341 with a SOIC-8 clip, and maybe a SOIC-8 ZIF socket in case the clip doesn't work, grab a working BIOS dump from bad-caps and flash your BIOS, replacing the motherboard due to a failed BIOS update is a waste of money.

Also, there's a small chance the update bios deactivated my keyboard so maybe that's why I haven't been able to recover bios. I need to find a wired keyboard to check.

Flashing a BIOS EEPROM/flash chip is universal, its always the same process for every laptop and desktop motherboard.
I can help you if you have specific questions.
See this video a couple times:

Thanks, I bought the tools today Ch341a mini prog also with the soic 8 adapter. There's a lot of different guides out there, and a few different ways so that makes it a bit confusing. I'll definitely look into the video you shared. One of my biggest worries is: I don't know what bios version I had before trying to update to the new one. Not sure how I will figure that out and will probably need that info when programming the recovery bios version.

    Laptop info

    MSI GT70 2OC 065US
    Bios chip : cFeon QH64 104HIP
    Motherboard: MS-17631 VER 1.1
    Win 10

That's the bad part. At 2:15 the screw he removed so that the gpu would pop up. I removed that screw and mines remained flat as if it is glued down. I tried to to wiggle the top to see if I could get it to pop up but no budge. I would post a pic but this forum won't let me load one up with an outside url site

Grab a Hair Dryer and give it a good warming then a gentle (or firm) wiggle and tug!
