Only saw this thread now, otherwise I would have chimed in. INTEL 8260 over Killer 1535 anyday !

Do not kid yourself... the intel chip is like 20$ all over the place, and is waaay better. Always has been and always will be. It also supports the miracast wireless tech, does dual bands and has low latency. you can also do all the things the KILLERNICS say you only get on thier cards with an INTEL card too, but you have to go to properties in the device manager on the hardware itself..

killer is a price gouging rebrand of over produced products that needed to be sold. It's all marketing in other words. Snake oil premium added !

Killer = good hardware, spoiled by dodgy drivers for years, could never get a stable connection with any of their cards

Better range on the 8265, MU-MIMO Support, maybe it's a placebo effect but I feel that browsing is much snappier

Or prettier wrapped in glossy words from Intel corporation... "The main difference is that the ac 8265 is the 4th Generation of Intel 802.11ac, therefore, it includes full support the latest ac features such as MU-MIMO, 802.11r, 802.11k, 802.11v (pending)":D

IF the fastest loading time of pages should be on direct cable, even on 6700K, there are some times Facebook takes 1 second to load the next part of the feed. This is visible if you have already browsed 1.2 KM down the feed, but eh...

Guys I'm about to drop on the P751 Clevo and have the same question.. Killer 1535 or Intel 8260? I personaly don't love the killer software but if it's better hardware i could go for it.

    Intel all the way.

I had killer 1535 or 1525 in my prior laptop, Alieware 17r2. It was unstable and crashes a lot. Yes, I upgraded to the latest driver and etc.... Swapped to 8260 and never had a wifi issue since.

I now have an Acer Predator 17 with Killer 1535. Latest driver suite. Yesterday, I was downloading games, each between 1.5gb to 6gb. I got crashes at least 10 times downloading 6 games. Each time, the speed would slow to a crawl. When I check the wifi status, Window tells me it can't fix it, it has lost its proxy setting. I had to disable/enable. Other times, Windows could repair, error was default gateway fixed. Today, I was updating my Nvidia driver, a mere 3xx mb download. Guess what? Killer crashed 80% into it. I had to manual disable/enable. I have had it with it. I now have an Intel 8265 on order via ebay from China.

It really depends on your luck.. For me killer Wifi is much more stable on my routers then Intel Wifi so I've really liked the Killer 1525 I have... Others say Intel is better... One thing I agree with the Intel people is the Killer bluetooth drivers are junk and it's a pain to make it work but for someone like me who uses it once a year, not really a problem...

Killer all the way, but install driver only not Killer Suite. Intel still has longstanding driver bug for years that causes periodic ping spikes on many routers, which sucks for gaming over WiFi, unless WLAN Optimizer or Registry editing is used. Killer is ping spike free OOTB.

I have been having issues with my killer 1435 in my MSI GT72 disabling itself and not allowing you to enable it. The only fix is a restart which it usually freezes on unless you do it manually by holding down the power button. I have just ordered the intel 8260 so hope fully it works better, its a bummer since when the killer does work it works great but the random disconnect is a deal breaker for me.

The Killer AC1535 has an issue where if you are downloading a few files and basically put the card under heavy load, it simply disables itself from device manager and thus, disconnecting you temporarily. I was experiencing the same issue myself and when I googled it, I found this: http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/t/19658353

Unfortunately there wasn't one available soon enough. I'm moving out of the country in 4 days, got the 8260 in and no issues so far and range seems good enough. Main thing is no drops of service!

Intel WLAN cards are the most stable. I can't remember how happy I was when I upgraded from the Killer N1525 (if I remember correctly) to the Intel AC 7260! all my BSODs stopped and no more disconnections.

    Intel >

Some fixes I have seen is if you uninstall all Killer software (Suite and Drivers), restart, then clean install I have seen some success with people with similar issues.

I can only speak for linux so far, but I switched for an Intel 8260 to a Killer 1535 because of a serious problem.
Latency, it was really bad, especially in highly congested networks (33C3 wifi with multiple thousand clients) where my older ath9k card and my phone outperformed the Intel 8260 by a factor of 10 an more.
I replace the card in my HP 820 G3 and will possibly never switch back :) am quite happy with the result of the change.
I vented some steam on twitter https://twitter.com/DooMMasteR/status/814158722549346305

My current laptop (AW 17 R3) has the Killer 1535 in it. I got the AW beginning of Nov. On two occasions, when the laptop woke up, the Killer just disappeared, I had to reboot, for Windows to find it again. A minor inconvenience. I have reloaded Win 10 a couple times since then and had no occurrences since. I have had Intel cards in my P7811fx and many of my Thinkpads, and aside from some driver issues 8 years ago on the 7811fx, I've not had a single problem with any of the Intel cards. One thing that does concern me is that there are frequent disk writes from the Killer software (presumably from updating some tuning statistics). This happens too often for my liking since I had a SSD. But I would not tell someone to stay away from Killer.

I would imagine if your goal is ultimate performance, then probably Killer is the way to go. If you want something that just works, go with Intel.

Just wondering, has anything changed with the Intel 8265? Is it a better card than the 8260 with 2x2 MU MIMO support build in?

Lucky for you most SSDs can last for several Petabytes:
    https://techreport.com/review/27909/the-ssd-endurance-experiment-theyre-all-dead

But yeah, this is a minor problem. Far bigger is the fact that you have to reset at times.

    I definitely prefer Intel.

I just bought the Intel-8265 to replace the Wireless NIC in my laptop. Super smooth install! Drivers picked it up right away and rock solid wifi now. I was debating over Killer 1535 and Intel 8265 and chose the latter because it is half the cost and I had heard that the Killer NIC had some driver stability issues. I would highly recommend it as an upgrade...

I bought mine here on eBay ($24). Great price!

I have Intel thingy, never a dropped signal, full signal most of times, but I can't play dota2 at a 10m distance from the router, I get ping spikes of 3000ms. The ping spikes seem to be from the router tho as they happen when I use my smartphone as wifi connection as well

Are your antenna wires securely connected to the card? Low range can be a result of a poor connection.

That could also be related. I know the 5GHz band is shorter range than the 2.4 but not that short. Also, phones don't take as much advantage of 5, might think about switching smaller devices to 2.4

The router is pretty old and cheap tho, it might be part of the reason .

At any rate, I'm not really disaapointed. works well for it's purpose and I guess that updating to a decent route would be the first stop to debuggigng the problem.

The latest drivers only installation for Killer Wireless AC which claims to fix the disconnection issue was released

    http://www.killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/category/other-downloads

hopefully it solves the problem once and for all. I personally had less disconnection after I switch to drivers only discarding the Killer Suite, but disconnection still happens once in a while especially gaming which is frustrating.

Are you running just the drivers or do you have Killer Network Manager installed? If you have Killer Network Manager installed remove this and see if your connection improves.

Hi! I just bought a MSI GS63VR and im waiting to be delivered. It comes with the Killer 1535 wifi module. Will i be able to connect the laptop to my tv wirelessly?? or that feature is only for intel modules? I want to use the tv as the main screen (at least when im on my bedroom) with no cables.

    Thanks guys!

The feature should be possible through some kind of third party software regardless of the wifi module

I think that if the TV is Android you can use some software to connect to it and make the connection through your wifi rather than directly, but it should be entirely possible

If not, those two modules should be interchangable and it should work alright if you get the Intel one and change it yourself :D

I think you'll need another device like a chromecast or a wireless display adapter.

I have an apple tv 4 and a amazon tv stick. But actually never thought of them for that task, but it might be a solution.

If the intel 8260 (or 8265) has a better solution (widi) and has good wifi range, since i also need that, i may open my laptop and change the module..

Btw i prefer the killer just give me solutions. See im kinda complicated, lol.
