@D2 Ultima
Did you try the TCP Optimizer? I feel my browsing is snappier now -
This is me simply pinging my modem/router (it's one unit). I'm connected by wireless ac as well. I tried using the standalone router connection we have and it didn't make a difference. This card, in itself, seems to have issues holding a stable connection for me. -

Also ensure you don't have any apps in the background that may be using any bandwidth when you run the test.
Finally, what AV are you using? I am using NOD32 so I disable it when running the test as it has an HTTP scanner which I don't want it to affect the test results
@D2 Ultima
is this the driver you're using? https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...re-and-Drivers-for-Windows-8-1-?product=86068Last edited by a moderator: Feb 12, 2017 -
I can guarantee you this problem stems from the card and not the OS or programs running. Especially since my P370SM3 if I boot it now (and shove an external monitor on it so I can actually see something) will have far more things running and far less (which is to say no) problems with latency. That's what's annoying me.
And yes, that is the driver I was using.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

@D2 Ultima: Have you tried using WIn PE or Linux LiveCD to rule out any hardware issues? Have you disabled uPnP and have you checked if your wifi channel is optimal using wifi analyser app? -

Disable Windows Connection Auto Tuning
To check values, type the following in an elevated command prompt:
netsh interface tcp show global
To disable Window Auto-Tuning:
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
To enable Window Auto-Tuning:
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
This is for Windows 10 but maybe it works on Windows 8D2 Ultima likes this. -
Edit: also no dice. It seems this card is doing what it wants. It might be faulty.Last edited: Feb 13, 2017Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

I replaced my Killer 1535 with an Intel 8260. While the WiFi was much better, I noticed a strange problem with the Bluetooth portion. I use my Xbox One controller this way and saw that games were not performing as well as when it was connected to the Killer card or directly via USB.
For example, in Dishonored, I would get strange stuttering, and the framerate would vary wildly between 70-110 when using the controller wirelessly on the Intel card. Using it over USB pegged the framerate at 130, which is the limit set within the game's configuration files. I put the Killer card back in, and the controller behaved pretty much the same as it did wired. There were a couple very minor drops, but nothing less than 110 fps. Further, after a cold start or reboot, the controller would sync with the Intel card just fine the first time. But after it powered off, it would not reconnect unless I unpaired/re-paired it. I tried a couple different Intel drivers with similar results.
Believe it or not, I'm going to keep the Killer card because I use the Bluetooth way more often than the WiFi.hmscott likes this. -

StartIsBack has an issue which I've reported to the developers ages ago and he refuses to fix it.
You see, with Windows 7, let's say you launch a program, CCleaner for example......
That program will now appear in the start menu on the left pane frequently used programs......
If you right click on it and choose remove from list, it won't show again, but if you launched it a few times again, it will show up again in the list which is how the start menu should work. It should show you the frequently access programs in the list on the left.
Now, with StartIsBack, if you remove a program from the list thinking maybe you won't need it there to show up as you aren't going to use it often, but later start using it more, it will never populate in that frequently accessed programs, it's gone........forever....you have to manually hunt for it from the Start Menu.
Classic shell works exactly like the Windows 7 start menu, it will re-add a program if you removed it from the list after you have run it a few times. Classic Shell is basically, the Windows 7 start menu ripped from Windows 7 and move to Windows 10
Here is my XML settings file if you want the start menu to look exactly like Windows 7 but with the PC Settings shortcut in there for ease of access: Download Phoenix Classic Shell XML Settings

Once you have Windows 10 installed, feel free to tag me so I can set it up for you and get rid of all the junk and disable the privacy invasion stuff.
