No icon, no 'bluetooth' option to enable it under devices where it should be if the system detects the presence of a bluetooth module.
The icon did appear that one time it decided to work, but again, was gone after the next reboot.
Hardware fault, perhaps?

Hey all,
I just bought the Acer V15 Nitro and the N1525 network card seperately.
I am having trouble installing drivers and getting the newly installed network card working.
The drivers at Qualcomms website seem to be missing and links are dead.
http://www.qca.qualcomm.com/resources/driverdownloads/
I tried installing drivers I found on MSI's website for ITX motherboards that have the N1525 M.2 card. That also did not fix my problem.
Could anyone guide me through what I need to do to configure these drivers properly? I see that some of you got it working properly and I am stumped.
Thank you for any help.
Edit:
The device is appearing in device manager as network device I believe.
Here is the link to MSI drivers I used.

Maybe ask in the forum for your notebook brand and model about enabling BT.
@figgypuddin
I'm using Killer Performance Suite 1.1.49.1068 and Bluetooth driver 3.0.0.432(Windows 8.1 x64)
Links are in posts #38 and #41 -
Very frustrating. Not sure what the problem could be. -

Are the pin outs the same?
Was the card and drivers uninstalled from the original card before the Killer N1525 was installed? -
I believe the pin outs were the same, the N1525 was smaller then the original card but still fit appropriately in the M.2 slot using less of the slot.
I did not uninstall the driver from the original card. How can I do that after removing it?Last edited: Jan 21, 2015 -

Normally when a new Killer Performance Suite is installed the installation process would first uninstall the old driver/software > reboot > then install the new driver/software
In a perfect world everything will work as planned but....
KillerCleaner is the Official Qualcomm Atheros removal Tool
KillerCleaner x64:
http://fichiers.touslesdrivers.com/36031/KillerCleaner_64bit.exe
You can also use a Quality uninstaller program like the 30 day trial of Total Uninstal or Your Uninstaller on highest removal settings
Sometimes just using Control Panel > Programs and Features > uninstall feature is enough to get rid of the old drivers stopping the new being installed. -
That removal tool and a driver reinstall did the trick.
Saved me a lot of head scratching. Thank you for trouble shooting such a simple overlooked step. Your help is much appreciated. -

Hey guys, as the last piece of investigation for my new laptop, I'm trying to understand what are the main differences between a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 and a Qualcomm Atheros Killer Wireless-AC 1525. The laptop is mostly intended for gaming. What are the improvements of using a Killer card?
-
WhatsThePoint Notebook Virtuoso
Both equal in Internet download speed,
N1525 better for home Network file transfers
Both are not the greatest using their included Bluetooth
Intel offers their drivers on Intel Downloads site + easy to get latest Official WHQL
Qualcomm Atheros closed their download site and now you need to rely on your notebook maker for driver updates.downloads likes this. -
Thanks for your reply. So would you rather recommend me a AC 7265 then?
I found this for the official specifications of the Intel card, but couldn't find anything for the Killer 1525. -
WhatsThePoint Notebook Virtuoso
They closed their support website and removed support contact info.
Ever since Qualcomm bought Bigfoot Networks it's been all downhill in regards to customer support.
Wireless cards don't perform the same in each and every model paired with all sorts of routers.
Like the new Intel AC-7265 these AC cards are meant for operation on the 5ghz band.
On the 2.4ghz band you may experience very low link speeds depending on settings, distance, router and many other variables.
For "MY" usage in an MSI gaming notebook paired with a Netgear R7000 router I found the Killer N1525 a bit better for consistency and performance.
In a different notebook with a different router and other variables considered, the results may be different.
I don't recommend notebooks with:
white listed hardware
hardware that only works with the makers drivers.
1 year warranty
Hard to access user upgradable parts -
The laptop I'm going for is a Clevo P771ZM. So far I'm inclinded for the Intel card, since no further support for the other card doesn't sound good at all. If there is anything else I should base my decision on, feel free to let me know. But thanks for your help so far!

Both companies will refer to notebook maker.
Intel has a community forum where you can post issues.
Qualcomm relies on social media.
If you become unhappy with the Intel because of any issues you may have, the Killer is expensive to buy on ebay while the Intel is about half the price.

Looks like there are alot of people for who the bluetooth on this card is not working...or better said : it's working randomly
Also MYSN is no longer equiping their notebooks with this card due to the fact that it's size is not appropriate for the M.2 slot that it's supposed to fill(they only ocupy 2/3 of the M.2 slot ) and as such it's prone to shifting and not making a good connection.
My personal opinion is that the Bluetooth issue is because of this reason.
Regarding the horrible look of the forum:
If you go to the bottom left corner of the page and click on "xenFoogle" you can choose a new style.
Personally I found that vB 3.x - Fluid looks the best and the most like the previous version of NBR -
WhatsThePoint Notebook Virtuoso
The N1525 fits OK and is held in place by a screw that doesn't allow the card to move if tightened properly.Mine doesn't budge.
I've not seen one complaint about an N1525 moving in the M.2 slot in the entire MSI forum where the N1525 is the stock wireless card.
Maybe the company you mention can't get any?
My Logitech BT mouse M557 pair well as do my Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 smartphones.
Only BT driver v3.0.0.419 was a bust for me on an MSI GS60 notebook.
As for the new forum look.I tried them all and all are like going back in time.
Looks like a move to same money and not give the best user experience.
Naturally your mileage may vary.Last edited: Jan 30, 2015 -
I don't see how the card could move (if fastened properly) either.
The BT issue seems to be quite common though.
As for the forum looks - that's not the end of it, expect new skins (especially a darker one) but that's not top priority at this point as you no doubt realize. -
WhatsThePoint Notebook Virtuoso
The same BT mouse I use works differently in other PCs with both Intel and Killer cards.
BT is not consistent with Intel or Killer in my experience but seems to be doing good in my GS60 with N1525.
Posting in this forum has produced popup messages of error then when redone a double post appears that can be deleted using the delete button and typing in "duplicate post"
Editing a post has had the message box hang when trying to post it and clicking post several times.
My avatar appeared without any action on my part but my signature is gone. -
The bluetooth issue that ALOT of people are experiencing has nothing to do with drivers.
The bluetooth just randomly appears and dissapears from device manager.
When it works...it works flawlessly.
The company that i mention MYSN.eu aka Schenker/XMG Notebooks is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest custom laptop manufacturer in europe(clevo/msi/gigabyte barebones customization)
They have the card in stock but they are no longer offering it due to this issue. Also they have contacted Qualcomm and are waiting for an answer.
I know perfectly well how the card is secured. My point was not about the card moving AFTER being secured, but rather shifting during the instalation process...aka the pins that service the bluetooth might not make contact correctly.
This is the only reason why I can imagine that the bluetooth drvice dissapears completely from device manager -
WhatsThePoint Notebook Virtuoso
If you know how the card sits in the M.2 slot then you also know that it can't go in wrong while having the card's half moon screw cutout line up.There's also the matter of the cutout between the sets of pins that needs to go in to the M.2 slot's place for it.
Just can't happen!
What can happen with Bluetooth and does happen is lost pairing.
I've experienced lost pairing in all PCs I've owned and in my vehicles.
Both Intel and Killer cards are no different in losing pairing in my experience with many cards.
My pairing lose comes mostly when the PC hasn't been used for several days.
The same BT mouse loses pairing occasionally with a Samsung tablet that has neither a Killer or Intel. -
Would you care to read the clevo p65x owner lounge to read about the 5 ppl for whom bluetooth completely dissapears from device manager?
The hardware simply does not show up...it's not a matter of lost pairing.HTWingNut likes this. -
-
... 7 if counting both laptops
That's just what I'll do also...I'll stick to the 1525AC since bluetooth is really not necessary for me but I really need AC wireless since I have Gigabit Internet in my home.
Most people want AC wireless for home media...I actually need it for my Internet -
We're talking about a tenth of a milimiter that can make or break a connection.
That's why the bluetooth works randomly I believe.
It's just a matter of some of the pins not ligning up 100% correctly so they only make partial contact.
It may just be a problem of the M.2 slots that clevo is using though.Last edited: Feb 1, 2015WhatsThePoint likes this. -
WhatsThePoint Notebook Virtuoso
It's very possible that the notebook makers use different suppliers for the M.2 wireless card slot.
I just opened my MSI GS60 and found the following markings on the M.2 slot that the Killer N1525 resides in.
LTK in small letters on right edge of the slot
14077G across the slot widthLast edited: Feb 1, 2015 -
And here's the latest news about the bluetooth glitch in the clevos
Looks like we might get to enjoy our bluetooth after all.
That being said... could someone test the signal strenght for the 1525AC vs the 7265AC at abt 10-15 m through 1-2 walls?Last edited: Feb 1, 2015 -
WhatsThePoint Notebook Virtuoso
I have an Intel AC-7265NGW that I tested last month in my GS60 on a clean Windows 8.1 installation and the connection strength was similar to the N1525 at -37dBm in inSSIDer.
The Intel card fluctuated from a link speed of 520 Mbps to 780 Mbps with a occasional burst to 866.7 Mbps where the Killer N1525 is rock solid at 866.7 Mbps.
The Killer N1525 blows the Intel away in transferring files on the home network.
Hope this helpsAttached Files:

The Killer Performance Suite v1.1.49.1395 contains and installs a generic Qualcomm Atheros driver. In this Suite version it's driver 11.0.0.451.
The driver can be updated for your Killer N1525 using the Qualalcomm Ather driver 11.0.0.471 or you can use only the driver to power your Killer N1525 without the Killer Network Manager(bloatware?)
http://www.station-drivers.com/inde...61x4-Wireless-lan-Drivers-Version-11.0.0.471/
So today I'm operating without the bloat by uninstalling the Suite and installing Qualcomm Atheros driver v11.0.0.471Attached Files:

So I guess that still there aren't any changes in signal strenght/stability/transfer rates with the new driver right?

New Killer Suite & BT Drivers dated 10 Feb 15.

Does anyone know what the x & y axes are on the WiFi manager of K Suite?

Hi
Can anyone help me with a problem I'm having with a newly installed Killer N1525 card.
I have installed the card and the WiFi side is working fine using the Killer Suite drivers updated 10 Feb.
Its the Bluetooth side I'm having problems with. Each time I run the BT installation program some part into the installation I get a BSOD saying:
"A problem has been detected.....
btath_fly.sys
DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELLING_PENDING_OPERATIONS
(and so forth)"
when I look in the Device manager I see:
If I left click on the either of the "Other devices" and then "Update Driver Software" and point at the folder with the drivers it says it cannot find the drivers.
Running Win 7 64 bit on a Dell laptop.
Has anyone else had such a problem?
Can anyone tell me what these 2 devices are (I assume that when they're installed correctly they appear in the "Bluetooth Radios" area).
Any info or help appreciated.
Update: I have resolved the BSOD problem. The Killer replaced an Intel AC7265 card, I'd uninstalled the Intel Wireless app but not the Intel BT app, having now removed the Intel BT app the Killer BT installation process runs fine. Unfortunately I still have the 2 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device' instances shown in 'Other Devices'.Last edited: Feb 11, 2015 -

Try using the KillerCleaner Tool linked below to remove all the Killer drivers and software that's installed now then reinstall the Killer 1.1.50.1414 Suite and the Killer "Windows 7" N1525 Bluetooth driver.
Make sure the previous wireless card and ALL drivers for it are uninstalled also.
I'm on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Preview and all installed without issue

Ran Killer Cleaner but the N1525 WiFi and BT apps were still there. Uninstalled the Killer Suite & Qualcom Atheros BT programs. Ran Killer Cleaner again, rebooted and ran the Killer BT and the WiFi installation programs (rebooting between installs) but I'm back to square one with two 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device' instances shown in 'Other Devices'.
I assume that these two items show up in Bluetooth Radio area in your device manager (if W8 has such a thing), could you please tell me what they're called, it might give me a clue.
It's getting late now (in the UK) I'll be back at it in the morning.
Thanks again for your help. -
Latest update:
Having tried several other things I've still had no joy. The Hardware IDs for the two devices are:
BTHENUM\{f75a6878-698c-4f1d-806c-df5153794059}_LOCALMFG&0000
BTHENUM\{237c20bd-9a3b-414e-ba6e-fbb375d4f542}_LOCALMFG&0000
When I search for these IDs the only information I can find is a thread here where someone with a Sony laptop had a similar problem with Win 7 that went away when he used Wiin 8.1. It was assumed to be 'just one of those things' with Win 7.
The WiFi side works fine, definitely better than the AC7265, and the BT side allows my mouse to connect and work reliably so I'll probably have to assume that everything is OK and learn to put up with the Unknown devices in Device manager (and await Win 10).
If anyone could come up with any further info I'd still be interested. I'm also still interested in how these devices show up in Windows 8/10 device manager.
If I come up with anything else I'll post back. -

Try a good uninstaller program like the trial version of Total Uninstall
http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/total_uninstall.html
If this also doesn't work you may have other issues with your system and need to do a clean OS install from scratch.
You can also check the notebook's file system by running sfc /scannow from administator command prompt
Check if there's new firmware for your notebook.Last edited: Feb 12, 2015 -
I checked for and updated to the latest BIOS yesterday. I'm working from a fresh factory image for the laptop that comes with most of the drivers already installed. Have removed the Intel WiFi, BT & WiDi applications (all associated with the old AC7265 card) which seems to remove the drivers as well. I've installed and run Total Uninstall and had a good root around but cannot see any remnants of the Intel apps. I've removed and reinstalled the N1525 BT app & drivers several times with no change.
Could you or someone please open their Device manager, set to View devices by connection, and tell me what devices are shown where I have the two devices marked with exclamation marks in the grab below?
This information might give me a lead on sorting out the problem. I'm wondering if there's some feature that's supported in Win 8/10 that's not in Win 7.
Thanks again for your help. -
I'm now pretty certain that the device with ID "BTHENUM\{f75a6878-698c-4f1d-806c-df5153794059}_LOCALMFG&0000" is the A2DP device. I've found mention of the ID in the btath_a2dp .inf file but it's been commented out with a semicolon. I've tried editing the file to remove the 'commenting out' and reinstalling but the system complains about incorrect configuration and suchlike. If I Google "A2DP & Win 7" I find many hits about problems on Win 7 so I'm assuming that's why it's been prevented from installing.
I've downloaded and looked at the Win 8.1 drivers but there only seems to be one .inf file with very little in it.
I certainly don't need A2DP and I'm going to assume that I don't need whatever feature the other device provides. I'll likely only be using BT for a mouse anyway and that seems to work fine with the Killer, certainly better than with the AC7265. -

I'm now happy with things as I currently have them. Having messed about and changed all sorts of things, I'll start again with a clean install in the morning and set it up using the things I've learned over the last couple of days. I'll just live with the two devices that don't install correctly as I only need a Bluetooth mouse which seems to work fine.
Thanks again for your help. -

A clean install should be from a USB flash drive or DVD created from an untouched ISO from Microsoft.
Using a Dell image file installs old drivers and Dell bloatware.
