Getting a P650SG. This or AC 7265 for $30 less? Will be paired with an Archer C8 AC1750 router.

Alot of people are complaining about signal drops and ping spikes on 7265 so I would suggest the 1525AC.

I just made the same choice a week ago when I ordered a p650se :)

Isn't 7265 better than 7260? Or is it identical, just M.2 instead of mPCIe. I haven't had any issues on my two AC 7260 cards (one pre-revision, one post) after tweaking it properly. Well except for BT disappearing every time after resuming from sleep/hibernate, but that's a BIOS/EC gleature on the Y500 not the fault of any wireless card. But why not, I'll bite on the Killer. No problem with trying new things.

Well i haven't owned the 7260 or 7265 but some of my friends do...some of them have problems and some of them don't and that's on the same router and same drivers...

I travel alot and connect to all kinds of shady routers and can't afford hickups...so I just went with 1525 wich acording to people here is rock-stable 100% of the time.

On the p650SE I needed to update to EC XXXX.306 otherwise the bluetooth wasn't working due to some changes in the pin designations by Qualcomm strait from the assembly line.

I don't know if they released the EC update for the SG version yet though...

P.S. 7265-7260 same card with minor tweaks... 7265 available only in M.2 ...7260 available in both.

My retailer told me there's a chance I'll get the m.2 7260 even if he ordered the 7265 from clevo on my laptop so didn't want to risk it.

That isn't the killer card. It uses the same chipset though. The difference is the killer card has a slightly different firmware that allows the killer-specific software to be installed.

Hi, I have the V7-591G and I tried to install the Killer N1525 wireless card to replace the Atheros card and the Crucial M500.

I clean installed W8.1 on the SSD and the first thing I do is to install the latest Killer Suite.
After installing the driver, my wifi toggle seems to be greyed out and "OFF".

    The step I always do:
    1. Reinstall windows
    2. After windows is installed, I install the Killer Suite.

    I tried to:
    1. Install the earlier version of Killer Suite and the pure driver
    2. Go to BIOS and F9(load default)
    3. Reinstall windows
    4. Press Fn+F3 (Wifi button on keyboard)
    5. Restart the PC several times

Device manager shows the Killer N1525 is working properly.

All the methods above also do not solve the problem.
Is there anything that I did wrongly?

I reinstalled the Atheros wireless card back and installed the driver and it works but a very low signal level.

Which Atheros wireless card is in the V7--591G?

Does the V7--591G have an M.2 slot or mini pcie slot for wireless adapters?

    Your reinstall of Windows?

Was it a fresh clean install from an installation USB flash drive/DVD created from a Microsoft ISO file or was it from a backup or restore image.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

    Make USB/DVD media:
    Microsoft USB/DVD Tool
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool

If it wasn't from a Microsoft ISO file you may just reinstalling the problem causes.

Install Windows while the Killer N1525 in in the notebook and use Killer Performance Suite 1.1.50.1414 and Bluetooth 3.0.0.493
    http://www.killernetworking.com/support/driver-downloads

After the drivers and Network Manager are installed you can stop the Network Manager by disabling it's startup.
Disable in Windows 8.1 Task Manager

It's fresh clean install from the USB. The installation media is created by using Microsoft media creation tool..

After testing several methods to fix the wifi, it appears that everytime after i sleep and wake my computer, the wifi will be working perfectly. But, after I shut down or restart my PC, the wifi toggle will become OFF and greyed out again. Any idea on whta's the problem?

Does your notebook have an airplane mode switch? Mine requires a driver for the switch to work, so maybe you just need to install that so the notebook can tell whether the switch is in the on or off position?

Are the other keyboard shortcuts working as expected (i.e. Fn + whatever to turn on and off bluetooth, or keyboard backlighting, etc.)? If none of them are, there may be a driver or OEM utility that enables these - I've seen that once before on my last notebook - no way to turn on bluetooth until the utility was installed.

    Just a thought.

    Hi All,

I've also brought a Killer 1525 wireless AC card for my laptop and installed it. It's gone into a Lenovo Flex 2-14 (with bios whitelist disabled)! I have a D-Link DIR 868L router, with only a thin piece of wood between the laptop and the router.

Sometimes it connects to my 5GHz network and works very well indeed, however most of the time when I try to connect the the 5GHz it shows a full signal strength but when I connect it fails to connect and afterwards I no longer see any 5GHz networks.

The 2.4GHz wireless N connection works fine every time and whilst OK, it's 5GHz wireless AC I brought this for ;)

My O/S is Windows 8.1, with a fresh install using a Microsoft ISO and I'm using the latest drivers from 10th February (Killer Suite) at http://www.killernetworking.com/.

Has anyone else seen similar issues? Could it be driver settings?

I have no experience with your router or Lenovo.

I think there may be some problems with your router settings.

Try different 5ghz band channels.I use 161 but 153 works well also.

    Use only WPA2 AES

If you have QoS settings check that WMM is enabled on both bands.

Wireless card Power Management uncheck the box "turn off to save power"

    Set Roaming Aggressiveness to lowest.

In Windows Task Manager disable the Network Manager starting on boot up.

    Recheck your notebooks bios settings.

Newest router firmware and notebook bios?

At first when setting up a Killer wireless card it may be worth tweaking the setup features with the added Killer software but after you get the QoS priority order and Network Speeds set it might be a good idea to stop them from running in Windows Task Manager because they are high resource hogs.

Only the driver is needed to get a Killer wireless card or E2200 Lan up and running.

A separate driver is needed to get the Killer 1202 and N1525 Bluetooth running.

Yeah I guess the Killer software features can be useful for some people. Personally I don't need them so I only installed the wireless and Bluetooth drivers for my 1525AC. Same goes for Intel cards; no software suite, just drivers. Less system bloat too.

The Killer Performance Suite does not contain the Bluetooth driver;it must be downloaded separately.

    Windows 8.1

    Windows 7

BTW,Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10074 contains a fix for the N1525 Bluetooth issue

The Killer Networking site states the Killer Performance Suite 1.1.52.1451 is updated on Wednesday 13 May 2015

The version number is the same as the one released on May 7,2015

There's no list of changes or bug fixes for this release.

Version 1.1.52.1451 Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, Updated On Wednesday, 13 May 2015
    http://www.killernetworking.com/support/driver-downloads

    EDIT:got this from Killer Networking

Thank you for your email. I apologize for the confusion, but we just decided to simplify the release and put up the .exe file instead of the .zip file. We had some users who got confused on what to do with a .zip file.

Hi, I have a new p670sg with the killer 1525 ac, I had to make q new clean windows install on the ssd then when I installed the suite it didn't install correctly, it didn't allow me to set priorities or track performance, but downloads peaked @ 1.6mb per second then I uninstalled and re installed the suite successfully this time, everything works but now download speeds are capped @ 1.2mb, any setting I'm missing to achieve the 1.6mb speeds again?

After too much hours spent trying to get my Intel 7260 working correctly in my Asus UX303 laptop, I'd like to replace it by a Killer N1525.

The only thing is I can't seem to get my hands on one. I live in France, and no one seems to be shipping this card to France/Europe at a decent price.

Any ideas where I can find it ?
    Thanks,

I've contacted Killer support about any real difference between the Killer N1525 and the new N1535 besides the obvious Bluetooth 4.1 on the new N1535.
I also inquired about availability as upgrade part.

This wireless card is the best I've used to date. Performance is off the charts. However, sometimes there are random drops upon restart, but I think that's mainly related to the driver.

The problem I have with my N1525 is lose of pairing of my Bluetooth M557 Logitech mouse.

The mouse has little issue staying paired with an Intel AC-7260/7265 and no issues with a Samsung Note Pro Android tablet.

Patiently waiting for N1525 Bluetooth driver for Windows 10 Insider Preview that work.

Thanks for the heads-up WhatsThePoint. I've never found a true need for the Killer Network Manager suite features, so I uninstall it. I also found my speed test runs seem to give me higher download/upload speeds with it uninstalled vs. with the suite installed+bandwidth control on/off. Of course I know that Killer recommends running speed tests without the bandwidth control enabled but that's why I tested with it disabled, and still saw lower average speeds. I had no issues in game or general use, just speed tests seemed to show lower speeds. Maybe I configured it wrong? Maybe it just doesn't play nice with speed tests even when disabled, but works fine otherwise? Or maybe it's just my system, but just thought I'd share my experiences. I have no need for it anyhow.

On a related note, the only way it seems I can install the most recent wireless drivers (without the KNM software) is to: install the suite first, copy out the "1525" folder from the Killer Networking folder location, uninstall the suite and then manually install the driver via Device manager. I don't mind the process but is that indeed the easiest way? Guess that may be the caveat to the bundling it into the .exe file format. The "Standard Drivers" link on their website seems to be less up to date and also never installed fully.

The Performance Suite is now an exe file. They no longer release the zip file.

After I install the Suite and set everything up I open the Windows Task Manager and stop the 2 Killer processes from running under the Performance header.

The under Startup I stop the Network Manager.

All works well without the bloat.

I suppose that's an easier, equally-effective way. However I don't think I like the thing on my system at all, killed or not ;). So I guess I'll stick to the longer process I outlined. Thanks for the alternative option.

For anyone who only looks at the Killer Performance Suite for the 1525 drivers, the 1525 drivers from the June 25 Update are the same as the ones from the immediately prior June 16 Update. Both are 11.0.0.558.

    Hi guys,
I getting problems with 5ghz connection with 1525 AC card to Asus RT AC56U router. After reboot 5Ghz Wi-Fi can be detected but can'be connected. Then after 1 or 2 attempts 5Ghz just disappears and that's it. Can anybody help? I've already tried to change the drivers from official killernetworking and MSI download page. Noting worked. same story every time. 2.4Ghz is working just fine. All my other 5Ghz capable devices are connecting to 5ghz band with no problem.
