10% cash back from ebay...

It's %14 right now and getting up day after another. I'm happy with that and I think it's kinda good to increase it gradually that way since any jump will let the sellers on eBay kick the price up too.

 

I'm starting to think this cash back program is a load of crap. I bought two things (easily a month ago and I'm STILL waiting to receive just an indication that I have cash back). I should receive about $25 back but I don't know why. In fact I have a friend who bought a laptop with "Buy It Now" following all the said steps and he was supposed to get $200 back and it didn't work for him. Does anyone know why this is??? I think there are some hidden rules that everybody should be warned about.

i did receive $200+ cashback via paypal after 2 months of purchase of a sony hd camcorder and a pair of kenneth cole shoes.
i think this is the rule, must be at least 2 months afer purchase to receive cashback.

Did it buy it from a US seller? Also it should tell you whether u would get the cash back or not when you pay. I've gotten two cash backs already.

 

I had a bunch of payments "fail" when I checked its status online. One for $17 and the other for $200. I had to write paypal and microsoft a bunch of times to complain up a storm but after 4 months I did eventually get my money.

Tempted 14% is pretty good can get a Sigma 18-200mm OS for like $350 and then take $50 off...

 

Well I just got it, last time it was like 20% I regretted not getting something when I should have and I kinda need a lens. I hope it can get here before the weekend, this is the last weekend for the Renaissance festival.

I just found a killer deal on the better 18-200mm VR Nikkor $525 on craigslist and its a better lens and it has better resale value but the pocket book cant handle it, so I am quite happy getting a Sigma version of it thats just slightly worse for a net of about $300.

Now I have my "Disney Land" lens, the one lens you can put on and use all day without having to change. Though I'll keep my 50mm 1.4 Nikkor in a bag for low light conditions.

i have gotten 3 cashbacks from them, for a GPS, a Palm Centro, and something else. this was like months ago when it was 30% off.
I just bought something today with the 14% off.

how did u carry out the order?

you should see logo indicators for cashback every single step of the way.
*on ebay's search page, you should see a gold coin icon at the end of every listing.
*on the auction page itself, you should see a green microsoft (windows logo) on the top of the page saying, this product qualifies for 14% cashback
*when you hit buy it now, it should clearly say that it qualifies
*on the commit to buy page, it should clearly give you the exact amount you will get back

you should have gotten an email within the first minute of purchase if you did it right

i got all my money back exactly 60 days, i just had to log on and push a button and the funds were sent to my paypal directly.

Actually, I went ahead and purchased my netbook via the cashback method...and eventually I did get my 30%...which was very nice. But a month later when I wanted to do this again, for another product, there was no such great deal...in fact, the range was more like 2-7% back. Since then, I've tried the cashback service several times, and could never get the gold coin to show up when I logged onto eBay. But I've also been informed that those larger cashback sums have been stopped anywayz.

In fact, I have not seen anything like 14% or even close to it...for any product.

 

Sorry to say, Micro$oft doesn't offer those great deals any more. In fact, I was lucky to take advantage of that 30% cashback for my netook, since they stopped giving such good reductions shortly afterwards. Now, it's more like 2-7% cashback...but be very careful to make sure that gold coin shows up on your eBay pages. I tried the cashback approach several times since my great purchase, but couldn't get the eBay pages to show that gold coin...even at the much lower cashback percentages. More of a waste of time now, than anything. Caveat emptor!

 

Question I just bought something on ebay with cashback I got the money back right away. I was going to purchase something and it said.
"Sorry, you've exceeded the maximum cashback awards per account"
I am not close to $2,500 so might it get fix anyone had this problem?

gpister, you can only do a maximum of 12 cashback charges per account, regardless if you hit $2,500.

 

To be honest, I gave up on M$ cashback, once they dropped the 30-40% dealie to under 10%. There's something scurillous about a service where the gold coin refuses to show up no matter how often you try, and when you know you're doing everything right.

You say they are now resuming the better deals, and the gold coin shows up? Well, okay I'll take a look-see; I haven't tried it out in over a month, I got so PO'd.

I really don't understand their flaky behavior, it's false advertising. Plus: the instructions are rather convoluted, making it easy to slip up and wind up paying full price w/o any cashback.

It's like playing tic-tac-toe with the devil! Then again, we ARE talking about Micro$oft. But if you can somehow squeeze a good deal out of 'em these days, more power to you!

Just wanted to add I just got an "invitation" to a program called ebay bucks today. Its a 2% cash back when you buy something with paypal on ebay.

Anybody else have this? Now the question is does it stack with the live.com cashback.

 

bleh from what i've heard it went down to 13%. my guess is they are trying to make people make impulse buys and scare people that it will continue to go down.

 

lol i got an email on one of my ebay accounts i rarely use (this is on purpose so i can start getting random 10-15% coupons from paypal) and my guess it would stack. I don't see why it wouldn't stack.

I got a lens on ebay for like $360 and I got the cashback already like a few days later, in the past I had to wait like 60 days or something.

 

Are you sure it was a few days? I only know of it being instant, or after 60 days.

That is how we receive our mail here in this itty-biity town-Post Office. We have 911 address..Iv'e tried that but NOOO.

Yes, it's limited to the US. The cashback will directly go into the PayPal account the purchase was made with and that has to have a US address I believe.

 

For some reason I'm not seeing any cashback offers from ebay. No matter what I type (usually "cheap wii" or "cheap PS3") nothing shows up..... I hope I didn't use up all my quota.

Yep, to get it running on FF, you need something, which I can't remember right now. IE works perfectly though.

Its very likely adblock. I use adblock and I can't get it on my firefox. However at work my firefox doesn't have adblock and I can get the cashback.
