This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Personally, I prefer BatteryCare but BatteryBar is definitely still a good program, especially at any cost.

    The one thing I like most about BatteryBar is the big icon it puts on your taskbar. I normally don't like stuff cluttering up my desktop or taskbar, but in this case, it's a quick visual indicator of charging or battery life left status.

    To go with that, you have the option to hide the bar when you're plugged in. I really like that feature.

    Exactly. If I didn't use Thinkpads with their Power Manager software, I'd definitely be using Battery Bar... I did on my old Averatec when I still used Windows on it :)
