    They used to send out individual, one-time use coupons which would be somewhat better. It just seems like a pain to have to call and search through a person to find a system with a discount.

    Ebay users create scripts with predefined criteria's and while they're asleep or at work, the script purchases cheap Alienware laptops for them automatically if I understand correctly. They then horde them all for themselves and then list them on ebay for a few hundred dollars more.

    I'm glad Dell is making people call in now. When I shopped at the outlet, there's nothing more frustrating then getting ready to purchase a good deal that you've finally found and then bots scooping them all up and only leaving you the overpriced/bad spec ones (aka the scraps).

    It may seem like a pain, but if spending 10 minutes on the phone gets you the laptop you've been searching for, why not? :)

    It's even worse than that Voodooi. It would be one thing if they just purchased the systems, but the bots will hold the systems in limbo indefinitely until the bot owners are ready to buy. Every once in awhile, if you're quick enouugh, you can catch them between a refresh cycle and suddenly BOOM you see 5-10-15 or more systems suddenly appear and the next minute BOOM all gone. Keep refreshing and they will eventually appear again.

    Calling in is definitely a way to hinder the bots.

    Maybe Dell needs to return to individualized coupon codes and verify email addresses, but then people used to sell their codes on eBay too.

    awesome i called and they had no discounts on monitors but they gave me 25 bucks off of the U2412M :) so that covered sales tax and a little more :) I think I got it for like $323. 50 bucks more than what I paid off of 1saleaday for my other one but I am not going to complain.

    Edit i probably could have haggled and got it a little cheaper but it wasn't worth it.

    I call and the guy applied the discount maybe was 15% who knows he just give me that total and I was happy :)

    I have never understood Dell's pricing for previous generation laptops in their outlet. The M6600 is priced nearly the same as M6500 AFTER the coupon.

    For example (sorted by low price and took 1st option available):

    There is little reason in pricing at the outlet lol.

    If you are looking for a 6600 with rgbled ips, you gotta keep a REALLY keen eye out.

    I got mine but i had to look for a few days at least 10 times a day. Well worth it. My system doesnt even have the green refurbished sticker as mine was brand new and just a return, yet was $1789 compared to $3100 new :)

    Bummer. You have to ready for these Precision coupons if you want more than 1 or 2 specific upgrades.

    Regarding the Quadro 1000M, do you need CUDA? Because the Firepro is way stronger despite being the entry level option.
