Even at $859, where else could you find a notebook with a 128GB SSD...and a 3-year warranty!? If it had the WXGA+ LED, I would've bought one before sharing with the rest of the class!
-
I was eying one with a 64GB SSD for $940 dollars back around Christimas when I had a 20% off coupon. That seemed like a steal then, but this makes it look terrible! (Although it had a the nVidea, LED WXGA+ and 9 cell.) *Sigh* It's just not quite what I'm looking for. Maybe this is a good sign though. Anyone know whether the mobility SSD is SLC or MLC BTW? And either way is it a decent SSD? And what about the 64GB SSD's, they don't even state if they're the mobility or performance? +Rep for the find.
-
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
It's going to be an MLC SSD. AFAIK, Dell is only using Samsung solid state drives at the moment, and there are no Samsung 128GB SLC drives. The 128GB MLC will be a solid performer, nonetheless, especially if it's one of the newer ones.
-
Thanks.
Now what I wouldn't give for a coupon right now! LOL -
that is a pretty sweet deal with a 128 ssd. someone jump on it!

I'll just keep waiting for the prices of SSDs to drop within reason (I'm cheap) and upgrade my E6400 then! Until then, my power-sucking Seagate 7200.3 (320GB) will have to suffice...
-
Oh wow, what a steal! If I had money to throw around for a second laptop, I would be very very tempted. I would +rep, but apparently I have to spread around some reputation
-
Very Tempting
Seems a lot of the E6400 are under $600. Maybe a coupon coming soon

Looks good LED, SSD, and 3 year warranty....sweet
-
Dang good prices...
-
It sounds like they might not really be LED screens... see this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=366742
Then again, it sounds like a decent deal anyway. -

...hmmm Well that SSD alone must be worth like $300 but it strip it out and then sell it

A laptop "Chop-Shop"....the parts are always worth more than the whole! -

Haha, yep thats right

Wow very good deal. I haven't heard much about the Latitude line. How are they in terms of quality?

There's a link below to my E6400 review and, over 6 months plus plenty of travel later, it still seems to have a very solid build quality. There's some play in the hinges which wasn't there when new, but that's about all.

I've had mine for almost three months and couldn't be happier. The build quality is excellent (mainly magnesium alloy), it has a fantastic LED backlit display and the keyboard is as good as the benchmark ThinkPad keyboards!
My only very minor complaint, and this is a nit-picking, is the location of the heat exhaust vent in the middle of the left side of the notebook. It may not be a problem for most users, but for a certain feline it's a warm-air-blowing, butt-warming magnet! Then there's also a fur in the keyboard issue....but that's probably specific to MY E6400!
-
LOL fur in the keyboard, that made me laugh out loud. I just realized this deal is for a pre owned notebook...not a fan of those.
-

Nope, not Pre-Owned...it's Previously Ordered New- which means it was built but never delivered to a customer for various reason(s). This is also a way that Dell uses to move excess inventory, they build them and sell them thru the Outlet. They have the same 3-year warranty and a regular NEW one. -
Actually these Previously Order New. I don't think they were ever shipped.
-
Oh sweet, thanks guys.
