I have registered, how come i cannot find O&O Defrag 10 Professional Edition to download only O&O Defrag 12 Professional Edition, in the download section of the website.
EDIT : Version 10 can be download from the link below, 32 or 64 bit version.

Thanks. -
Is the version 10 useful at all?
It's released in 2007. -
So called free and then they link you to v12. Also as the OP pointed out is this any good? Old stuff.
-
I personally think the built in defrag program in Windows 7 does a solid job. No need for O&O IMO.
-
I registered and they kept on sending me useless e-mails. I had to unsubscribe from their mailing list.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Yeah, I got the spam too, freakin annoying.
Honestly, you don't ever need a third party defragger anyway. -

That's why you use junk, secondary e-mail accounts when signing up for on-line offers. -
Exactly!!
...That's why an app' like
mailinator.com comes in handy!
And, O&O Defrag is a nice defragger if you choose to use it.
Personal preference, always.

Wow this is an awesome deal. After playing around with the thing for a while I definitely prefer this over the windows default defragger...
Good Find! -
how does it compare to perfect disk?
-
wearetheborg Notebook Virtuoso
Why do you prefer it ? -
The guy has 6 posts to his credit including the endorsement without facts. Probably just on the company's spam team. The fact that they ask for email then provide a link only to v12 and someone had to dig out the actual v10 link and post here is enough to kick this offer to the curb. To jack the company should just take a junk mail addy you might get and register for the free offer and let them deal with a dose of their own BS.

Well, the biggest reason is that I've been looking for one that works on win 7 64-bit. I used to use diskeeper and loved it on windows vista and 7 32-bit, but when I upgraded to the 64-bit edition diskeeper and perfectdisk stopped working (for whatever reason). O&O is the first one that I've actually managed to get working on 64-bit, which is a big plus for me.
I actually like how the thing has a screensaver mode, coupled with the avast screensaver, means that instead of waking my computer up at 3:00 in the morning (and consequently me), I can just run the defrag when the computer is idle.
Truth be told though, If I ever got diskeeper working again on win 7 64-bit I may switch back to that, because truthfully I liked that a little bit better than O&O (personal preference I think). -
I beg to differ. Have you tried Perfect Disk 10? If O&O is 1/2 way as good as PD10 versus W7 native, I would use it since its free. Can someone compare and contrast for us PD10 and O2?
-
Add some screen shots too and write someting up for us who are evaluating thanks.

I couldn't find any noticeable difference between using Vista's or W7's defrag utility compared to other 3rd party defraggmenters. Testing by MaxiumumPC also confirms this:

I rearely endorse products but have used the trial of PD and can say that it works far better than the native W7 utility. But I also dont want to pay for it so dont go so far as to purchase it. lol.
-
How exactly are you comparing PD and W7?
-
try puran defrag. as good as pd and tiny and super fast and i think o&o 12 would be my second pick minus all the bloat
-
I run Windows 7 built in defrag via the command prompt defrag c: -w -v. Net result is zero percent defrag. It's been tried on several computers with the same results. Besides I have a copy of O&O 10 Pro and I found there was no disk or system performance difference vs what came with Windows 7 or Windows Vista.
Most if not all of these on the market defrag programs are nothing more than marketing and a bit of snake oil.
The bottom line for me is Windows 7 defrag does a solid job without the bloat of an additional program and resources it may use. Besides Windows Vista and 7 have built in dynamic defrag which automatically starts if a system is left in idle for an extended period of time. -
you do what you want. i have little time to dialogue with people who defend every aspect of W7 down to the point where the ship sinks. short of you being deemed a fanboy i have nohtiing else to say. why dont you download the PD10 trial and compare and contrast as i delegated you to many posts ago. thanks.
