zfactor asked
"do you have a xtreme series cpu??"
I have a
Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo T7700, 2383 MHz (12 x 199) Merom (thinking about upgrading to a 9300)
-
than stay with 667. you will have no benefit unless you have settings to overclock the cpu..you dont have a extreme one so dont worry about it

edit raised the price to 43$ now -
To late for me, oh well, at least I'm getting a nice 4 gigs o' RAM!
-
yeah i picked up 4gb this morning fry's had the 2gb single sticks for 11$ after rebate. i went on to get another 4gb and that deal was gone and this one was up there instead.. not as good but still killer for 4gb ram..
-
how long does it usually take for rebate to process? and are those compatible w/ m1710's? thanks.
-
ocz is usually pretty good about them. probe about 2 months to get the check. they should work as long you have ddr2 ram
-
I tried searching through Fry's website, but couldn't find any 4GB PC5300 for that price.
Wait... are we talking about a different item here? -
The link worked for me yesterday but not today. It was for 2x 2GB sticks.
-
Anybody got any deals on 4GB x2 sticks? If you do please post here!
-
yeah they pulled it last night lucky i grabbed 2 sets
-
Does nobody here use tigerdirect? 4GB 2DIMMS $65 after rebate, $85 before:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3175958&CatId=2268
Also, same deal exists at CompUSA because Tiger recently acquired them. -
Are any of these fine to upgrade my laptop to 4GB? I thought they would be twice as much.

Thank you -
Not bad. Although I did get mine for 30$ (OCZ) from Fry's .
-
If it was for 2x2GB, could you provide a link please.... I can't seem to find anything for that price.
Thanks. -
-
can anyone estimate when 2 gig sticks will be worth $25 (w/o) rebates?
-
It was on Fry's , but the deal ended a long time ago.
Zfactor posted it and got it the moment I saw it. -
yep now that was a killer deal i grabbed 8gb that time around
-
Anyone has a deal on 1gb stick pc2700 ?
-
-
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227247
Great deal for OCZ memory.. 2 sticks of 2gig each for a total of 4gigs for 79.99 ... oh yeah with rebate its only 51.99 for 4gigs...whoah. -
I read that the rebate is ridiculously timed, like 12 days since you place your order. Which would of course include processing from the retailer, getting it, and then shipping the necessary stuff to OCZ directly - anyone know?
Is OCZ on par with Corsair and Kingston? -
Actually, some notebook retailer like KillerNotebooks.com would claim that OCZ is the best. They also mention their bad experience with one of the major brands, I forgot which one. It is mentioned on their website.

ocz is fine. rebates are meant to be a pain. you just do it and you will be fine. i got my rebate from ocz, no problems. it was a different promotion (basically the same one) from them, from about a 6 or 7 weeks ago. i got my check a few weeks after i sent in my stuff.

I'm surprised no one's been talking about HyperX memory. I asked tech support about it:
-------------
(me) "what is HyperX memory?"
(me) "it's twice as epensive as the regular RAM.."
(me) "and do you think it's worth the money?"
(Dell)"Let me check on that."
(Dell) "Thank you for staying connected."
(Dell) "The HyperX memory offers faster speeds, higher data bandwidths and lower power consumption than regular RAM."
(Dell) "That is the reason they are expensive."
--------------
This is what spurred the question: here. Lower power consumption and faster speed, it just seems like a no brainer. -
HyperX is just faster. The CS lied about power savings.
-
Would it be noticeable? There doesn't seem to be any kind of testing on HyperX memory..
-
Gophn, you need to update this thread
-
Any hot deals for DDR3? They are kind of expensive right now
-
Yeah, Dell just is trying to make a sale. -

For those with Santa Rosa notebooks (or older), I found this DDR2 deal at Frys.com
http://shop2.frys.com/product/5503990
$79.99 - $40 MIR → $39.99 + shipping -
Those who want to upgrade their dv5zs or just want to upgrade in general. Newegg has an amazing offer. I just bought mine yesterday. Still haven't shipped though : /
Anyway here's the link:

That is a great deal. -

-
The Frys deal on the 4GB DDR2 PC5300 SO-DIMM KIT is actually $35 now, with free shipping.
$69.99 - $35 rebate = $34.99
http://www.frys.com/product/5503990 -
Anyone know any 8GB kits (2x4GB) kits for cheap? I know G.Skill sells 4GB sticks for $170 a pop but I was wondering if anyone saw any @ DD2-800?
-
I can only deal with Instant Rebates. Mail Ins always seem to get lost in the wind.
But yes, I dislike how Computer Manufacturers upsell lower quality RAM at 500% Markup and then suggest it's teh only thing compatible.
Like good on 'InternetBound' for slamming these into his Mac. Most Mac owners are ditto heads and willing to pay hundreds more for that warm cozy feeling. -
Is there any place that sells 8gb (2 x 4gb modules) of DDR3 ram right now for a decent price?
-
Any good prices out there for 1x stick of 2GB DDR3-1066?
