It's possible you're too late. They normally expire earlier than this...

the page says Please review the coupon offer for purchase requirements.

doesnt say the invalid or expired note so not sure. but hp support say the coupon is fake cause there is a rebate offered.

    strange

i tried with multiple accessories, prices, etc. called multiple times too haha. no clue and they dont either lol. They say the instant rebates make the 30% coupons not work. I ask when the instant rebates arent working and they had no idea.

UPDATE: After being on the phone with HP for 2 hours and asking to speak to managers, I found out why the coupon didn't work. HP are morons. They left out what accessories work with the coupon. Not all do. The cheapest one that WORKS is the microfibre cloth under special accessories or something like it.

    Thanks for this.

    "Truth in advertising" ...LOL

Doesn't anyone find it odd that these coupons are not mentioned anywhere on HP's sight? There are no terms and conditions? They honor them at will, more often then not they do not honor them. Or the places conditions upon there use that are so complex that buyers are forced to call into the call centers where you are barraged with alternative offers that cost more in the long run?

This is called bait and switch. I don't think that HP are morons at all, I think they intend this confusion and frustration. It is amazing to me that HP gets away with it. Sooner or later, someone is going to come down on them.

I just contacted "7 on your side" in the Bay Area about all this stuff. 7 On Your Side primarily deals with consumer problems, usually, but not limited to, the purchase of goods and services by individuals. By running a story on the problem and forcing the company to speak to the issue, they often get companies to resolve these sorts of business practices.

Curious to see if they will pick this up.

I think I spoke to maybe 8 people before getting someone to know how to honor the coupon. Even managers said the coupon is released and shouldn't and isnt working because of the instant rebates. Its a shame that HP doesn't notify its workers about these things. I mean being on the phone for over 2 hours to get them to honor their own coupon... unbelievable.

I spoke with "Executive Customer Service" who apologized for something I didn't complain about, completely ignored what I had complained about and then offered me 10% off, only if I purchased said laptop right away. This was last Thursday.

Do you have any idea how pissed off I would have been if I had accepted the "managers special 10%" and then saw the 30% off the following Monday?

Its alright though, bad business has a way of catching up to companies, particularly in this environment. Forums like this help as well. Word spreads fast.

I ordered a HDX 18t on the 10th of January - 2 days later found out they were offering the 30% special. I had a hard time getting them to cancel a PC already on the production line, but no trouble ordering again with the 30% discount.
I get my discounts from http://www.techbargains.com/ and they always seem to work great!

It took me about 10 minutes to get my $500 off coupon (which had run out of uses online) on the phone with HP, and about another 10 to finish the order. The workers are typically unaware of these coupons and they aren't advertised by HP themselves. By simply giving the code to someone having higher authority and wanting to buy over the phone sped up matters.
