I didn't see these posted yet, so here they are. I came across two coupon codes for HP laptops purchased at their site. There are quantity restrictions on them as well as lots of model restrictions. I don't know how many are left to redeem.

It won't work on the dv6t, hence why I tried it on the dv6t Quad Edition which will work. The normal dv6t is excluded in the coupon terms.

 

It does work with the dv6t SELECT edition.

I just ordered a DV6T with an I5 for $875 w/ tax last week. The this comes now? -____-

 

Call them and see if they'll match. I ordered a DV6t for my dad in silver, with i3, 6GB, 640GB HDD, 1080p screen for $800. I can get an i5, 750GB HDD, 8GB RAM, 1080p screen for $750. I am going to see if they can refund me $150 or I'll just return the existing unit and order new.

edit: well I just ordered the i5 for $750 and returning my i3 one. $50 cheaper with $125 worth of extra content. My dad will be happy.

 

Are the new envy's not out yet? I didn't see the Envy 15 on the list...

Call, yes, they usually will do it. Just configure it, provide them with the code and tell them what you can configure it at.

 

I just had a talk with them. They say that there's nothing they can do about it once the order has been made. The only way I think is to return then order again. The laptop will be here by Wednesday. I guess I just have to deal with it.

 

What? Order again. You have until January 15 to use the laptop and still return for 100% refund and they pay return shipping. Usually they bend over backwards to offer you a match especially at their own site.

 

Will they return the money right away when I tell them that I'm going to return it? I don't have the money to order another.

 

From HP's I've returned in the past, pretty much the money is credited the same day they receive the returned laptop. I just sent my dad's back today because it arrived this morning, and called them up, got an RMA number and they emailed me a label, dropped it off at FedEx and hopefully will be credited Tues or Wed.

I am still surprised that they didn't credit you. If you ask for an RMA they most certainly will offer you some concession. Usually $50-$100. They did with my dad's laptop until I told them I needed $175 to break even from the better deal I got ($50 cheaper + $125 extra features).

 

Do you think they'll offer some sort of credit if I bought the dv6z QE but now request to RMA it so I can get the better deal with the dv6t?

Thanks for the new codes gwilled. Unfortunately, when trying to place an order for a dv6 quad, I noticed the omission of any information on which ATI card they will drop into it. With all of the speculation going on here regarding which card it could be, I guess I'll have to sit and wait till the dust settles.

 

Sometimes they omit the card for whatever reason, maybe supply issue, I don't know. There should be at least two options, one for "discrete level performance" (which is really just the IGP) and one for something more than that, can't remember what they call it.

 

The video cards have been updated for the DV6's. The 1GB version is the 7470M, which is a very weak card. The 2GB version is the 7690M, which is basically an overclocked 6770M. With that said, I wouldn't buy one of these laptops if you're a gamer unless you shell out an extra $75 for the 2GB card.

I just tried NBW4973 and it works for 33% off with the envy 15.

 

Odd, expires tonight or in the next few hours then. The $450 works better on cheaper configurations, but the 33% off is better for configs with a lot of upgrades. Use it while it lasts if you need it!
