Sorry for posting it here but it seemed most appropriate sub-forum. Mods, feel free to move to where it's most appropriate.
Apparently, the notebook manufaturers are hit with rising prices of raw materials (primarily cobalt & nickel) and labor costs. So expect the prices on notebook computers to rise in very near future.

I'm pretty sure all prices are rising. Because according to the media, it's the end of the world.

they rise cos dollar is falling ...
-
Doesn't quite work that way.
-
if it wasnt for the rising price of gasoline, there wouldn't be fuel efficient cars on the road today. although i'm not sure what effects high priced notebooks will have.
-
Cars are only slightly more fuel efficient than when gasoline was around $1.70 a gallon. Americans might go on 3 joyrides instead of 4, and the only real changes are that automakers actually acknowledge fuel economy in advertisements. Petrol needs to get so expensive that the price doesn't fit the signs (X.XX) before a big change in transport happens.
-
The only big change they'll make is smaller numbers, so they can fit more of them in the same size row. -
SO the price of new pc's are rising but that only means the models out now will go down alot. AM I reading this correctly
-
laptops are not a commodity but a manufactured good
laptop prices will stay at the price that consumers want to buy them.
the components used may just be cheaper. -
notebooks prices are already more than the past few months, in part, due to batteries...
-
Then they will not sell.
-
The prices may rise as we have seen with batteries since the supply is low, but there isn't going to be a drastic change in price. Either way it will self adjust because people will buy less.
-
Laptop price errection?
Sounds like a "been there, seen that" kind of deal. -
I read in my local paper (Seattle) that LCD HDTV prices are expected to rise too, due to China's higher raw material & labor costs.
I'm sure many products from there will start going up some. -
gravy train's been over!
