the seller will cash the money and disappear. that is why he says delivery on 14 business days. that makes 3 weeks. 3 weeks is more than enough to get the money into the bank account and cash it. yes, the bank will come after him when paypal tries to get the money back but in china where the hell they will find him. he will make anywhere between $30-50K in a month. average income in china is about $3K a year.

Man, I am tempted to leave bad feedback, I shoulda known it was a scam, but I took that chance.

Guess now I am stuck waiting for the item to ship before I can get my money back. But do y'all think it's a good idea to leave bad feedback now even though I haven't received the drive yet?

Actually his money is on the line

Once the seller transfers the paypal funds to his bank account and closes it, paypal cant do anything.

    Take action now

Good side of this, I get some experience on how to get my money back from a fraudulent seller.

I believe in some cases PayPal doesn't let you transfer to your bank account until a certain amount of time has passed after a transaction. Of course 3 weeks is more then enough time.

Yes it takes 5 business days to transfer paypal funds to bank account.

It will take these buyers at least takes 7 days or more to receive it. Thats IF the seller even sends anything out.

If you report the item to ebay im pretty sure they freeze the funds till the matter is resolved.

Looks like the negative feedback has started:

K, gave him bad feedback, and open a case with paypal. Takes 3 days before they will even look at it. So guess its good I'm doing it now.

It does say the drive has shipped, but I sent a email to the seller saying I dont care if I havent gotten it, I know this is a scam after reading on some websites. I asked for my money back, and even said I would mark "Return to sender" on the package to assure he gets it back.(not sure if thats how you do it, but I think it is)

So yeah, I'm real appreciative of everyone here. Hopefully I can get this guy stopped, and get my money back at the same time.

Ebay wont do anything until there is evidence from one party. So until the flash drive or supposed flash drive arrives or doesn't arrive in a reasonable amount of time they will just say to wait it out. Because right now the seller technically hasn't done anything wrong. But don't worry as long as your paypal was verified paypal favors the buyers more than the sellers for ebay auctions.

ha, yeah, go figure he would.

I see I've pretty much stopped his sells though, when i left the bad feedback he was at I think like 1,020 something, now as of this msg he is only at 1,033.
But he has only sold 1 since I went to bed.

I'm being flooded with PM's from others asking how its a scam though, didnt realize ppl do that. I'm just responding with that Falshdrive scam website that was posted here.

So far, the seller hasnt contacted me, or anyone else about my money. But good to see at least for now, my bad feedback has stopped/slowed his sells.

If the seller is selling the same product or very siumilar product in mass or high avlued items for alot less than the market selling price and not a power seller or a trusted seller it is 90% scam. This guy we are talking about had a legit business for sometime to be able to get funds from paypal to the bank account without any extra delays. It takes about 2-3 business days not 5. Yes, you are protected with ebay buyer protection but since there is a unit being shipped and per the sellers records it will be delivered, the dispute process will take a long time.

Wow that is quick =(. Lesson learned definitely now, thanks for the tips.

I did msg ebay with the link showing how the 128gb flashdrives are scams. So hopefully this helps. I dunno if they can, but I did ask for them to freeze his account. Laugh if I am just being too hopeful. I dont really want to lose 30bucks, but more importantly, all the others that bought this too deserve their money back. So all I care is that everyone gets their money back and Ill be happy.

I thought since it was "buyer protected" I would be safe, and maybe I am, but this so isnt worth all the hassle it has become. But now, as said earlier, I think its more important to me that everyone gets their money back rather than just me.

I can safely say that I have never been scammed like this, especially when the deal appears too good to be true. The old adage, "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is," should have been heeded here.

I would never have been sucked into this scam because the signs warning against it were so blatantly obvious, and if, for argument's sake, I WERE sucked into it, I definitely wouldn't register the sort of righteous indignation I have read here from people who bought into this.

Sadly, yes there is tons more. Even more than just that one.

I also filed a dispute with my credit card company. So hopefully they can just do a reverse charge there. Either way, I'm just hoping to get my money back as soon as possible. And get this crap behind me.

I usually dont fall for this stuff, but I let my impulse outweigh my gut. But hey, I certainly learned my lesson, and hopefully quick enough to get all my money back without this guy running off with it, and everyone else's money.

    ^ yeah could be true...

If this USB stick was priced at $90, i might have been a prospective buyer.

$29 w/ free shipping is just plain silly. Now its down to $27 because of competition from other fake sellers lol.

Can you imagine the abuses that could result from such a system especialy between competing sellers?

There is no substitute for a buyer using their brain and looking for the red flags on the road.

Scammers only get away with things like this because people keep falling for them.

K, good news folks, my CC company has already given me my money back. They said they looked into it, and agreed that it was a scam(dunno what they did, but I'm not going to argue with their methods).

So guess now that I'm good, now to make sure everyone else gets their money back. I'm still getting tons of PMs on ebay, so people are aware, even if stupid ppl keep giving the seller good feedback on the drive for some odd reason.

Just want to thank everyone here, because of y'all I got the ball rolling ASAP, and it has certainly paid off.

    Good to hear

Yeah soccer mums and dads dont exactly verify the space in the flash drive. Once the receive the item, and see that it works they will leave positive feedback.

Their gonna want to retract that positive feedback once they find that it doesnt really store 128gb.

Have you received the flash drive yet?

Nope, prob wont for another 2weeks. Says it takes about 17days since its coming from China via standard Postal mail. Not sure what to do with it once I get it. May not even open it if no further proof is need this was a scam and everyone gets their refunds.

These are definitely scams and it isn't just for the 128GB versions but smaller sizes like 16GB. Happen to me, the 16GB was really only 4GB. I got my money back and the seller had his account closed after I complained and explained the scam to paypal.

It helped he already had a few negative comments confirming what I told them. Though by far there were more positive comments, I guess from people who never realized the problem.

Like a previous poster pointed out, do not buy flash drives outside of US or at least not directly from Asia.
