Your configuration on a 4-cell will run maybe 90 minutes, I'm guessing.
You type in "EPP" in the search box in the upper right corner. Click on the first link it shows. Bam!
-
-
anyones card been charged yet? o r online status change?
-
Thanks for the info on Fatwallet. Just a few quick questions though.
I'm assuming you are saying type in EPP on lenovo's search engine in the upper right after Fatwallet directs me to Lenovo.com, right?
Once I click on the link for EPP, and eventually sign-in, how does Fatwallet know about my purchase still? As far as I can tell the URL is the same whether I first went through Fatwallet or just signed in normally to EPP without using Fatwallet. Does that make sense? I don't mind reordering if I know its going to work.
Do you think if I contact Fatwallet they can still offer me the deal without having to reorder? (Since I was a member prior to ordering.)
All info is truly appreciated!
Thanks in advance! -
-
yikes, thats a long long time. my ship date is 14 days out
-
would you think Lenovo will shut this account down soon because everybodys getting the discount?
-
-
^Question is, how will that affect those of us who jumped in on the deal?
-
There is also the chance your manufacturer's warranty will become voided even if they do ship it. If you read the legal terms for the current warranty, Lenovo reserves the right to cancel warranties due to "fraud, material misrepresentation...by You" (IX.3). I assume they also reserve similar rights when finalizing sales.
Someone else said they might go back and charge people that got the EPP discount, but I find that hard to believe. -
-
And if they try to deny a warranty on this scale...be sure that lenovo will reap a **** storm from many pissed off people. It would be a mistake for the IMO for something they allowed to happen.
I do think the original post should be removed, it only draws more negative attention to this. -
I don't understand what the problem could be. No one can prove/disprove that I am Brian Meyer's friend.
-
-
"Hey Brian, we need a list of people you allowed to use your EPP account. Seems like your friends ordered a couple hundred laptops shipped all around the country."
Brian produces a list of two people from FatWallet. -
Why do you think it was removed from all the other sites? You want to take a guess smart guy?
-
Moreover, it's not up to you or his superiors to determine how one's friendships should be like. Maybe Brian is really great friends with me, but he doesn't even know my name. Maybe he doesn't know the name of a lot of his peeps. Maybe that's just his thang. Does that make for dysfunctional friendships? Maybe you think so. -

Is this safe to buy? We won't get in trouble and get sued?
-
-
Jeez......you really think Andrew would do something stupid? He wrote the almighty T61 review for God's sake!!!
You are Brian Meyer's friend. You were at his wedding last fall, just remember that. -

So since there is no return allowed, what about dead pixels? I don't even know their dead pixel policy I guess. Shed some light on this please?
-
well i ordered one of these last night. my shipping date is june 11th though.
i honestly think my order will get canceled. i suppose i couldve used the student discount, but whatever. the EPP is worth the risk i think.
i can see how original manufacturer's warranty might be voided, but does anyone know if the extended warranty can be voided? i got the 3 year onsite one. -
Well, I just couldn't wait for the T61p any longer. I decided that the only I want out of the p is the new graphics card, which is only somewhat better than the 140M anyways... I would rather save $850 and get my new laptop a bit sooner. Besides, if they cancel the whole deal, I will be able to scope out the T61p.

So what's the real answer...And if it's some joke, it's Not funny. What's the real answer? I'm dead serious. Cause I'm seriously going to consider a Lenovo. Is it safe or not? Will I get into trouble or not?
-
We are DEAD serious, Lenovo will kill you, and your warranty. THIS is why its sometimes best to kill a deal...because people like this ruin it for all.
-
Sneaky_Chopsticks Notebook Deity
Ah, ok then. Thanks
-
here is a few questions:
1.I jumped on this deal yesterday and now I want to modify my orderis it safe to call or I can ruin it for everyone?

Anyone from CA who bought a Thinkpad with this deal and was double charged for the recycle fee? (out-of-staters, don't ask
)
-
at least for me, i suspect it might have to do with the fact that i got the 2.2 ghz chip instead. maybe they have more supplies of the 2.0 ghz one or something. -
Just one of these guys:
CAFEE06 RECYCLE FEE FOR PRODUCT WITH 6.00 1 6.00
And this:
Tax: 108.27
I'm from CA. -
Yeah, I don't know why I have two of them, but I also don't want to call about that and hear "Hey.........you're not really Bryan Meyer's friend are you......"
-
He really is in the IBM employee directory... he works in sales support (whatever that means, could be many things) in glendale california.
He looks very young and inexperienced.
He has breached a condition of IBM's Business Conduct Guidelines, which can lead to disciplinary action including termination of employement.
It's possible that he did not post his information. It could be a malicious post by someone seeking to get him in trouble.
If your order ships, as it likely will, then it's yours. They are unlikely to chase you for it or try to charge you more later. But I'd consider your laptop to be without warranty, as it very well could be voided. I surely wouldn't pay good money to extend the warranty or buy accidental coverage that they might dispute should you need it.
Fun & games. -
The prices look to be such that no discount stacking is happening.
oh well, good onya for that. -
-
GR23, nobody can give you a guarantee that there won't be negative repercussions.
Disclaimer: IANAL and IAN an accountant.
I am inclined to think that Lenovo would not sue buyers for this. Even if they were to win in court, the money they would recover would probably not make the effort worthwhile. The best resolution for them would be to cancel the orders before they have shipped. The next best thing, as others have suggested, to cancel the warranty on the machines obtained through Meyer's employee rebate. Someone pointed out a clause in there about fraud. Lenovo could refuse to provide support for those machines because the purchase was made under the fraudulent pretense of being a friend of Meyer. -
Thank you SkiBunny for clearing things up. I guess I am not sure whether having any warranty is worth the extra savings. Out of the 3 PowerBooks I have had, I have never used the warranty....in fact I don't remember ever having to use any warranties. I think I have used that BestBuy protection thing once, but that was because my XBOX was broken and that was my fault.
-
What I want to find out is, if the warranty isn't there....how much would Lenovo charge an hour to fix my laptop? They would not refuse to fix it if I paid for it? Would they?
I am just worried about the dead pixels at this point since no return is accepted. I will think this through until lunch and maybe cancel it. Don't think it may be worth the ~$250 I saved if I have to second guess myself everyday.... -
is there any way to cancel without calling them. I don't want to call because they might ask EPP info.
-
I was looking at my bank account info online and I noticed that pending payment for this purchase has disappeared. Do they just check for credit and then charge when it is shipped?
-
if you are so afraid of your warranty becoming voided, just call them as ask them point blank.
-
also, anyone see that ship estimates are at 8/28 now???! -
-
Yeah, mine has not changed on the ship date either. But the payment is not pending like it was shortly after the order on my bank Visa card. However, on the statu page, it says it is still "In Progress".
Anyone know the issue with payment?
