Does anyone know if the U330 is covered under Lenovo's international warranty (IWS)? Need to relocate to Germany but want to be sure basic warranty is covered.

i just ordered - and immediately in my cashback account for $97.66....for some reason said the unit was $976.65 when it was actually 1043.80 plus $4126 tax

have to wait 60 days ofcourse but whatever, expected ship date for the notebook is 9/22

by the way....ordered the high config - and it had the same price as the lower one - i would jump on that ;) cuz if they try to cancel it, i will bit*ch and bit*ch until they give it to me :)

Update: Lenovo DID do price matching. All you have to do is go to the checkout page on Lenovo and spec out the exact same purchase you made, convert it to a quote and call Lenovo. Theyll ask for your quote number and then give you the deduction. For anyone who has already ordered the higher config, do this asap because theyll probably find out the error soon.

    EDIT:
They price matched the site, and the guy said I keep my cashback.

does that mean they gave you the difference in price? or they corrected the website because the website is still showing the same price....

what was the original price for the higher config anyway?

They will charge the discounted price when the laptop ships. The original price was $1349 I believe, for the higher spec.

I ordered the higher spec laptop. Ship Date: 09/22/08

Thanks for the tip! I almost got an X200 for $1450 (cpp discount), but I got this instead which'll serve my purposes just as well for $570 cheaper. :D

    Much appreciated!

I got the Live.com cash, too, btw. For anyone looking for more confirmation that it does indeed work.

Those specs are about as close as we know right now. It does have a built-in dvd burner (I found it post on one of Lenovo's blogs confirming it). I think it's pretty glossy. I saw someone had posted some pics in the Lenovo section of the forums.

Yeah here are some actual pictures, also the cashback did just show up and seems to work good. Yeah I grabbed the higher config when I saw it was the same price, quite a bonus for me was going for higher one anyway. Cashback says $97.66 but what can I do.

here are some actual pics from infosyncworld. i think its pretty nice although not as sexy as the u110

if i buy it through CPP + coupon, can i also use live.com cashback? that would be a sweet deal. if so, whats the procedure for that? after clicking on the lenovo link from live.com, i dont see a CPP link anywhere on lenovo's website

    thanks

I registered after the checkout so I dont think it matters, and it did show up. But yeah would help to sign up before.

Nope it doesnt cover it. I asked extensively because I will be back and forth from Canada to the States. They said if there was a problem they would charge me the shipping cost to get it to the States and back, and besides that shouldnt be a hassle. But from Germany, could get expensive.

Its in Black, they havent put the Indigo one on yet. Idk I personally prefer the black one anyway.

There might be a way. If you login in first into EPP/CPP or any other, and then close the page, I remember doing it with CPP and next time I went on Lenovo.com it was on Contracter Link right away. So with that in mind, the Cashback link might redirect you and it would go to that.

Besides that all I can think is save the quote on an account when logged in and then login with the redirected cashback link. good luck

    It was $100 more, $1249.

You cant use the coupon once you go on CPP site, they both give you the same price anyway. So yeah best price is going through cashback link and using coupon. If you want to try anyway see what I wrote in the previous post with EPP.

and yeah they held back on the gloss, keyboard is normal now, seems to me best of the best, no more fingerprints and still beauty.

there is a different coupon for CPP that gives you 7% off: USEIDEAPAD5

    so if live cashback works: 976 - 7% coupon = 908 - 10% cashback = 817

You can click the live.com search link, then go to the lenovo.com search bar, type cpp, click the link, enter the cpp code, then proceed as you would normally to buy the computer.

No guarantees that it'll work, but it might.

no more interest in this deal?

so what does everyone think about this laptop? solid specs all around? not too much gloss?

i've been looking at the dell m1330 for quite some time, but this is a much newer model with seemingly better specs for less. how does lenovo compare to dell in terms of build quality and customer service?

i went ahead and bought it through CPP with the 7% coupon: 908 + tax

i bought it through live.com so lets see if it shows up. If not, i might cancel the order and buy it through the normal site as it works out cheaper then.

i hope this laptop is as good as it looks and as good as the specs are!

I have a M1330 and could say I'd take this one over it. It has better specs, newer Centreno 2, switchable graphics, a better GPU (not to mention it's not running the risk of becoming a time bomb like the nVidia), it's thinner (.9-1.1 vs. .87-1.33), lighter with a six cell (or so rumored), and best of all it's cheaper! The only thing that's keeping me from trading in so to speak, is I hate the glossy screens (my m1330 being my first glossy screen and not intending on getting another) and glossy case (to much work to keep clean).

USPIDEAPAD15 does still work, just make sure its entered correctly and no spaces at the end, and try a couple of times. I just tried now and its good. CPP is Contractor Purchase Program, which you need a code to get to the special site, and it gives you the same price that the USPIDEAPAD15 coupon would. 15% off.

has anyone from the CPP orders received cashback?

and for those concerned about the processor, take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_architecture#Laptops

it fits right in between the T8300 and T9300, and it also has a lower power consumption - so its a hell of a good processor and its excellent for battery life :)

It looks like the price of the higher-spec'd model has gone up $100. Lenovo has also updated the processor information to (2GHz 667MHz 1MB), which I'm pretty sure is wrong considering this web page from Intel:

    http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLB53

I ordered one of these two days ago for $1018 with tax. My estimated ship date is 9/22/08 like a lot of others. I can only hope that the ship date is a mistake and it'll come earlier than that.

Good questions! Maybe if the indigo becomes available a few weeks before it ships I'll try and change the order!

I went to the site, to the U330 added it to cart and then it pops up, sometimes its on the main page, but from whenever Ive wanted to go on it, it was while I was about to place the order, so add it to the cart and then maybe refresh. It comes sooner or later. Usually ive spoken to Scott but there are some other people too.
