anyone else who ordered this besides havoc531 got the cashback?
-
edit: I registered on live.com before i purchased from lenovo so i would recomend doing that -
Does anyone know if the U330 is covered under Lenovo's international warranty (IWS)? Need to relocate to Germany but want to be sure basic warranty is covered.
-
i just ordered - and immediately in my cashback account for $97.66....for some reason said the unit was $976.65 when it was actually 1043.80 plus $4126 tax
have to wait 60 days ofcourse but whatever, expected ship date for the notebook is 9/22
by the way....ordered the high config - and it had the same price as the lower one - i would jump on thatcuz if they try to cancel it, i will bit*ch and bit*ch until they give it to me
-
just ordered higher config, and got the cashback ;]
but do any of you know anything abaut the colour? In releases they mentioned black and indygo, but there was no choice on Lenovo site. Well, I always liked surprises -
-
Update: Lenovo DID do price matching. All you have to do is go to the checkout page on Lenovo and spec out the exact same purchase you made, convert it to a quote and call Lenovo. Theyll ask for your quote number and then give you the deduction. For anyone who has already ordered the higher config, do this asap because theyll probably find out the error soon.
-
I am calling right now. They better price match me! Maybe I will keep the cashback too.
EDIT:
They price matched the site, and the guy said I keep my cashback. -
is there any way to use the cashback AND epp?
-
what was the original price for the higher config anyway? -
They will charge the discounted price when the laptop ships. The original price was $1349 I believe, for the higher spec.
-
I ordered the higher spec laptop. Ship Date: 09/22/08
Thanks for the tip! I almost got an X200 for $1450 (cpp discount), but I got this instead which'll serve my purposes just as well for $570 cheaper.
Much appreciated!
I got the Live.com cash, too, btw. For anyone looking for more confirmation that it does indeed work. -

and it definitely has a built-in dvd burner, correct?
and one more question: how glossy is the u330 body
thanks - smoking hot deal if they dont cancel! -
-
See ipbook for detailed specs.
-
does anyone have links to actual pictures (not the airbrushed lenovo ones) or reviews?
i'm really interested but a little worried since there is so little information out there -
Yeah here are some actual pictures, also the cashback did just show up and seems to work good. Yeah I grabbed the higher config when I saw it was the same price, quite a bonus for me was going for higher one anyway. Cashback says $97.66 but what can I do.
here are some actual pics from infosyncworld. i think its pretty nice although not as sexy as the u110
-
not bad...doesnt seem TOO glossy
if i buy it through CPP + coupon, can i also use live.com cashback? that would be a sweet deal. if so, whats the procedure for that? after clicking on the lenovo link from live.com, i dont see a CPP link anywhere on lenovo's website
thanks -
Besides that all I can think is save the quote on an account when logged in and then login with the redirected cashback link. good luck
-
and yeah they held back on the gloss, keyboard is normal now, seems to me best of the best, no more fingerprints and still beauty. -
Oof, That left shift is going to take some getting used to if that's the final config. Is there a chance I can swap the keyboard out for a thinkpad x300 one?
-
so if live cashback works: 976 - 7% coupon = 908 - 10% cashback = 817 -
No guarantees that it'll work, but it might. -
how long does it take for the live.com cashback to post...it seems like people are getting it right away
will report back...if it doesnt post up, i can always cancel it and reorder from the non-CPP area -
-
wow this thread died
no more interest in this deal?
so what does everyone think about this laptop? solid specs all around? not too much gloss?
i've been looking at the dell m1330 for quite some time, but this is a much newer model with seemingly better specs for less. how does lenovo compare to dell in terms of build quality and customer service? -
i went ahead and bought it through CPP with the 7% coupon: 908 + tax
i bought it through live.com so lets see if it shows up. If not, i might cancel the order and buy it through the normal site as it works out cheaper then.
i hope this laptop is as good as it looks and as good as the specs are! -
I owned an older Thinkpad. I am a big fan of Dell laptops, but I do think the build quality of Lenovo is better.
-
quick question: why does it say it comes with an ultrabase when you add to cart? doesn't it have an optical drive??
-
hey guys how do we get a discount on this one I cant use USPIDEAPAD15 ? and what is cpp? it is for $1149 for now. thanks
-
I just ordered a U330, the higher spec of the two.

BBGus -
Wow I would jump on this if the ship date were sooner. I can't bare to wait a month for it
-
-
-
-
-
The USPIDEAPAD15 coupon is not working for the student discount section. I also doubt the cashback will work.
-
has anyone from the CPP orders received cashback?
and for those concerned about the processor, take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_architecture#Laptops
it fits right in between the T8300 and T9300, and it also has a lower power consumption - so its a hell of a good processor and its excellent for battery life -
well i would more say right below the p8400
because it is a 2.0ghz clock - but a 1066mhz fsb, where as the T series is 800mhz fsb -
plus the ddr3 hotness
-
I just received my HP DV4T on Friday but I bit the bullet and ordered. Anyone know what the return policy is for HP? I got a 9/22 delivery date tho...ugh!
Edit: 21 day return policy from delivery! -
yep, 21 days from the day you receive!
you could always send that back and then buy a computer from sams club and have a 6 month return policyno restocking fee....
lifetime for any other electronic....including TV's -
Does anyone know if it ships with 32bit or 64bit Vista? Also, i dont see it on the specks in the ipbook pdf, is there an IR port for a media remote?
-
It looks like the price of the higher-spec'd model has gone up $100. Lenovo has also updated the processor information to (2GHz 667MHz 1MB), which I'm pretty sure is wrong considering this web page from Intel:
http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLB53
I ordered one of these two days ago for $1018 with tax. My estimated ship date is 9/22/08 like a lot of others. I can only hope that the ship date is a mistake and it'll come earlier than that. -

Talked to Scott Searle too, asked bout the 667MHz bus, it is wrong, its actually 1066MHz as on the site.
The DVD drive is not removable, is fixed
No indigo as of now. -
Good questions! Maybe if the indigo becomes available a few weeks before it ships I'll try and change the order!
-
-
Funny, it was right on the main page this morning. I just went back and it doesnt come up. Maybe Scott is at lunch?!?
