Seriously, i'd like to know too.

 

I just looked at the pics and specs...only 2 USB ports could be a problem, especially with a portable that needs both ports to power up.

Wouldve been nice if they added an esata/usb port.

 

eh..... my M1330 also has only 2 USB ports... its a portable laptop(No space)...

laptop looks great - not as glossy as the u110 but still enough gloss to make it sexy...nice and slim too (beats the m1330!) with amazing specs

i can't wait - its time to retire my 3+ year old dell 700m. i hope it ships sooner than 9/22

I have a 9/22 date too. I don't mind the wait too much, looks like more info is coming out on the new Studio XPS line. People are speculating the XPS gets a Montevina refresh in September and the Studio XPS comes out in November. A drawback would be that Dell keeps using the nVidia cards instead of ATI.

I can't imagine the price will be this good tho.

I have a 9/10 ship date. Hoping for this week sometime.

*shrug* Ship dates don't matter. Don't count on Lenovo on delivering anytime soon. That way, you won't be disappointed.

I got you beat, i got 4 confirmation emails. I looked and all of the order numbers are the same.

yah same here, took 4 days to get them after the immediate order email, but got 4 order confirmations today all same order number in each email

 

For those of you that had Price Matching done:
The invoice that is emailed to you does NOT show the altered price. Your credit card will be charged the adjusted price.

I asked the rep if any of her U330 sales had shipped.

The first batch of U330s is in build right now.

i've seen others with 9/10, 9/19 so..

 

Maybe all the 9/22 ship dates come early and they end up looking good even if the date really was 9/10!

I think the use of the coupon invalidated the cash back per Microsoft's terms. I used the link and have not received my cash back yet either. I have received my cash back from Newegg which I ordered the same day.

 

I used the 15% off coupon and still received cashback. What is yet to be seen is if it will be cancelled because of my pricematch.

 

What price match did you use?

 

Lenovo made a pricing error such that the highest configuration costed as much as the lowest configuration. They fixed it already. But lots of people took advantage of it while it lasted.

 

Ooh, I bought the higher config while they were priced the same. I suppose I came out on top.

 

any updates (new laptop info, shipping estimates, build status)?

I just checked my status and it still says 9/22. Still don't mind the wait too much, it might give me a chance to take a peak at the Dell M1330 XPS refresh.

 

To all the people expecting the laptops to ship on the projected date- dont get your hopes up too high.

Im not saying to cut Lenovo some slack. Ideally, they should release them and be ready for the scores of orders, but that really does not happen with any manufacturer. I am simply saying that being a newly released notebook, delays do happen and I expect them to.

ok serious question: does anyone know if this laptop has any bright lights as indicators? for example, a bright blue light somewhere on the front side of the laptop that indiciates wifi is on. i'm asking because it'd be very annoying in a dark room.

Yea, it does. I'm guessing that there might be an option in the bios to turn them off? But again, that's just a guess.

What a promising machine. If the screen turns out to be good this definitely is an awesome laptop! Light, moderate gaming capabilities, battery life and a good price!

Another update:
I spoke with Ryan at Lenovo yesterday in regards to an update on the situation. His response was completely different from Melissa's, saying that the U330 is an *in-stock* item and they are sorting through invoices manually because of a system error...

if you go to the u330 page on lenovo's site, it says ships in 3-4 weeks so it doesnt seem to be an "in stock" item...it would be nice if it is though

 

i still think they will be on time with there 9/19-9/22 ship dates because this wasn't customizable so they really are only making 2 types of laptops, shouldnt be too hard so i would assume they will ship on time or maybe a little earlier.

 

is the keyboard on this the same as the picture in the ipbook (small left shift, with the forward slash in between the shift and Z key, and a big 2-row enter key)?

It's a UK keyboard. Everything will be fine for the US one.

 

They definitely won't be shipped earlier--at least, mine won't. My projected ship date is 9/2, and the order status still says "in process." Aside from the initial e-mail saying the order was placed, I didn't get an order confirmation e-mail until 8/27 (eight days after I placed my order), which is a little disconcerting. Anyone else get this e-mail unusually late? The subject line is "Confirmation for Lenovo Order XXXXXX." I'm still hoping for my 9/2 ship date, but it seems rather unlikely at this point. Too bad, 'cause I'm really looking forward to using this machine.

Hopefully, they'll quickly resolve whatever issues they're having. Looks like they've got a lot of orders, and things could get pretty congested pretty quickly unless they stay on top of things.

 

I also have a sept 2 ship date listed but was told by the rep sept 22nd when I called to confirm. I also got that late confirmation email and my status and ship date have not changed on the website.

 

yah it seems that mutiple people who had a september 2nd ship date was really a 22nd, just think it was a typo but who knows.

because i ordered right when it came out, or well 2 days after ordering was possible and it was 22nd
