Lenovo IdeaPad U330 - $976 and lower

well sony has some problems with over-heating and U330 is not bad what u pay for unless u care more about clock speed

 

An hour ago I received an e-mail from Lenovo indicating the shipment of my 22672AU! Previously my estimated ship date was 22 Sep on the web and 06 Oct on the phone. It looks like they made a pretty good estimate, but I'm still of course dissatisfied with the actual delay between order and shipment. Posted impressions are guaranteed to follow my imminent breaking-in of this machine.

 

mine shipped today also....had an expected of 9/22, then told 2nd week of october


and since i expected it to be long anyway and well into october - i am very happy ;0

 

order status page now says shipped via ups ground (no tracking yet though)

 

Wow that was fast compared to the shipping of the T400s....imo I think it is because they cannot be customized like the T400s....so the supply issue becomes less of a problem....tell me if I'm wrong

 

I called lenovo today and they told me that my order shipping date has been pushed back to 10/6/2008. But then I see this email saying that my laptop has been shipped today.... I have my fingers crossed and I hope that this "shipment" is not for the additional one year warranty that I purchased.

 

oh that would be funny considering i also ordered a year accidental extend...not an additional year but still added on to the warranty....

 

the t400 doesn't take a month to ship in any configuration possible....i originally ordered the u330 on 8/23

 

I didn't get the extended warranty and mine still says it shipped.

I hope mines get shiped on the expected ship date of 9/30 and not 10/6 like they said when i called a week ago.

Tracked mine this morning and it shows 3 day select shipping instead of ground also. Shipping from NC/SC should only be 2 days to FL, maybe UPS will surprise me and I'll have it tomorrow.

 

Is there anyway to still get this great deal? I have tried the coupon code USPSEPTDEAL but it does not work.

 

Just call Lenovo sales. Remember that their job is to SELL, and they will likely honor the coupon and any other discount. There are some sales reps that will not bargain- but if it takes a few calls to save the money, its worth the trouble.

 

Now that we know these things actually exist (well not for sure until someone gets theirs), what kind of accessories are people planning on purchasing?

I've been looking for a decent (and reasonably priced) messenger bag to carry this in and haven't come up with too many positive results. There's a STM Alley 13" that seems to fit this fairly snugly with some wiggle room here. (Laptop Space 12.8 x 9.8 x 1.6 inches) (The U330 is 12.5 x 9.3 x 0.9-1.1) Everything else seems to fit the mac books, which don't quite work for it.

While this is an accessories question, I thought it would be better here since most of the people who ordered a U330 are probably looking in this direction.

 

I plan on buying a Zeroshock sleeve and using my trusty old backpack. But I also have an Oakley AP Bag that rocks and a Belkin backpack.

 

Take lots of pictures, and post them once you get your u330!

 

Where do you intend to get your sleeve from? White and Black are sold out at Shinza.com. They do have orange, however.

There seems to be some white and orange ones on ebay, also.. I'd really prefer black, though. Guess that's why they're sold out, I'm not the only one.

my u330 is being delivered tomorrow however not at the house till friday so can't see it till then sadly

The coupon code is ONLY working on the lower spec model, FYI. As soon as I hear an informal review and it looks positive, I'm in for one! Can't wait until someone unboxes theirs!

Hah! I absolutely HATE waiting for packages from UPS. I probably check the tracking number 15 times within the week it is being delivered. I am so impatient...I am REALLY looking forward to some pictures and reviews today!

Today was my ship date... seems to have come and gone with no word. I'll give them a call tomorrow and pray I don't get delayed.

 

GOT MINE!!! Posting from the u330... Works great.. Will be installing a clean copy of Vista Ultimate and Fedora core 9 on this baby... Will update...

 

Can someone tell me how games play on the U330. For all of you who have received one please be kind enough to check some games out.

From what I konw, the AU 3 GB model has a higher windows index than the BU model 2Gb one.

Can ppl verify this. The 3gb model has a 4.3 whereas the BU 2gb one has a 3.7

I might be wrong but wud love if someone can back this claim.

sigh...looks like the prices on both editions are now $1249.00 at full price. The sale is no more. Are there still any discount codes out there that would drop the price to under 1000?
