Wha Ha! Dude, I'm an old guy and couldn't possibly have something like that on my desk. But I gotta say, that's awesome. Maybe not quite as cool as the PC a guy made from a stuffed beaver, but that's great. Well done.

What is the model of that steering wheel, I need it, lol.

I always wanted something with a clutch and gearbox, didn't think any existed for PC.

~300 isn't expensive at all for that. I'm going pick one up. Now hopefully I can find some good games to work with it right.

Only downside is I don't really have anywhere to clamp it :/

I hope that wheel works with the NFS series of games. If I could get shifting working the way I wanted it to, I might just play the entire series over.

    ~$300 isn't much? Well I wish I were you then... :p

You'll want somewhere to set it up properly, with all the feedback the wheel gets out of had if you don't attach it firmly to a desk or something. I know from experience.

Does the actual shifting and clutch work like a real car, or is it fake like the arcade where the clutch doesnt do squat? Or does it depend on the game?

Even if the game supports it, it has to be weird since you can't really feel the weight of the car/engine movement.

^^^^ I tried doing that with a 37" TV I have, didn't last 2 days, lol. Couldn't stand the low resolution. Then again, it looks like yours is 1080P, mine was only 720P :/

Mine is a 42" 1080p. But only the stock drivers support that resolution (crappy, I know) and for some reason I can't set that resolution.

But really, it's only here for a short time. I was watching Football with my friends in my room. Will go back to the living room eventually.

@mattireland: Thanks for your compliment ;)

If you are talking about the NFS series, only Carbon and Prostreet works with the G25's gearbox, but they don't explicitly require you to depress the clutch 1st before shifting. You can shift without the clutch. Only Test Drive Unlimited reproduces everything lifelike with the G25. Other older racing games work with the wheel too, but in the sequential gearshift mode.

I messed with Prostreet a little, and there is an Auto, manual, and Clutch Manual setting. The only thing is that toy don't have to let out the gas to shift if you don't feel like it. Other than that the clutch appears to work like a clutch (U used a key for testing the clutch).

Finally, I have taken a picture of my "computer room". It is 100% funded by me, so there are no useless amenities or 50" plasma TVs! The specs for the two laptops are in my sig. The IBM runs Ubuntu Gutsy (kernel 2.6.24-16), while the HP runs a 64-bit version of Vista with 4GB of RAM.

The mouse is the popular Logitech MX518 gaming mouse; well-priced, but a good all-around mouse. The cell phone in the back is an old Siemens SK65; German quality + Blackberry functionality :D.

I've posted my setup before, but it has changed a bit. I built my own stand recently. Shots are taken with a really old Canon point and shoot, then manually overexposed so you can actually see the stuff. (It is all funded my your truly except the penguin, he's from the GF -she calls him paddles)

Ahh ok. I was curious. I've always wanted to turn my closet into an entertainment area but unfortunately I only have one big closet. Now I want two smaller ones :(.

I suppose I could turn it into one, but then I would have to iron everything since it would be shoved into small drawers of a dresser. Lame.

Oh, and nice set-ups everyone. Once I get my laptop in a few weeks I'll post it up.

Nice setup I like the EVH 5150 myself. Had no idea people even know who Eddie is anymore? Jem's overrated, but that's my personal opinion. I've got a Washburn N2 (N4 was too pricey). Haven't played it in years though. Sad I know. Anyways cheers bud :)
