liquid steel, where did you get that desk. i need a new desk and i really like that.
-
It is a 4 year old Ikea Jerker (the table version). I think they make a new model that isn't as deep (I got it when I still had a 22in CRT, so I wanted the deepest thing possible). I believe the new one is called Frederik, but I am not positive.
-
Yeah the Frederik is the newer one. I should have gotten that instead of the desk I have now.
-
Nice ~ desk & setup (very minimal)!
My desk is sort of similar..its more *antiquish* but, has 2 drawers, instead...I should just post a pic' I guess!
-
do it (with you on the pic
if u dont mind)
-
This is a beauty, no? It's stuffed into a little alcove/closet area just off the garage. It's a beater machine used for nothing aside from disto-hopping with Linux. Notice the extra effort put into cable management, and how well the assorted peripherals match and blend into so nice a theme: Modern Classic Male Mess.
-
nice rob, what happened to the G5 and 30" apple displays?
I'll have a few pics up in the next couple of weeks when I finish my new build
-
Still have them, yang, but thought people could use a good laugh seeing the shots above.
The desktop isn't a G5, though, it's a MacPro. Look the same, but the MacPro has Intel innards.
Good to see you, btw. -
Do you wear a different baseball cap for every day of the week, bmwrob?
-
ah very sweet rob, and nice avatar! lmao!
how's the Bay Area? I miss going to wine country, this GA. heat and humidity is the pitts
-
A silly collection, I know, but I probably could wear a different one every day for the next couple of years.
The weather's nice lately, yang. Actually, it's been downright hot for the past couple of days, but humidity really isn't an issue. Good-lookin' guy in the avatar, ain't he, but he needs a bigger boat.
-
i found it on the site, it is Fredrik. it is only $120 and i want to buy it, but i live in syracuse,ny and the closest store is in NYC.i added it to the cart and went along to see what it would add up to, and with shipping/handling and tax it comes up to $400.
i can't find any other places that sell it.
can anyone recommend some other table style desks? -
I'll more than likely be building my new desk out of an 8ft piece of laminate countertop, and some prefabbed legs from either ikea, or home depot. If you are so inclined, it is pretty cost effective, if you just want a flat, sturdy surface.

Powered by my Toshiba Laptop
-
mattireland It used to be the iLand..
@Mark: I really, really love that desktop/server/whatever it does on your desk.
G15 - nice! -
Thanks! It is my desktop in a Mountain Mods H2gO case...although not quite done yet.
-
That's why I didn't get it because I would have had to go to Illinois to get it. Soon after though they built a store in Ohio, go figure.
-
What's that keyboard? I've been looking for something like that.
-
mattireland It used to be the iLand..
Mark, thanks for detailing the case. I'll have to look into one!
-
Here is mine. I apply the red leather on my xps 1530.
In my signature is a link to my thread about that. If you have free time, tell me how do you like it ^^! -

I am selling my old computer, so I took it apart to dust it out today and while I was at it snapped a few up to date pictures as most of the old ones I lost or were poor quality. I have to share a handfull of them because they are like works of art! The front intake could be a wallpaper!
All of these are with my point & shoot and no tripod.
Click for bigger view:
The "EVGA 7800GTX Mirror"
The "Dragon" (my intake mod)
Those are the pretty ones, all the rest I will put in my for sale thread later. -
Woah!!! Those are awesome, ViciousXUSMC!!!
-
this thread is going slow
-
i have this same case (i think, looks exactly like mine. i got it at bestbuy on sale for like ~$70
) and it's a monster, and i sort of don't like how the power supply is on the bottom. the cables from my PSU almost didn't reach my mobo
-
Me too.
$47 for the case, $8 for the window. I love it, but it could use a better airflow (I'm working on a solution for that now...).
-
Thats a great price for a case that looks like that!
As for cooling:
Cut a hole in the side panel for a fan blowing in on your components
Cut a hole in the top back blowing out
Mount a fan in the front bays to blow in and i think it will stay really chilly in there! -
I might have to join in on this once Im done with my new setup.
-
mattireland It used to be the iLand..
Why don't you join in on your current setup?
-
This is still posted as dead. Is that true?

Im working on a new computer, I want to build a custom desk for it but its probably not gonna happen. Still tho all the parts are here today so will have some pics of the new "area" soon for this thread and a TON of pictures of the build on Desktopreview.com in my new build thread.
http://forum.desktopreview.com/showthread.php?t=234528&page=7 -
At the time I didnt have a setup, essentially I was waiting on some things to come in and now they are in. Im about 90% done at the moment.
-
when im done ill post some pics
-
here's mine
-
how did you do that?
-
measure & go to a leather shop & ask them to cut!
buy logo somewhere else
-
That is a very sleek looking laptop. May I ask what you used to attach it to the laptop? I would think glue would come unstuck due to the heat.
-
How did you get those lines and the "stickers" on there? Are they burned on or is that printed?
-
here's part of his answer
read more in his thread
-
2 words: Laser Engraving.
it will never fall off unless you remove the leather.
somebody actually reading what I said, thanks
-
More importantly: badass wallpaper. Where did you get that?
-
Thanks. Quick response too.!
Repped just because.

whatever color you want here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=268560

Sorry about the quality but these pictures were taken on my new phone and I haven't had the time to tweak the camera settings.
From left to right: Averatec 2155 my mobile rig, Toshiba P4 from 2004 my new possible home server, and my dell vostro 1700 my main rig. Pretty plain setup, but I like it and it works out.Attached Files:
