Hey, don't feel bad. My desktop is an old PIII HP Pavilion. My monitor is an old Samsung SyncMaster 955DF. Over 50 pounds of CRT might!
-
maybe this weekend if i have some time
-
I need more space
somewhere i can actually write things! and i think i'm going to prefer daylight - it might be moving across to the window, one of the laptops I don't use much anymore, well its the work one so... will hopefully give me the room. I also need to get the audio set up, but not sure how right now, i'd like 5.1 as i watch a fair few films up there... and headphones...
great idea with the scarf btw!
Nox -
Yes, more space is always nice!
And a desk in front of a window is just awesome! I had my desk in front of one of my windows..but I'm doing some rearranging of furniture right now, so it got moved a couple of weeks back to where it is now!
I'm sure when you finally have things *set-up* the way you want it will look really nice!
Oh yeah...tying the cord with the *scarf*, I should market that! LOL

Ok so here's my final setup. I ve spent every penny on this, but it should last me for quite some time now.
Gateway P-7811FX with Zalman NC2000
Sager 9262 with 2Gb 9800mGTX SLI
NZXT Cryo notebook cooler
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme
Mac Pro + 20' Apple cinema display with Optical 5.1 Home theater surround sound from Sony -
Hey MM!
4 words: Awesome.awesome.awesome.Awesome!
It looks superb! You can tell you spent time making it how you wanted!
All the *electronic gadgets = Sweet!*
Cin
-
Thank you Cin' ... I m still trying to hide the cables but for now I m just gonna enjoy all that power ... and so that's basically from where I post to you
-
NP!! It looks good, and those sliders letting the sun in make it even better!
Enjoy all that POWER!
I surely would!
OH...those cables...Tie them up with a scarf!!! That's what I did with mine..I just wrapped the scarf around the cables, and it ended looking pretty nice!
HA HA..oh lulz...

9800mGTX Sli and a 7811 with a 9800mGTS. I wish I could have that kind of power. I am starting a fund for my next laptop already and going to go all out this time around. The only thing I dont like about the Sagers is the num pad isnt a full size on like my Dell.
-
I always play on external keyboards so thats not that big of issue to me, but once u get to play around with that power u re gonna be completely sold
-
I can only imagine. I use an external on my dell sometimes, but I love the built in keyboard so much I have changed my setup to use the internal one. Plus I take my 17in everywhere.
-
@MastaMarek: wow, that is one of the best setup I have ever seen in this forum! but again, why do need so many laptop :|
-
haha, that south park episode was just on.
-
Screenshotting with one of the best South Park episodes - win!
-
Looks good, Nizzy~!
Like the wall Art!!! (your wide screen) very sweet!!!
Cin
-
That's some nice stuff, Nizzy!
Here is a picture of what my friend has on one of his walls...May not come in to clearly..His computer area is off to the side. I don't think that can be seen!
-
Ouu cool arcade! I kinda want to start a collection of autographed photo placks.
-
Yeah it's pretty cool! He's got a nice collection of footballs also...I'll PM vs. posting here, so you can check!
Photo plaks are nice

What type of job do you have?

Ok this is my absolute final setup and I m not posting in this thread anymore. I ve done some small touches to improve usability and ergonomics. Here we go ...
Full Setup
40' Samsung 1080p LCD with 15;000 contrast ratio
On the left side we have 3 computers for fun and play and the Mac Pro for work. Also there is a big fan on the left side of my desk to cool down that power area a bit. When 3 computers are turned on, even with AC it can get worm in my room.
Mac Pro is connected to 20' Apple Cinema Display and the Samsung LCD. Also the sound is directed via optical output to Sony 5.1 Surround sound with 800W RMS
3 external HDDs connected to the Mac. Each is 320Gb 5400rpm for extra file storage. I dont like 3.5 HD as they need external power supply to operate and that means even more cables.
Here is the computer for fun and play. Sager 9262 with dual Nvidia 9800m GTX in SLI with 2Gb of total memory. Sager is set on Cryo NZXT notebook cooler (its a beast, this thing) and I use Logitech G15 and G5 as external accessories.
Here is the Gateway for regular everyday use and whatever is left to do on it.
2Gb Sandisk Cruzer and PNY 8Gb flash drives for mobile storage. I do huge amount of video editing so I need every Mb left for the files
Here is the Gateway with Zalman NC2000 Cooler. This thing is sooo quiet. If u need an ultra quiet notebook cooler - this is the one to go for. -
Jesus... that Gateway is pretty much overkill for "everyday use" and whatnot... it's a beast of a gaming laptop! Which leads to the question - how did you decide upon getting two huge gaming machines... in addition to your Mac Pro?
-
probably because the Mac Pro is better for gaming. wondering wut specs is on it
-
Hey MM...You already know I think your room simply *rocks*...Love the final touches! And, your electronic gadgets! Sweet!
GoYOU!
(Nice hardwood floors)!!!
Cin
-
dude all that mustve cost a fortune. sigh. what i would trade for my girlfriend..
-
your saying you'd rather have tech then a girlfriend... whats her email I am sure she would LOVE to hear this ...
-
She pretty? xD
-
HAHAHAH!! I feel ya buddy, anyone with a partner can relate!!$$!$!$!
-
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
@ MM
Jumpin jahoosifatz!! I think you need to add a Wii, 360, 7.1 surround sound, a projector and some some Star Trek embellishments LOL. But seriously sweetness, I am not sure I could ever leave that room. OK maybe for some lovin, but that's it! -
I got the gateway 7811 at bestbuy. Its probably an overkill for everyday use but I was looking into 17' laptops and most of them are in similar price so I just went for it
I do play games on the FX as well, but all the hardcore stuff is left for Sager.
Mac Pro is a beast. I have Dual Quad Core 3.2Ghz Intel Xeons on it, and this thing flies. This is my machine for video editing and encoding. I will need to upgrade the ram and the hd on it soon as they are the bottleneck for that CPU power.
Also thanks everyone for comments. I ve spent some time on building this set up. -
one that sucks the cash right out of my account, lol, I'm a student but I make money by selling crap on ebay which is where I got a lot of that stuff.
-
MastaMarek: nice stuff man. lots of quality products.
-
I thought you were like a database admin or something with those systems.

LOL uh oh! how did you catch that one!?!
-
It was obvious, photo was high quality, very sharp and the room was designer as well as costs more than a darn car so I investigated by right clicking and selecting properties
-
Good find!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we weren't punked and you just borke the law. Nice job tho. I suggest editing your past posts to give credit to the actual owner of the room.
