That driving setup would be 800x better if you get a external monitor like mine
http://www.photohost.org/gallery/data/500/2405gamearea.jpg
My desk looks small because the monitor is 37" ^^
I have also pretty much no light in my room so pictures come out poor. I dont use the notebook at home this is my desktop area, there is simply nowhere to put it. I did buy the hdmi cord to hook it up tho if I ever choose to.
37" Westinghouse HD LCD
5.1 Klipsch Quintet 3 + Synergy Sub

Audio Technica A700's

You call that a knife?
lol you cant see it due to the fact I did a far back pano shot of my room but right next to my monitor is my marine corps k-bar with the tanto tip and black stealth coating. It will go thru a car door like butter.

I also have a 27" akai lcd to the left of the pic that i use as an external monitor sometimes and play my 360 on.
need to clean up though and reorganize, i have another monitor i wanna put up, updated pics tomrrow -
Well, hopefully, I'll get my laptop next month. Until then, this should do.
My current, 4+ years old desktop setup. Enjoy! Or rather, be horrified! Perfect, it's Halloween after all
PC - P4 2.4GHz, 768MB RAM [DDR-266], 256MB ATi Radeon 9600 PRO, Maxtor 40GB HDD [7200RPM] + Seagate 250GB HDD [7200RPM]. And yup, that's paper covering the front of the PC. LOL. I lost the original covers x_x;
Oh, and that's an Infrared device [connects via USB] on top of the CPU. LOL.
Top [looks like it'll collapse any second, eh?]:
Telephone [eww look at the dust around the number buttons..!]
DSL modem
Wireless 802.11b router
Bottom:
UPS
And those very dangerous plug extensions. LOL.
Top to bottom:
Canon i450 printer
Cheap, brandless headphones
Samsung SyncMaster 740N 17" LCD [yup, not widescreen]
Nokia 5300 XpressMusic cellular phone [can't live without a phone! It's part of Philippine culture LOL]
Logitech keyboard and mouse [eww look at that dusty keyboard!]
Oh, and a rug. LOL
Oh, forgot to mention my Logitech webcam. Yup, I'm using my xxxHoLIC manga as a boost. LOL
Hope you survived looking at all of these. LOL.
And hopefully, I get my laptop soon. I'll be handing this down to my brother once I get a laptop. It'll be his problem then! Ok, kidding aside, despite how ugly it looks, it's a great [of course not in today's standards] PC that has served me well through the years. A few weeks after I bought it [back in July 2003], it was already in trouble. Anyone remember the Blaster worm? xD; It's had its downs and hiccups, but it still works pretty well.
Wow didn't realize I typed that much already. The drama stops here -
You think your's is bad? Look at mine on page 12

Yeah, I'm from the Philippines! Minus the very corrupt government, this is indeed a great country with great people
I live in Quezon City. Ikaw? Hehe!
Your room isn't half bad. Just very messy.I admire your collection! Me, I only have a few CD jackets filled with anime I just burned to a CD-R.

I guess this had to be done at some point and unfortunately now (when I don't have my camera with me) is the time. So prepare for some horrible camera phone pictures!

Since I practically live at work, my workstation is considered my computer room.
Specs:
Precision 690
Quad core Xeon 2.66 GHz 2x4MB
2GB RAM
256MB nVidia FX 3500
160GB 10k rpm w/ 16mb cache
And the bread and butter of this system:
2 - 24" ultrasharp 2407FPW-HC
Programs:
Oracle DBA
ProE: Wildfire with Windchill
Mentor graphics -
^^^gotta love ProE
-a powerful computer definitely helps, I learned to use it on a Celeron w/ integrated graphics... thats how I learned patience.
-
its really nice for the price, i got it from costco. great picture with my 360,
has a built in dvd player too. dvd's look pretty nice on it. -
I just added some lights to my rooms setup, so I thought I'd post.
Enjoy!
The lights are 12" cold cathodes that I modified to run off a 9v ac adaptor.
There are 4 of them. One behind each LCD, and two by the shelf / sub. Then I have two in my computer and one liquid neon light in my pc. -
Ooooh, Shiny. Did you ever get you screen fixed?
-
Nope. Never got it fixed. But its strange. Ever since 1-2 weeks after the typhoon I haven’t had a SINGLE problem with the LCD. Other then the light scratch on the right LCD.
-
Onie thing to say.
WOW. -
Jason, those lights look awesome.
-
That's good Jason! When stuff gets fixed by themselves is always nice, though you won't know what was wrong with it.
-
I think the pure asthetic awesomeness of Jason's setup has killed this thread over the past few days...
Where did you get them cold cathodes?
I see some really nice setups all around here, I see alot of users are big on dual external monitors...
Good stuff, on the whole! -
-
wow, i would like to see someone beat that
awesome jason, teach us how! -
As I live alone, my living room is also my computer room. I tried to build it like an entertainment center for all the living room:
The display is a 32" LG LCD TV hooked through hdmi to the notebook, which is a ASUS G1S. Also there's a dvd player and a nintendo wii hooked to the TV. A g-standard wireless acess point provides internet acess in all apartment, so if my guests want to watch the TV or a movie or play with the wii, I can just take the notebook somewhere else and still work. The multifunctional at the left is a HP. the mouse/keyboard combo is wireless, so when I feel like it, I can sit in the sofa behind and use the computer from there.
Only thing I still need to install is a Home theather, but due to lack of space I need one with the decoder installed in the subwoofer. And they're hard to find here in Brazil. -
You guys are making me crave for large monitors!
-
that's a very nice setup zeve! except the red wall seems little out of place. i can tell you're a clean freak like me
-
heh, the red wall is my sister's work. Funny thing is I was a very disorganized guy until I got the apartment and started to live by myself 3 months ago. I think it is a passage rite thing
I tried to make it as cozy as possible. So far the chicks are digging it.
only thing still left to complete is a personal studio in one of the rooms for me and my blues band.
-
boradori....your net is just toooo fast...how do u utilize it max? i have 3 MBPS and i dont even download media files these days
