He, he.. Let's see some setups fellas.

Fine....here is my newly arranged Living Room (before, the FiOS was on a complete second AV setup in the same room lol)
(the top black box is a HTPC I swear!)

Anyways back on topic (and only up until they remove my post). Skook nice setup and movie. I think the wife and I will be doing something similar as we have had it with entertainment centers. Too many cord issues, dust issues and organizational issues.

That probably is the same BOSE setup you are thinking of, that one is at least 10 years old haha
The TV was a welcome improvement as well, 80 pounds....it replaced a 300 pound 36" Sony Trintitron (yes we dropped it getting it down lol - stillworks though....a heater broke its fall)
We have a crappy projector my dad uses to show photos (he is a hobby photographer....so he has about $80k of gear lol) but it would not suffice for home theater use. The TV is also raised about 2" in the back now to aid with the viewing angle (it is supposed to be viewed at eye level head-on otherwise everything shows darker) -
This isn't my office but my gameroom. I have VGA and HDMI pre-ran for easy hookup for my laptops. MiniMac has since been replaced with a appleTV. I'm using a stereo setup at the moment using bose 901's and carver audio equipment that has been restored. I'll be adding in surround as soon as I decide im going to rip out walls to run speaker wire and put inwall speakers in.
-
BC: Thats a nice wireless setup. I want to do that for my next house.
-
It was actually easy to do in this house. That wall is shared with the crawlspace. I was able to just drill in and install some 2" conduit and run the cables any time I need something. Now that I have so many cables in there though, they don't run free. Takes a fish tape to get anything else in there. After the conduit was in I built the equipment stand and attached it to the wall. Added equipment, wahhla, took about a day, except the staining and poly on the wood took time to dry.
Here is my desk in the office, cables are a mess.
-
love your setup BC..nice and clean..where did u get that desk btw?
-
Thanks!
Ikea, its a 63" table top.

I have two of them, one my wife uses. When they are side by side and 10' of desktop it looks even better. -
Nice setups. Yeah, I like that desk as well. It gives a bold statement. I would want it larger and with more space on the front though for my papers.
Also, that wireless setup is sweet. I'm a big fan of clean and organized layouts like that. -
I want an L desk again but might be losing my office soon so might as well not make the investment. Yet another sweet setup BC, I am going to have to have you come over and clean y office and house so it looks that sharp.
My cluttered messy setup at work. I tell myself Im going to clean it up every morning I come in, but then my tasks monopolize my time and I never get around to it.

that's a very sharp setup, BC! love the clean, minimalist setups.
-
I'm really liking all these setups! I'll have to revamp my setup and take a shot!
-
Lol. Nice setup.
C#, as well. I think I might educate myself on that. I wouldn't mind learning it. -
Here's my home-office. When I'm tired of working, it's a great place to geek out!

Heh.. if my setup was that messy at work, I think they would fire me.
-
Lol yeah its messy and simple, but thats the way IT is at my company (well Im a one man IT dept.). Limited resources to do my job and never enough time or space to have an organized workspace.
As for c# Im kinda liking, too early to tell right now. The one thing Im not a huge fan of is if and while statements only accept boolean arguments. Im so used to other languages where I can use a few different primitive data types. Not that big of a deal but definitely an eye opener when coding, and also nice when you think of the issues caused by blind conversions from one primitive to bool. Time will only tell how I feel after my project reaches beta, and if I will continue with the language.
See the problem is I have literally no room Im crammed into the corner of the office in the smallest cubicle. Whenever I start cleaning my desk all hell breaks loose or at least something happens that takes me away from cleaning (same thing happens at home with my home office). Trust me I hate having a messy desk it bothers me to no end. -
That looks like a solid workspace, I really like it. I need to rip out the carpet and put hardwood in my office.
-
Yeah it's fun and I am working on a much "professional looking" one. I've gotten delayed due to work but it should be complete by the end of September.
I will take the current setup to another level... -
I like the big desk, looks very nice. What brand/where did you get it?
-
New computer and a new desk. Finally got rid of the old folding table.
The desk is, BRENTON STUDIO ZENTRA COLLECTION MAIN DESK x 2 plus a corner piece.Attached Files:

The desk is from IKEA, think I paid about $150 for it. Very sturdy.

Here is mine after a very, very tiring night of assignments. They were due on Friday, but hey, what can I do...

Nice! That's what I keep doing, when I can't find space to use my mousepad, I just push all the junk to the back.
-
Ditto. I have just enough space for my XPS and 6in for the mouse that crap always seems to collapse on or something.
-
Ahah! I gotta find a huge L shaped desk, that'd be great!
*Runs to the Ikea* -
hopefully I'm not too late for the pet/computer set up shoots
-
have a look at my pet on computer.... -
NICE...LMAO!!!!
-
he's reading
-
Not sure he is reading... Isn't that a naked girl bear on the screen... LOL
-
Here's my humble setup. It changes weekly by what laptops I have.
-
Wow, I love all these setups! I'll post a new one next week once some bits and pieces come in!

My uncle is custom making a desk for me which has a perfect computer setup including the monitor and computer spots. Cannot wait for it to be completed, will upload pictures once it's done.

Here is my M6400 that I use at work. I just use my lap for my M17x

Thats a need set up you got there, I wish I had one like this!

complicated drawing or calculation on the board behind :|

Nice gateway! I had/have the 3018gz which is the same laptop I got it in late 2004 and it is still running like a champ. My grandfather is currently using it.
Nice clean setup! -
I spy an NFPA book there. I am the IT department for a fire protection engineering firm. Nice precision BTW and setup. Makes me miss 17in workstations.

I was thinking this sort of app would be one of those that comes with the iPad. Too bad it doesn't work with Windows
(or does it?).

Thanks, That Laptop has been really good to me. Sometimes it seems like my life is bound to the NFPA lol.
-
Yeah some of the engineers would say the same thing here. ;p As for the laptop I have to admit I have always wanted a 17in precision since I got my vostro 1700. LOVE dell business and sadly I miss the build quality tha comes with that line (although my SXPS isnt too shabby).

According to the developer website, the windows version should be coming soon! -
Ive had 3 Precision notebooks over the years and this one is the best in terms of build quality in my opinion. My M90 and M6300 were almost identical. However, compared to the M17x it seems flimsy.
btw did you miss a d on the end of your binary, or did i decode it wrong? -
Hey guys...quick question. I am redoing my Computer Room. I recently purchased a tyke monitor mount. I am looking for (2) 22in monitors to mount. Do ya'll prefer 1680x1050 or 1920x1080. I enjoy gaming. I was trying to find something from Dell maybe ???? It seems hard sometimes on the monitor description if they or VESA 100 x 100 compatible.
thanks. -
Yeah the m17x r2 I had felt rock solid but the top end was a bit flimsy (keyboard). As for the binary yes it looks like I have 2 n's at the end.
WUXGA>those resolutions. But between the 2 get FHD+ or 1920x1080.
Show us your computer room 2!
