yup
its a glorified web browser, email checker, and itunes library laptop now. I would trade it for the right gaming laptop. -
Wow thats a slick setup you got there
And were on earth did you get that wallpaper it must have a res of at least 5760x1200 -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Pfft I have wallpapers with 6004x1200
Something tells me that image is not as high res as you may think, looks like a cropped image blown up to fill the screen area, I imagine being infront of it that you will see the lack of detail not apparent in a picture of the monitors from afar and reduced in size to fit on your screen. -
I have it in 10171x2700 but I don't remember where I got it and it's 2.18 MB so I can email it to you if you want. Just pm your address. I also have the ones for the Avengers, Iron Man, and Spider Man by the same artist if you want those too. Not the same size, but still large.
-
Nah its ok, its just not every day that you see a desktop with that kind of res
-
Well My desk is messy atm but that's ok I haven't been drawing anything new lately but I have been buliding my new desktop that Dwarfs over my previous mid size tower, and lemme tell ya this Dream Machine has surpasses my previous systems in almost all areas, More Work is to BE DONE!!! however this what we have so far
.
** Readjusting Images sorry**
Continuation is on the next Page -

Nice looking desktop! I had a similar shock when seeing my Mini P180 next to the 700D that would replace it haha
For a while I had my R2GENE in the 700D before I got the R2E and it just looked laughable -
Ahh Skook I'm trying to post more images, anyways continuation... Anyways Don't EVER mess with a Corsair Internal Water Cooling CPU Unit, these machines are Fun and Beastly
And to think this time last year I almost bought an Alienware Desktop to go along with my Laptop, HAHA......
-
Still more to come but so far the build looks good
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Pretty crazy looking build, I just have a single DDC driving my whole loop haha, you got 2 D5s
-
Cool, someone else wanted them and reminded me of mediafire.
Here's the wallpapers for anyone who wants them Marko_Djurdjevic.zip -
^^^ @darkloki that's awesome man!!!
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Guess I will have to snap some new pics of my desktop so we can compare notes
-
that's pretty sick. is the desktop finished yet? i would love to know more about liquid cooling. i wanted to do something like that, but probably a more basic setup in my desktop build. is there any added maintenance with these kinds of setups? i don't really have a clue about all that kind of stuff, so it would be cool to learn a bit more.
-
Thank you! I was going to ask you but forgot. Now my desktop not boring anymore.
-

So here is the latest on my desktop situation
I am a lot better at building computers than I am at taking pictures
it was the 5 year old point and shoot or the phone....I choose the point and shoot
-
dude you rock
thanks! -
Nice work with the water cooling and cable management darkloki and scook9, very tidy systems!
-
May I get the coordinates to the pots of gold you guys used to fund those systems? Pretty please!
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Na no gold....just graduated from college last May (2010) and until then I had a 95-100% disposable income lol
Now I have about a 20% disposable income, still not bad
My desktop totalled at about $3500 for me ($1k of that is watercooling gear). I got the speakers and monitors a while back, gotta spread out the cost
-
What are the specs for your desktop then?
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Corsair 700D
Watercooled Rampage II Extreme
Watercooled Core i7 Extreme 965
12GB DDR3 1600 Dominator
2x Watercooled Radeon 5870 CrossFireX
GeForce GTX275 for PhysX
120GB Intel G2 SSD
WD6400AAKS
Blu-Ray Burner
Corsair AX1200
I also have a Lamptron Touch Fan Controller and a few sata hot swap bays in the 5.25" slots. the trick is finding the deals....I paid $210 for the motherboard never before installed and got the CPU for $365 from Alienware eBay store this past summer. In retrospect it seems like alot for what I have to show. Got the 5870s when they were new and therefore expensive (about $400 a pop without the GPU blocks) while now they can be had for half that
-
Lucky! 110% of my college income was disposable to bills!
Either way very nice setups yall have. I would like to do a danger den water box one day. -
-
Looking fairly nice and tidy there Joel. I like it.
I remember doing a fair bit of work with those Acer Veritons about a year ago as a server project... -
She get's the job done!
I'll probably look in getting some servers later in the year to replace them. Or to add to them.
-
Nice, I was trying to figure out what the 3rd gpu was for seeing as it wasn't hooked up with xfire
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
The 275 was only $100 for me so was a relatively easy decision to throw it in for PhysX using the modded drivers to allow PhysX with ATI cards installed.
I play UT3 alot online so I do get some benefit from it. (although of course my rig is grossly overkill for that game haha, I play Crysis a lot too
)
-
Very nice! How is UT3 these days? I honestly havent played it since release.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
It is fun like it has always been. Some people online are jerks but that is any online game right?
lol -
Sadly that is true. Doesnt matter what game or console or pc. I miss the LAN party days with UT maybe one day Ill mess around with it for nostalgia.
-
UT3 is one if my favorite games, to bad my internet connection is never good enough to play online
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
you only need a couple hundred kbps to play it as long as your ping is decent
I was monitoring my network usage the last few sessions -
So...........
-
Might have to try it again when my internet usage gets reset at the moment im on 10-20kbps
-
That is what I LOVE about Epic! I was able to play all my UT games (including 2003 and 2004) on my low end gateway 3018gz. While the game looked great on my desktop of the time, I was still able to play with friends and leave the desktop at home when going to a lan party or casual play outside of my home. They have always doen a great job with their games and allowing a broader spectrum of players to play. I really wish they stayed in maryland as I would have worked for them for next to nothing!
-
Moved my room around a little. The Acer on top of the other servers decided to end it's life... Damn. Oh well. So that's just sitting there waiting for a PSU replacement, I have one, just gotta get around to installing it!
I know, I'm lazy. I'm also trying to get Synergy to work so I can get rid of the keyboard and mouse on one of the servers but at the moment it isn't cooperating. Hmm.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Synergy was a little finicky for me at first but once you get it setup is awesome
-
My little setup cost nothing besides the new HP G62. It aint the best but I got all the upgrades I could and Its way better than the 8.9, 900 mhz celeron netbook I was using for 3 yrs.
-
@Dead2th3world, nice laptop. Mine is very small.
-
room isn't done yet, still missing a recliner or loveseat as well as find a suitable way to finish the closet area (and art). The plan is to get another 40 inch tv mounted above my PC setup. -
Don't you get a headache from using those ancient monitors?
-
Sweet pad roliath! Basement suite?
-
-
They were just there to configure and install the servers, now that they are done I got rid of them and just RDP into them from my laptop. Well, actually I can't anymore as they aren't exactly working.
-
home extension
-
Rolaith, sweet room. Nice and roomy. Adding the TV will make it perfect.
-
Still trying to find what would be a good use for the tv though.
Here is one from this afternoon.
