its already in the works, just haven't found the right one.

Well nothing new has been really going on for me this week as I continue working however I did get one of my drawings framed which I hung in my office. Costed me about 150 dollars to frame which was alot I feel but did in fact want to frame this one for some odd reason. The frame has some anti glare glass on it that is even better then the glass on my own Computer Monitor
. I also found an old laptop which I'm listing on the boards 4 free, lol. Oh but I did order my 2nd m17x-r3 laptop with the 6970 option, I'm going to try to cleanup my whole setup and find a way to use optimally use all 3-4 of my systems at one time without having it look like a mess

I recommend investigating Synergy for the multiple systems approach. Like a virtual kvm and works quite well

Joking.. -

Lets keep this thread on computer rooms, feel free to discuss cars and garages in the car section in OT.
-
What a buzz kill...
-
Considering rearranging room. I will post up new pictures then. -
Now I have to find some pictures to hang on the walls. Plus a Dell 23" ultra sharp monitor...
-
First image is my current set up, all crammed into a room with only 1.65 square metres of floor space (no where else to put it all...). Since the photo was taken, have upgraded the keyboard and mouse to Alienware TactX (can't really get in a photo due to the size of the room...).
Second photo is for nostalgia's sake, old set up from a few months ago before the family decided to up and move. Must say I miss the space... you can also see I had to heavily modify my desk to fit the two big screens (well.. take the top shelving off!) -
^ A good clean setup, I like.
-
Decided to try the m15x dp out to my 52.

You need Linux on that server Joel

Whats the specs on your file servers? I was thinking about getting and old optyplex or something for a home file server but I wasn't sure if they could handle it.
The specs on the one I would buy are P4 3.0ghz with hyperthreading, a gig of ram, a couple 500gb HDDs (I would install them myself). I would also think about using it as an email server and MAYBE host a small webpage. -
-
Why won't you just put everything into 1 machine?
Running 2 servers seems like a big waste of energy. -

Here"s my Workstation -
Well, I do like Sonic and everything, but........
That is quite the collection you have there -
So many of these rooms make me jealous xD, I'll post mine when my new laptop arrives

Alright, I couldn't find a proper section to post this but I really need help. Seeing as how there's 40+ users all posting their setup, I'm sure one of you uses or knows a nice desk to put your laptop/monitor on right?
I've spent literally hours trying to find a glass computer desk that looks nice but there are either bad reviews or it looks like .
Can you guys recommend me a nice-looking glass desk? I don't want any L-shape computer desks, and let's keep the length under 45 inches. Black glass would be best, but clear is nice as well. Anything over $200 is too much, but if it looks nice then I'm willing to put out the money for it.
If this is off-topic then a mod is welcome to delete it. Or at least point me where it should be posted. Thanks. -
IKEA | Table tops & legs | VIKA table bar | VIKA GLASHOLM/VIKA LINDVED | Table
My local Ikea had different color/texture on the glass and also the legs were different. If there's one nearby it might be worth a visit. To some extent, those tabletops and legs are interchangeable. -

Granted there are only 2 users in the environment, but still quite impressive for a 3 year old laptop. -
Here's the new and improved study, in a new location complete with a second Alienware screen that came not half an hour ago!!

It is all about the zip ties. Try to get black ones, they look better.

The inside of my computer is what bothers me the most. -
Have a pretty solid/stable girlfriend now so I had to scale back on the ManCave esquie approach in the last few weeks/month and move towards a more zen appeal, it'll be cool though I'll post images up shortly, lol.

-
I cleared my desk so that I can have more room to work and I'm trying to approach more zen like atmosphere so gone are the H2O desktop I had as my brother has taken it from my possession but this is what remains so far
.
M17x R2, M17x R3, M11x R3.
And for those who wanna know the tree is in fact real given to me by a lovely lady
-
Nice.... tree.
-
Darkloki, why do you need two m17x and a m11x?!
-
What bonsai tree is it exactly ? Looks very good.
-
-
Darkloki,
Your m11x is the belle of the aw ball imo.
Re-the lady, nice photo, you two make a nice couple. -
What's left of my Thinkpad W500, used as a desktop:
(2.8ghz C2D, 6GB DDR3, ATI HD3650M, X25-V 40GB)
As it is used:
Notice the penguin -
I somehow can't equate 'zen' with 'disco lights'.
-
Alright I'll shut off the lights.

So, here is my updated man cave!
Three first picture are my new desktop (see specs in my sig). I actually worked on the cable management inside the case this afternoon, it was a huge mess before
Two last are pictures of my now only laptop (see sig again) sitting on my work table and an overview of my set-up.
