Object of a laptop is to be able to move it easily. I have my 1645 at a desk on a dock with a monitor as well :p

I really like this setup. You have alot on a small desk! Which model Samsung TV are you using? I've been looking into getting a 32" TV to use as a monitor. How do you find it? How is the res/dot pitch? Good enough to do some Excel/Word stuff along with gaming? Any ghosting?

I thought that was the point in this thread? Apologises if I offended you guys.

I'll get photo's up once I've finished setting up the desk in the new room and receive the Envy back from it's second repair.

Thank you everyone, the Alienware is kind of defeating the purpose of laptop anyway isn't it? -.-

The Samsung, I'm sorry I don't know exactly what the model type is, I will find out later tonight. I run it at 1360x768, have been using it for the past year now. It's great, I love it. I am a 3D Designer, still in school, but I use it for designing, gaming, word, excel...everything. No ghosting no problems so far. I love it though.

And you did not offend me Pommie. I do not mind questions.

I don't get it - you have some of the most expensive monitors available to consumers, yet you're actual workstations and computers are nowhere near as good.

    Why?

Thanks for asking. There are two reasons. First, the signature that you saw earlier was a bit outdated, and I updated it just now. Notice that the Dimension 4300S is now gone (I am about to sell it), and an OptiPlex 760 has been added (bought it last week). The second reason is, I consider the screen to be the most important part of a computer, whereas for most of what I do, five-year-old processors and RAM technologies are more than sufficient.

And you can keep the screen through 100 desktop upgrades.....it is much more of an investment

why did you get a 14x? Personally I went with a m17x and m11x. I find there to be little difference in terms of movement or usage between the m17x and the m14x. (essentially what I'm saying is that once they're in your bag or on your back you can't tell a difference)

Had I gone with a m14x I would have imagined that I would have gotten the m18x instead of the m17x.

Selling the m14x. Original idea was that the m14x would replace my m15x. Screen is to small as I also use my system as a media device (No cable=lots of streaming).

End result is one m17x and in time getting a cheap m11x.

I bought a Magic Mouse when I still had a MacBook. Definitely a crap mouse. I think about a week after I got the Magic Mouse, I went out and bought a Microsoft bluetooth mouse. My Magic Mouse will probably find its way to Amazon so some Apple fanboy can buy it.

Habs come from the nickname that was giving to the team in early 1900s, when Montreal had two hockey teams.
It comes from the word Habitants (or villager if you will), because back then the players of the Montreal Canadiens were normal people who used to work day shift and play in the evening for fun.
Well that's what I understood. Wikipedia kinda agrees with me.

Just out of curiosity, what can you do with a second monitor?
Do you normally use it for a certain application?

Would I be able to use it in for games somehow?

Sorry for the too many questions... :p
